I agree 100%. First listen threw me off just because it shocked me for being different. Then after a second listen I really did appreciate it, lyrics, Jimin's stylistic choice, really loved it. Jimin was so brave in doing this, he really needed or wanted to put this out. Not everyone likes the same type of music but if one would be really honest the autotune did not take away from this song, it was used as an instrument and as a whole this song is an artwork. Art that is either abstract, Impressionist, graffiti, modern contemporary whatever people wants to see it. Jimin gave us that choice. Jimin was always the bravest among them, he was the only one who performed his 2019 MMA solo dance live where the risk of making mistakes is higher. Armys should at least know that and appreciate this Jimin trait.

You’re right he retains a lot of the essence of BTS but at the same time he showed us a very different side of him. We’ve seen him get gritty before, but he took it to the next level. It feels as if ON, Black Swan and Shadow and Lie had a baby. I agree, he’s had a lot of influence from the members, especially Suga. That dual voice is something we’ve seen from Suga before. I still love it, and Jimin executed it perfectly. It’s inspiration, not copying.

I feel like Set Me Free pt 2 works amazingly especially when you hear it in the album.. It just makes so much sense and feels so fierce and triumphant.. I've always loved songs with choral and orchestral drama... And it adds to the magic when those sounds are juxtaposed unexpectedly. After the vulnerability and pain in Alone, SMFpt2 feels like he is demanding to be released from his shackles. And the way the autotune is used makes it feel like he's not just asking. He will fight his way out of the darkness one way or another and he WILL emerge triumphant. I just feel immensely proud of Jimin coz he's just opened up a whole world of possibilities. So glad that he was able to work through his emotions and that he feels like he has put those feelings behind him..

This song is so artistic and impactful, it really shocked me when I first heard it. The cinematography is beautiful, the camera angles and the peek of Jimin's "nevermind" tattoo in between the dancing. The interplay in the choreography between Jimin and the dancers, the way they pushed against each other and the acting were brilliant. The lyrics are empowering and also personal to Jimin's journey. And then let's add in Jimin's unique vocal and dance that only he can pull off and you have an artistic masterpiece.

I realized most locals & causal listeners are enjoying it more than kpop stans or even some armys & I think it has less to do with autotune itself but more with how we expect Jimin to sound a certain way. So him sounding different... threw a lot of people off. Once u get that thought out of your mind that u need to hear 'that' Jimin voice, u will start enjoying the song way more. 2-3 listens & it becomes addictive, it's a strong grower.

I love these instrumentals on jimins mv. The louder autotune took me a second to adjust to just because I was not expecting it. I love it when artists surprise me. I know Jimin can sing. Aside from visual which mesmerized me to death, every move of jimin in this mv has a meaning all backup dancers are demons haters and problems that were hunting Jim in past and you can see he just want to be Free but all dancers push him deeper back in darkness but we saw that he came above all of them and they all got on their knees for him and in the end he was pure and free from himself because in lyrics you can see that all years he was fighting with himself and was afraid to come face to face with his shadows and the real him with all his darkness because every time he was himself there was all these hate comments (wich makes me so sad and his purest soul doesn't deserve non of them)but with this album FACE he want to face himself and be Free and all haters can fuck off When each part passes you can see that his accessories got less and less jimin in this mv is demanding freedom and he gets it in the end.. Set Me Free Part 2 is now my favorite release of chapter 2. I was blown away on the first watch. I love it, the choreo, concept, everything!

