From the Academy-Award winning film, Django Unchained. In early 1858 Texas, brothers Ace and Dicky Speck drive a group of shackled black slaves on foot. Among them is Django (Foxx), sold off and separated from his wife Broomhilda von Shaft, a house slave who speaks German and English. They are stopped by Dr. King Schultz (Waltz), a German dentist-turned-bounty hunter seeking to buy Django for his knowledge of the three outlawed Brittle brothers, overseers at the plantation of Django's previous owner and for whom Schultz has a warrant. When Ace levels his gun at Schultz, Schultz kills him and shoots Dicky's horse. As a result, the horse falls on top of Dicky, pinning him to the ground. Schultz insists on paying a fair price for Django before leaving Dicky to the newly freed slaves, who kill him and follow the North Star to freedom. Schultz offers Django his freedom and $75 in exchange for help tracking down the Brittles.

I didn’t notice this until now, but I always wondered why the dr paid the slave trader for django when he could have just freed him, but the reason the throws the money to the slave trader is so that the slaves can grab the money and use it for themselves and maybe find a better life. The dr is honestly one of the best characters in this movie
@jacobgraham8363
@jacobgraham8363 2 жыл бұрын
No it’s because he wants to legitimately free Django, by buying Django he can then free him legally that way Django will be able to live as a free man, without having to be on the run for the rest of his life as an fugitive run away slave. He then leaves it up to the slaves to free them selves, which of course they do. Of course the now freed slaves could very well take that money, so I suppose Dr. king could have also had that in mind.

Being an officer of the court, Schultz is very careful how he proceeds with everything. From a practical viewpoint, he just robbed and murdered the Specks and set all the slaves free, all of which are criminal offenses. But the WAY he did it ensures that if he's ever questioned about it, he can be completely truthful and not incriminate himself. He did buy Django (even though he forced them to sell by murdering one and incapacitating the other), he killed the one Speck in "self-defense," and he left the slaves in the possession of the Speck brothers (knowing full well they'd kill him and escape).

@@jimmiller5600 that is a gross over amplified view. The trump presidency was nowhere near the evil that has been put on it. Shit, Biden reiterated Trumps policy on immigration, ending the war, and infrastructure. He didn't do a single thing that the entire media and left accused trump of ignoring. Student debt nope, immigration nope, child detention centers? He made 4 more nope. Trump sued for peace and reached out to the Taliban to bring about ending the war there and every single media outlet and Democrat attacked him publicly saying that he shouldn't end the war and that he betrayed America by trying to sue for peace. Trump was criticized endlessly for pulling out of Syria and ensuring that we don't get into another goddamn war in the mid east. Trump was compared to Hitler for his immigration policy and yet Biden comes out and directly spoke to the immigrants and said: "Don't come. We can't have you immigrate due to funding, border crisis, judicial cases etc etc etc. Trump called xenophobic for his statements about immigration and the Muslim travel ban, yet Biden and the rest of the left don't address or even acknowledge the Muslim death camps in China. Trump was incessantly attacked about COVID response and his failures when a vaccine was made available at the end of his term and lowering rates of infection which Biden has now returned to the same level as when the pandemic started. Trump even gave him the best economy in American history that had a quick panic collapse from COVID which was immediately addressed and was recovering nicely to pre covid levels which has now been gutted and halted out. Biden completely fucked the China trade deal and now he wants to increase taxes, not on the rich, but on the middle class and raise 4 trillion dollars for" infrastructure" which in reality is to pass some BS green new deal which in effect change our energy dependence from a variety of oil export countries to only China as all the BS Green Energy devices require having the strongest electromagnet which is mined by only one country, China. Holy hell, it is wild to see people talk about Trumps presidency as if it was Hitler and yet they let Biden do all of these things and not a single note of criticism. You can tell how inept Biden, the left, and the media are because they constantly have to bring up old news and clips of Trump. Bunch of ostriches sticking their heads in the sand and the funniest thing about all of it is that I'm not even a trump supporter, but even I can see the hypocrisy of all of this. BLM dissappears after Trump, CNN daily tirade against the President ends, with the clearing of the smoke now we can all see that Biden and the establishment was never for changing the USA post trump, but returning America to the old status quo, where politicians are complete Schills to their corporate overlords and foreign countries that bribe them with campaign funds and payoffs to members of his family. So sad to think how easily manipulated the left were into thinking that Biden was gonna change anything and that he would keep his promises, and he came in and didn't even attempt to keep a single issue he campaigned on.
