I actually know someone who adopted a pregnant 14 year old, and when the baby was born she was asked to adopt him as well. The baby is now 4, and she's 18, and they're a unique family that is doing super well!

@@OneBrokenDove nope. Aurora was adopted by Crystal and Aaron, and they also "adopted" Jamie in their hearts.

@@rue353 its entirely her age. When they met her she was already a legal adult, and you can't adopt over 18 in Arizona.

I love that Jamie and Aurora get to be together and that they have such a loving family. It is so scary to think that if you all wouldn't have been there, Jamie would have lost Aurora.

Not only did this family adopt all of these children, help numerous kids throught foster care, and helped a young mother by basically adopting her and her baby but at the SAME TIME she was a surgate mother so someone else could have the fantastic chance to raise a child. Wow, what an amazing group of people!!!

Bambi Francisco failed adoptions aren’t always due to kids going back to parents or family members it can be for a number of reasons like medical reasons, kids not being able to settle in the home or simply that it wasn’t a good time for the adoption to be processed there’s more than the kids going back to there bio families

Bambi Francisco yeah when it is a good case scenario and the kid can go home or to a family member that’s great that’s what’s best for that child to be with family but most of the time it’s not the case

I work in the foster care system and actually most kids do get reunified with parents or go to relatives, which is something to be celebrated. There are unfortunately a lot of kids that are waiting for adoptive homes, but there are even more who have gotten reunified or been permanently placed or adopted by relatives.

This is one of the reasons I was drawn to your channel. My best friend had a baby when he was a freshman in high school. And his parents adopted the baby and raised him as his own. He lived with his dad and as he got older he was told his story. He is one of the sweetest people I know he is thirty-five now and has children of his own. When I watched this video what you and Jamie have are the same thing they have. It's wonderful to see someone so happy. Have a blessed weekend

I have adopted 4 boys and am planning to foster/adopt more. I can not have my own bilogical children. But my happiness lies in adopting children with special needs! Beautiful story!

special needs isnt bad thing I have special needs im just like a normal 24 year old i just learn differnt from others

@@nicholejordan1995 I mean I true love my children special needs or not. Everyone learns differently and that is okay. I believe I have been called to adopt children and specifically children with special needs because they hold a special place in my heart.

I had no idea that Aurora's birth mom is Jamie! The more I watch your family, the more I fall in love. It is so amazing that Jamie is still so involved in Aurora's life and that you love Jamie just as much as Aurora. Side note: a baby's laugh is the best thing in the world.

I love this adoption story! Adoption stories mean s much to me. I was adopted at the age of one. Hearing other peoples adoption stories brings me so much joy! There is so much good in this world!!

Wow!!! I live like an hour away from Manistee! I love seeing the connection to Michigan through your adoption! My family adopted 6 teenage boys, 5 were all brothers and as I get older I realize how incredible that is and I often wonder how the heck my parents stayed sane! As a birth mom watching these and your sisters videos I find hope that my kids are in good hands with their adopted family I knew it was for the best that I placed them I'd rather not go into details but I wasn't stable and had issues and I made that decision

I've always wanted a big family but as I've gotten older I realized there were some issues with my ovulation, and after talking to my doctor it was brought up that I show a lot of symptoms of Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrom. I've yet to get tested but I've been looking into other options in case it is discovered that I won't be able to have biological children. I've always felt drawn to fostering and adoption and watching your videos has made me realize that whether I can have biological kids or not, I'll definitely be looking to adopt and give kids their forever home with me. You guys are amazing ❤❤❤

I thought you'd find this interesting! I am adopted myself so I enjoy adoption stories but I don't know Jamie personally but I also used to live in Manistee, Michigan! When I found your families adoption story on here I never expected to open it to find out Jamie also used to live in Manistee! I guess as everyone a small world it is!!

Wow... I was born and have a lot of family in Muskegon MI, less than an hour and a half South of Manitee. 😊 Michigan is such a beautiful place, I was so lucky to grow up so close to the lake.

I love this story,its so sweet knowing this, even though it was prob hard for Jamie to understand but,the heart you have to let Aurora know her mom growing up,not many people are willing to do that. You're so beautiful inside out.

A similar thing happened to me. I had my tubes tied, earlier in my life. I knew that I was going to raise a daughter. I had three boys. I had a dream about a baby girl, and that her name was going to be Sarah. (I had divorced and remarried) When I woke up I told my husband. I felt strongly that God was talking to me. Later that day we got a call that a family member needed us to step in and take their two kids. CPS was involved. The mother was pregnant. The end of the story is that we were to adopt the baby and two siblings. The mother named the baby Sarah. It was sad and a time of rejoicing!

It's crazy she laughed so much as a baby to were you wouldn't think there was going to be anything wrong but now that she's older with speech problems you don't hear her laugh anymore just smiles

I’ve loved watching all the adoption stories. I’m hoping to foster or adopt too one day as I’ve wanted to since I was probably only 8 years old. That seems very young to think about adoption 😂 but my best friend got taken from her mum at that time and was placed into a foster family with her little sister and her little brother was placed into another foster family but they got moved around a lot except her little brother he’s still with his first foster family. Since I know what her and her sister went through when she was in the system I’ve always wanted to be a foster career who took in sibling groups like Shelly does as it helps keep families together rather than having to break them up
