There are two things they can do to actually get a good reputation. 1) Refurbishing the units inside and out 2) Actually pack in the actual products they they list 100% of the time. Getting something like a zapper, there's a chance you'll get a 3rd party knock off

you might be pleasantly surprised. I sometimes go for part consoles to fix, and they sometimes come and are just untested basically, I get a lot of consoles in full working order. Ebay is awesome. They need to shed the reputation of their past, paypal and ebay secure our money so damn well, it's ridiculous people still have something against the platform in 2023. If someone scams you, the money comes back, all you have to do is put in the request and wait 7 days. I've never had a problem if someone does something underhanded. I have done hundreds if not thousands of transactions, and I can count the scammers I've encountered on one hand.

I have much more faith in well-rated eBay sellers than I do in DKOldies.

I paid kind of a lot for an amazing looking refurbished SNES and Genesis console on Ebay. But at least they arrived exactly how they looked in the pictures. I could hardly be happier with them they look so good. They included the box and a bunch of other stuff that came with the consoles in their original packaging, for about the same price as DKO's "refurbished" consoles and controllers only. I've never owned an SNES and I wanted to be able to have that experience of opening up the box and marveling at what's inside like it's the 90's again. Did not disappoint. It's all "incredibly good condition" to "like new". No discoloration. I feel like I not only made a good decision with my money for the value it gives me, but also that I dodged a bullet not even knowing that DKO existed at the time.

The few that have called a law firm were told their case isn't good and it would be very expensive and not worth the cost even if they did win. A class action even less so as they are too small a company to get enough money to make it worth an attorneys time.

Could turn the other way around if you guys keep it up

1. They have a brainwashed loyal fan base who for some reason will defend them to the ends of the earth ( nostalgia chasers who probably haven't bought a console from them). 2. People who don't really venture into the tech side of social media ( unaware of the drama) and maybe saw some of their shorts through Instagram or KZfaq and for one reason or another want to get back into old school gaming ( the majority of their customer base i am sure). Watching some of DkOldies videos i could understand some of the customers and some were pretty sad like a guy who remembered playing nes with his brother who died in a accident. Wanting to relive some memories and make new ones with his kids. Then there are some where a person is buying it as a gift for another person which as of late reading the comments on those are always funny as people role-play the receiver being angry at how much money was spent when a better deal was right down the street lol.

If they sell you a product that is advertised as Refurbished and you get it all dirty & gross, that is False Advertisement. That's your hard-earned money totally wasted on a lie.

Yeah it's the good old fake "sale" tactic that many companies use. They just slap on a "sale" marker on the item to trick people into thinking they're getting a better deal. In reality the price is the same as it always was, sometimes they might even jack it up so they can feel extra "smart" about cheating their customers. Anyways...Nothing justifies DKOldies prices. Not the market value, not the amount of work put into a product (fake refurbishment) and not the overhead. They are simply greedy thieves and liars who prey on their customer base. The sooner this company goes out of business the better. The fact they have made these price cuts tells you these videos are working and DKOldies is feeling the heat. If these videos didn't make a difference they wouldn't be doing damage control and making adjustments that hurt their profit margin. Personally I'm not in the camp of people that says "It's not their prices that are the problem, it's just that they lie about refurbishing". I think BOTH are major issues, and both go hand in hand because they charge a premium for the supposedly refurbished hardware.

Agree on point 1 and 3. Sell them "As Is" instead of refurbished. IF they want to continue listing them as refurbished, they need to ACTUALLY refurbish the consoles prior to listing them.

They didn’t lower any damn prices. They sell loose games for the price of CIB games. Look up Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver and Metroid Fusions loose price and then check up the CIB ebay prices for examples

they had to literally be forced to follow the law concerning the "warranty stickers," that change was FORCED on them by the youtubers exposing them. They had to be FORCED TO FOLLOW THE LAW. They will not make improvements without being forced to. Count on it.

What they need to do is sell the consoles for what they are worth. What they are trying to do is buy cheap consoles from thrifts stores or eBay and selling them 4 times what they are worth

There are shorts of employees putting the stickers on the consoles. What do you say to that? If you really work there, you'd help provide proof instead of just typing up an excuse. If the sticker really isn't used for warranty, then why is it a warranty sticker in the first place? It just doesn't add up.
