Hey. Andrew love your videos. I noticed you used a brass farole on the plastic water line for ice maker. Not good. Could cut the line with a little water hammering. You should replace with plastic one.👍

I would have added an actual grill, not a cook top. The griddle would be a compliment to the grill for me. And a green egg smoker to round it all off. Great videos and your kitchen came out awesome!

I have a huge gravity smoker off to the side. It won't fit that area and I also grill on it. I personally don't like a grill in the sitting area, smokes out all the guests.

I hear you on pool electrical costs. 2- 2.5 HP pumps running 24 x7 sucks. 3 freezers, 2 refrigerators and a 5-ton unit. 😢

Awesome video Andrew! I’m just a diy-er but I think the plastic supply line to your ice maker should have a plastic ferrule. I noticed you used a copper ferrule. This was the connection at the T from under the sink. Thoughts on running power from the garage to the pool? Would be a fantastic video! Love the channel and I’m not by any means telling you how to do things. I enjoy watching your projects!

Your correct and I used what I had on hand. It does work as long as you don't over tighten. I have a different plan in mind for solar to the pool 😉

Very nice. Please let us know, good or bad, how the ice maker handles gnats and other tiny insects. The bugs love my Frigidaire ice maker and I have to keep it covered else risk opening it to find gnats inside and all the ice ruined. Then it has to be sanitized. Such a pain I have not even turned on the ice maker this summer.

I had bugs the fist two nights (only a few) until I figured out how to turn off the inside light that was always on. That made the difference for me.

You are a great plumber. I have an ice maker and it makes lots of ice. But I have to freeze my ice after making ice, because it melts too fast if I don’t freeze it.

Congrats on 100k! Came to the channel for the freezer ice maker build. Had bought the freezer and the ice makers/hardware when I came across a free commercial pellet maker (needed minimal work). Installed it in my pantry. Family loves it! (Returned the freezer and component's) 2 questions: Did u silicone the tube coming from the drain pump inside the drain pipe under the sink? Did the 1st led lights die, hence the upgrade to the rope lights? Thanks for the great content. Love seeing ur projects!

Yes I did seal the tube in. The original cheap lights started acting up, so I went with a outdoor rated rope light. Thanks for watching.

I have to agree with you on vevor! Ive been finding myself there a lot also. I try to buy American made when I can but sometimes for some items 100% but for a lot of this type stuff I have to save my pennies! Vevor is my first go on a lot! Im looking at their airbag jacks right now and on the fence but Im thinking im about to buy one anyway

I owe you that ice maker! I'd been so happy to buy you one. I can say honestly mine is working great, even on the porch in the heat. We've been tearing the margaritas up, not good for my diet 😬. Had friends over Saturday and they thought the margarita machine was awesome!

Wouldn’t you want a one way check valve on the drain line in case of a backup it wouldn’t sent dirty water back into the pump or ice maker

The drain tube is loose fitting into the pump, it's essentially a catch pan. Can't imagine this happening in reverse, there's always the potential.

Those are woven filters to catch large debris like clay silt. I like running a charcoal filter before the ice maker, I'm sure it helps with minerals and taste.

Hey Andrew, FYI, that drainage pump is junk and not built to last. I purchased a similar ice maker (not Vevor) and the drainage pump that came with it was the exact one that you received from Vevor. Just an FYI..

Great video, love the upgrades! Do you have any concerns about your sink backing up an flowing into your ice machine? I recently put in a condensate pump for my crawl space dehumidifier and had to install a check valve on the outlet. Nice job!

No concerns, the drain pipe from the ice maker is loosely fitted in the condensate pump tray. We've never had a backup at this house or the last.

He always doing honest review and research it before you pull the trigger. As for the rubber washer, hey we miss stuff when we install it. No bad. And that clear ice is awesome! I know how it turns out that way but it's not easy getting it, but that machine does it with no effort on your part 😴

Don't you need an airgap to prevent backwashing drain water into the pump and ice maker?

The tail piece is angled down and has a lip on the inside to now allow water to enter said pipe while draining down and out.

How many inches of space did you leave on either side of the Blackstone? How do the tiles handle the heat off the Blackstone? Im going to build mine in as well

3 inches seems to work well. No issues with the tile.

My ocd wouldn’t allow the folding counter to not meet flush with the existing countertop. Did you make it lower for a reason?

Yes there is no room for the hinges to work properly and the counter top to fold up if higher.

Was your ice NOT clear that it started making later? I saw the first batch was crystal clear but the ice in the bags looked cloudy. Was that just an illusion? lol

No the colder it gets the cloudier. I think that's normal from my understanding. The quicker the freeze the cloudier? 🤷Still tastes great, we've been using it daily.

Typical, the 1 jiont that the manufacturer fitted didnt have a rubber. Or did u not check it?. If not I bet the suppliers are fuming at the moment... If you got If for free because you have helped the ice making business. Maybe you could of not shown that.... maybe. It may of been you not checking. I saw you show that joint at the back but I was doing my usual skip through to interesting bits. My bad If it wasn't anyones fault. Isn't it a drain not a condensation waste. Isn't it already pumped? I have fitted a non pumped icemaker but that was years ago, I thought it would be standard now? How did it go fitting the extension onto the counter. I thought it might be difficult with brackets already attached to the top, maybe the other way mite of been easier? But you do find great ways to solve problems like that.
