It WAS kind of painful to watch but I think you have a great idea there. I admire your go-to-it-ivness on the initial build and I will be watching for further upgrades. Good luck Ben !

Yeah… just taped me building it and figuring it out… it will be a bit more polished on v2.0

I had taken a wooden lazy susan that I got from a thrift store, glued a plastic wall anchor right in the middle, added about 8 felt circles with adhesive backings all around the edges, and there was my rotating platter. Had to turn it myself of course, but it was cheap and took up less room than another turntable.

With this motor you could easily put that susan on there and make it powered... I am luck enough to have the room... This was a lot of error but now it's working well... Thanks for watching!

Hi Ben, I've really been enjoying your Channel. Please keep up the great work. I would love to see some videos on your record collection and what bands you are into. I love how detailed your videos are so I think you could add some great content by talking about some of your individual favorite albums etc.

Careful with water near MDF. Id recommend some strong water resistant coating or paint put on if you use that because even minor splashes over time will wreck an MDF or even rougher sawdust board.

Temporary… platter is still there with rubber mat

I would recommend a DPDT switch if you want to reverse the rotation

That will be the plan in the next revision… however, I also want to make the base better! Thanks for the advice!

Do you need to fit more powerful motor if using an old turntable? I guess normal one would just stop as soon as you apply any pressure to it.

Yeah… this was a cheap belt drive… an old idler like a BSR would likely be just fine but those went from $5 or free to silly prices almost overnight it seems…
