DIY resin cure box

In this video i'll be showing you how to build a simple resin cure box for future composite builds. Its important to keep epoxy resin at a consistent temperature threw out the curing process, and this box will do the trick for that.

I was curious about making a box similar to this, but I was interested in using a heating pad at the base instead. My Resin Cures best around 70*F-80*F, and while those Temps are perfect in the Summer, it's horrible to try curing in the Winter. Never thought about using a heating lamp before. That is definitely a good idea for a higher temp resin. But for what I'm needing it for, I'm thinking a heating pad will work fine!

Nice project ! You should use a temperature controller it would be easier to control the inside temperature and you could set it at the temperature you need. That’s what I did and it works really well ! Take care buddy !

Thanks! Yeah, this was a really simple build, I would love to expand on it with a side fan and temperature controller.

Recently the temp in my area has changed from 40 in the wee morning hours to 75 in the afternoon creating havoc to a project I have been adding resin too every day for over a week. You gave me an idea to make a cardboard box with 4 sides (front and bottom cut out) and a small heater with a thermostat a few feet away to keep the temp between 70 and 80 F. Hoping that works. Will know in a few days. Thanks for sharing...

Should the electrics not be IP rated due to volatile gasses given off from the resin?

I have a bunch of that reflective bubble wrap , some of the reflective came off off ! I wonder if i can just use silver spray paint to cover those spots or do i just use aluminum foil

Man that was a high tech box on the cheap....great job. I wonder if a mylar bubble wrap box like that could be used to protect electronic items from EMP ? I know they make a special copper impreg fabric for EMP protection, but it's about 3 or 4 times the price of carbon fiber.

That is interesting, I have no idea if it could stop EMPs, that would be a fun test! I wounder if carbon fiber is, It is very conductive.

@@Techthisoutmeow Exactly! Yes carbon fiber may work, if not maybe a combination with copper foil or mylar.

Even in Central CA, the outdoor temperature is often below 50 F. Not wanting curing fumes in the house, nor with the rich mans heated garage, I'm looking for a solution.

Do you know how high the temperature would be if you kept the box closed? I'm looking to make a box like this to stabilize my wood after using Cactus Juice.

Ty just made my own using your video. The cost of the Reflectix was higher in my area but that was expected. Side not do not use reptile rated heat lamp bulbs. They are not strong enough.

Just wondering about the fumes that are given off...would it be ok to drill a few air holes in the box so they can be released? ... thanks

If you are worried about fumes you should be buying the ArtResin brand of resin.

@@The_Conqueeftador that's what I've been telling people. It must be reliable if an American made brand swears its non-toxic. Could you imagine the lawsuit if not? 😂
