Love the humility it takes to include the mistakes. I'm sure its tempting to just edit that footage out

I don't know that it's humility, but it is definitely tempting to just edit around them sometimes haha

It's nice to have something that's brand new and perfect. But in time that gets bumped anyway. Having a story of imperfection and mistakes is what memories and love are made of.

Hi Mike, I have been there with solid walnut before. I used sawdust and wood glue to fill voids and cracks. After it was dry, I sprayed water on to see where the overflow of glue was, because it would block the varnish seeping into the grain and wouldn't match, then wet-sand the glue away. Nice design, by the way.

Over cut your miters to 47-50 degrees. This way your miter joints will be tight looking to the outside where it matters and have a slight gap on the inside which no one will see. The point of the miters will touch making a tight looking joint. Then add your edge banding after the box is put together which will give cover your gaps from the edge and cut those to fit the perfect 45. Outside seams on the plywood are perfect looking and edge banding looks good as well. No one will see the inside gap. It will save you time trying to dial in your circular saw and give you a clean perfect look.
