Nice picking! That lock looks quite secure, considering thieves don't usually try and pick locks (especially dimple ones). If you added security pins it would be even better I guess. Thanks for showing! 😜😜

99% of the time all locks will be attacked using brute force. I think this is why they focus completely on strengthening their locks. It is disappointing though that they are so easy to pick as you demonstrated so well. What's the cost for them chucking in full chambers of security pins, 50% even? Gutted you couldn't gut it. No pun intended. Great video Dmac

@@Dmaclocksport I'd hazard a guess most would just still just smash a window instead Realistically, we get these kinds of locks because "the insurance says so" even though there may even be better locks, but it doesn't prevent someone throwing a brick in your windows I asked someone why they've got a smart (non insurance approved) lock, and they said well realistically it's unlikely that someone will hack them or pick them. Realistically, people would just smash your window, and then the door lock would alert an alarm, and I thought "Yeah that's a fair point"

The majority of attacks are drilling and snapping so they've put everything into protecting against physical attacks, whilst leaving pick resistance as a glaring vulnerability. It's a tough looking looking lock but it has a glass jaw.

Tbh with you, realistically locks are an insurance thing and that's it. Realistically if someone wants into your house, they're gonna smash your window We really need a multi faceted approach to things. Smart doorbells are generally installed for convenience but they add a layer of security in themselves I'll be getting a keyless EV most likely, and I'll get automatic retracting bollards too which means would be thieves wouldn't be able to take many things to their van with ease too (Tbh it's mostly to prevent my neighbour from using my driveway to drive on, but that's my excuse) It does protect me from keyless car theft though given that they can't just drive off

Great vid and explanation mate. Looks like the6ve thrown everything at the snap and go approach to break ins, as most crimes are of that nature, as oppesed to someone conspicuously trying to pick a lock without a sign writen van outside withiut someone callong the police. 😁 But made it easy for locksmiths to change them over after the unfortunate event. Would be good to see A LOT MORE serrated and spool action in those pins though. 5ime to buy a smaller punch buddy😉😁👍

I bought a really cheap dimple, euro cylinder, from Amazon as my first dimple lock. It has a thumb turn on the interior side. The tolerance is so loose on it, it's really difficult to pic! I should have spent a lot for this lock and gotten my first open quickly. 😆 🤣 😂