Jimin and Yoongi have been a great musical influence to each other. Yoongi said several times that he liked Jimin's tone the best. He's also the one who suggested Jimin to be the project manager for BE. Always talked about how Jimin could grow musically. And then there's Jimin getting a tatoo from a Yoongi solo song, and making a part 2 to another Yoongi solo song as his official solo debute. Set Me Free pt2 reminded me of their Tony Montana stage. (and let's not forget that their version of Tony Montana is the song Jimin chose to put in PROOF)

I think some of the reasons for the off reaction to the autotune is bc it's used a lot in songs and poorly. Rarely have I heard autotune used in a way that improves a song. This in my opinion was great. The song for Jimin was personal; and his unique voice and how high he can sing naturally was beautiful. Obviously his dancing is fantastic. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions; I loved the song and appreciated this new approach he took w/ this song. I'm very proud of him; it takes a lot of guts to really put yourself out there. I have to admit, on my first listen, I wasn't sure if I liked it mainly because it was not what I expected, but after listening to it the second time, I totally got it. I immediately thought of ON and Black Swan. As for the auto tune, I'm not a fan of it and it kind of surprised me at first, but after listening to it the second time, I totally understood how and why it was used. There's definitely influence from Suga/Agust D. Not sure why people are being so critical about Jimin using it. If you are a fan, you would know that BTS has used it in some of their music, as well as Suga, but when Jimin does it, it somehow makes him a bad singer? Let's just admit that haters just want to find any excuse to bring him down and that's the irony, isn't it? This song is about how Jimin has had to deal with that jealousy and insecurity of haters, but no more cuz they can go f themselves. Love that Jimin finally addresses the verbal attacks and mockery he's had to endure and kudos to him for telling them to f off. This song/MV is so creative musically and visually. The different range in Jimin's voice shows you how diverse and dynamic he is and how many singers can you name that has this unique ability? Of course, he never disappoints in his dance and performance so I was pleased that he showed us what we have all wanted to see from him. The symbolism in the dance formations of the background dancers were mesmerizing. Shout out to the choreographer Sienna (I believe that's her name), for always coming up with some of the best BTS choreography. Can't wait for his album release and Like Crazy.

He used autotune etc to digitize his voice differently for different effects, turning himself into several voices and effectively into a musical instrument... It's art! Folks don't have to like it, but it's a deliberate artistic choice 🤣 I'm personally a fan of pretty raw vocals complete with imperfections, but I can also appreciate this approach. I wish folks would start from "we know Jimin can sing, so I wonder why he used those effects." And the video took my breath away 😂

THANK YOU JINO 🙏 This song absolutely blew me away. It hits so emotionally for me, such a fight song and anthem. I don’t get the Autotune criticism. I am an acapella fan and even I enjoy the contrast and variety it allows artists to put on their voice, the flavor you can achieve. It suits Jimin so well. Cher and J-Lo started using it stylistically in the 90s! It’s all over pop and rap music. BTS have used it so much and so well. Not just in Black Swan, but in ON, in Shadow, in Run BTS etc. It’s a conscious choice. I saw someone on Twitter point out that they use it especially intensely when they are talking from the perspective of their shadow or about it. That’s such an interesting concepts. It makes the shadow sound more sinister in a way. It’s freaking art and I love it. I agree it could have been a BTS song and it connects to ON. But I am so happy Jimin gets to do exactly what he wants, how he wants and shine like this. Also love the fact that the guys keep releasing explicit music as well, it shows off their freedom, which is just satisfying. Hello! I appreciate BTS for the joy they have brought and backbreaking effort they put out both pre-debut an after. The work schedules, the minimal food, etc, just starting out. The humiliation of rejection and bulling they endured until they caught fire. The aches, the hurts, not only physical, but emotional and spiritual. The lines they had to stay within, the Draconian rules that had to be followed in order to stay on top. These denying the the opportunity to grow as young men. The things they may or may not have wanted to do for fan service. It is human nature to want to be yourself without condemnation, to be accepted. If you are force weather you agreed to the conditions or not after awhile the spirit will rebel. I understand Jimin's Pt2. And the repetition , or as I see it emphasizing the frustration to be let go and fly, so to speak. To grow and learn, stagnation in one place will kill the spirit if it is allowed no recourse but solitary confinement. That is why these young men clung to each other.
