The electric micro dolly is actually quite useful. I was doing some macro video the other day and the shots were all so static and boring. Handheld is a freaking challenge as any movement and the focus goes AWOL. I pulled this dolly, attached a noga arm and was able to mount the phone with macro lens so up close, and manually created dolly shots which, for macro, would normally require rather expensive kit. This little dolly can be so functional. Glad you found the video helpful.

Thanks for the sharing. I was thinking a variable ND filter would be the greatest thing since sliced bread. You’ve saved me from buying something that I won’t be using right away and then can’t return because it’s past the return period.

Great video. I just picked up a OP2 and I'm looking to integrate it into my kit. What I shoot is trail footage and one of my chief challenges is keeping things charged and operating for long periods of time. Right now I'm doing most of my work with Insta360's one X2 because the camera can swap batteries. The OP2 cannot, so I'm looking for suggestions that don't require that I turn the OP2 off for hours while I trickle a charge into the camera. have you tried using the charging handle with the camera filming?

The smartphone holder with handle that I use has an integrated power-bank within the handle itself. I keep the Pocket 2 charged during use that way. I then, in between locations if I know I will be filming all day, use a high-capacity power bank that I always carry in my camera bag to recharge either the pocket 2 or the power-bank handle, or both. There is a link in the description to the model that I use and it has never failed me. I hope this is helpful…

I got rid of my dji pocket solely because of all the accessories needed it's like $500 after everything.... Got an insta 360 onex2 and I'm loving it. Camera and stick let's roll(also water proof no case)

Thanks for your comment. You have a very valid point. You clearly like the look and feel you get out of your 360 camera. Fair point. The pocket 2 is a different proposition with different type of results in terms of the way the footage looks. But can you imagine if every person in this world liked the same car with the same colour? What a boring place it would be. The best thing is the you found the camera set up that works for you, regardless of what anyone says. I congratulate you for that.

The spinning around close ups of products in this review and also in my essential accessories video for the pocket 2 are from this dolly. Right this moment I am taking a break from doing some Macro dolly filming for an iPhone 12 Pro Max for videography video I have coming up in a few days...

@@Ben-ry1py yes it is. It’s not high-end, accuracy for repeating shots is not there but for the price, as long as you understand what it can and can’t do, it an absolute steal! I am doing now macro dollying mounting a phone on a little noga arm . I couldn’t do this kind of thing with anything else. Handy thing to have.

Your videos convinced me to buy the pocket 2 - thanks for your travel videos. I have the pocket 2 and want to travel to the beach with it and take it out on ferry trips. Should I buy a waterproof case to protect it? I am amazed that pocket 2 is not water-resistant. What are your thoughts?

Unfortunately, it is not waterproof so if you/re gonna be close to water, or in a situation where water comes into the equation, I would recommend a waterproof mount or underwater housing. I mean, it's not like a drop of water and it fails, I had it under light rain for a bit and no problem, but f you are thinking proper water exposure, i would probably get myself the DJI underwater munt/ housing...

Are the freewell filters are good,any recommendations

Yes they are!! I use them and never had an issue with them. I have links in the description. Mind you though, if you buy the freewell wide angle, it will come with ND filters, but those filters will not fit the standard 20mm lens. You will need to buy ND filters for the standard lens too.

You can buy filter from a different company that work the same way there expensive but I’m pretty sure they make a wide angle that connects with there filter in the kit

Excellent presentation.... Question please: Does the DJI Pocket 2 not have any auto or manual exposure control? Or, is bright outdoor exposure controlled through those small ND filers. I hope not! Thanks for your thoughts...

Yes, it has the option to run it in auto ISO and shutter speed (no option to change exposure in these compact cameras) or manual. It is very easy to select. I almost always run it on manual, but there are some instances when auto is the way to go. Ideally, for bright outdoors you want to manually lock ISO and shutter and use ND filters to compensate for the brightness levels. This is because on a bright day, even in auto with the highest possible shutter speed, the pocket 2 can't really handle so much brightness. This is also the same is pretty much all mid-low end cameras. Exposure control is only for actual removable lenses. I hope this helps!

@@SamuelSotiega Thanks for your thoughtful reply. The only thing I'd miss is the ability for tight optical zooms. But, then you're back to large obvious cine gear. Like you've said, people don't pay attention to something like the little Pocket 2.

Question... if when wirelessly phone is hooked up to pocket 2 can you see what being recored through your phone whist its not hard wired to the pocket 2 . Say i have camera set up but built in screen is to far and small to see . Can be holding phone and check to confirm the camera is effectively getting what im shooting ( wirelessly)

If you buy the creator’s combo which gets you the do-it-all-handle, you can indeed see the live feed from the camera and adjust anything and everything. I use it all the time and it is awesome.

Would that microphone be good for recording ambient sounds? I only want to use it for walking videos in which I don't speak.

Uhmmm… I wouldn’t use a lapel mic for ambient audio recording. But the mic acts as wireless transmitter to the doitallhandle. That is handy. You could connect a small mic like a rode videomicro to the transmitter, wirelessly send the signal to the pocket 2 and that way you don’t need to worry about cables. That’s how I would do it. Is that possible at your end?

@@theywalkinamsterdam when you compare the do-it-all-handle and what you get to what accessories you would need to replicate the same, you’ll realise it is tiny. I highly recommend it, you would not be disappointed. Put it this way, i never take the do-it-all-handle off my pocket 2. Because it also allows me to view and control the pocket 2 wirelessly using another phone, and that is also super helpful and useful. But I understand if it is not quite what you’re after, we’re all different with different requirements.

FYI, the DJI microphone ONLY works on the Pocket 2. You can't use it with your phone or other camera.

It might defeat the purpose of a pocket camera, no? But I am sure there are brackets and mounting accessories that add cold shoe mounts so you can then mount whatever accessories you want… i always try to keep my pocket 2 to a minimum so I can’t really give you an answer…

Thanks for your comment! I am not suggesting that you have to buy any of it. But if you want to cook an omelette, you will need eggs. You can look at eggs, think about eggs, dream about eggs, but eventually, if you want the omelette, you will need to buy eggs. I provide links for the items I have bought myself after doing a lot of research. Basically I did the donkey work for you so you don’t have to. But you might find certain items cheaper on eBay, etc. Difference might be, with amazon you get them tomorrow, on eBay and other platforms you might need to wait a month or two as they come from China.... But I totally understand where you’re coming from, I wish myself too that things were cheaper! It’s a real bummer sometimes...
