Jamie finally gets her 23 and me DNA test results back and they are shocking and she calls her Dad to find out who is her bio Mom! Going through foster care she doesn't know a lot about her history. Her reaction to her DNA test results are priceless and then we get to make a phone call to her birth Dad!!!

I'm rewatching these videos and it makes me so sad that we don't get to see Jamie all the time. I think that she is such a loving, precious young lady who finally got her Mum and the stability she needs. Thank you Crystal and Aaron for bringing us your beautiful family. All your children are going to have such wonderful memories to look back on as they grow up. Xx

I love that you encourage Jamie to continue fostering such a close relationship with her dad. He seems like a real nice guy who loves her a lot. I'm sorry that her bio mom wasn't an active participant in her life, but it's wonderful that it turned out that Jamie and Aurora were able to join your sweet family. ❤

Crystal the 23andme wouldn’t really pick up genetic links for auroras seizures the best option for that would probably be geneticist! Maybe you can find out other things in her DNA as well. :)

@@livlove7198 23andme only tests for a handful of genes that cause disease. To get a definitive genetic diagnosis for Aurora (and that's assuming she even has one; not all epilepsy is genetic), a geneticist would be a lot more helpful because they could test for a lot of mutations that 23andme doesn't look at.

Also to add on to my original comment I just seen another comment for crystal to research about fragile X syndrome as it is very similar to autism and comes along with speech issues as well as seizures, and I’m pretty sure u can test for it. Hope the Crazy pieces see this comment!

This is the third one I've watched where you surprise your babies with such a priceless gift. I had the onion ninjas visit many times and not once did they leave a hanky. Family is bonded not by blood but by love. Ensure to share the love everyday even when unhappy so there is never any regrets.

I seriously love the intro at the beginning of your videos! I am a foster mommy of special needs children ages 14&5 as well as have two children of my own ages 7&5. We want a big family but have had fertility issues after our second was born and aren't able to have anymore of our own. I would love to do foster to adopt one day. You guys are my new favorite KZfaqrs. You are so amazing crystal! ❤️

It’s be hard to get her to do it. Plus she has to do it basically by herself or it could be contaminated

If the Crazy Middles want to know if Aurora's epilepsy has a genetic cause, they would be much better served by an actual geneticist who could test for all the mutations that cause seizures. Last time I checked, 23andme does not give you results for anything related to epilepsy/apraxia/autism (and it certainly does not cover all of them). There are also other implications for giving a young child a commercial DNA test. Although some of the other Crazy Pieces are still kids, they're old enough to grasp what the test means and what the implications of it are. The American Society for Human Genetics discourages parents from giving their children DNA kits for privacy reasons (their results could easily be sold and cause discrimination with insurance/employment/etc. down the line) as well as psychological reasons.

seeing as jamie and her dad have intellectual disability, would you test Aurora with it as she has a greater chance through heritage wouldn't she. It would be great to look up Auroras dads side as well because apart from her father, she might have a nice grandma you could find

I am glad you have gotten her bio from 23 and me. For the health records but as a kid in and out of fosters, I am 69 now. I am aspers and have a lot of problems most caused from bio parents. If you have good loving parents foster or adopted, latch on and don't look back.

Have you looked into Fragile X Syndrome? It's a genetic condition similar to Autism that is characterized by intellectual disability, speech/learning/behavioural challenges and physical characteristics (prominent eyes, forehead, flat feet etc). I believe that some people with Fragile X experience seizures... may be something to research.

Jamie I could almost see your heart break when your bio dad said “ya she just took off”. It wasn’t your fault in anyway. She could of had addiction issues, or just was selfish at that time in her life. You’re an amazing young woman, and I’m sure when God thinks the time is right, all your questions will be answered. + if things didn’t happen exactly like they did, you might not have ever met the forever family you have now. You are loved and cared for by amazing parents, you have a house full of brothers and sisters that adore you, and you can be involved with and watch your biological child grow into a beautiful young woman. That’s good that Jamie gets to understand more about who she is and things - it’s nice. I would love to do that test but it’s scares me. As for wanting to visit the Uk, I laughed and said why? I live in Scotland yes we may have good scenery but the weather sucks be prepared for all seasons in the same day 😂 although we are having amazing weather just now but the kids went on summer holidays today so no doubt it will rain for the next 7 weeks. Crystal gives a brief summary of Jamie's results to Jamie's biological father. Then Crystal asks who Jamie's biological mom is and what happened to her. Her bio dad gives her name and says that she got a boyfriend and left. She also asks if the bio mom ever checked up on Jamie or Melinda (Jamie's biological sister), and I think he says that she tried to call him once but when he tried to return her call, she never responded.

Framma Zuleger That’s because Mexican isn’t a race. There are indigenous people in Mexico, but they register as Native American (as in North America, not USA). So it is highly likely that she is Mexican as the majority of the Mexican population is comprised of native peoples mixed with European and Asian people.

The phonecall with her das was very hard to understand (maybe because i'm from Germany and no nativespeaker😉). Would you like to tell what he said about her mom? Leandra W He provided her mothers name and said she took off with one of her boyfriends when Jamie was little. He said she called him one time but when he tried to call back she never answered so he just let it go. (The possibility of being able to reach her.) I believe the last thing he said was what town / area she was living in. I’m an English speaker and I believe her father has an intellectual disability as well, making it more difficult to understand him.

I don't think Crystal should have posted her phone call conversation with Jamie's father on KZfaq. that should have been a private conversation, because how does she know he wants everybody to know that his wife took off on him and his daughter

Why do you assume she didn’t ask his permission? Crystal probably contacted him before recording this and made an appointment with him for this recorded phonecall.
