Learn how to choose the healthiest peanuts and peanut butter to avoid additives and ingredients that can be damaging to your health.
0:00 Introduction: Are peanuts healthy?
0:51 Conventional peanuts
1:29 Peanuts and glyphosate
2:01 Hydrogenated oils vs. partially hydrogenated oils
2:50 Monoglycerides
3:12 What is the healthiest peanut butter?
In this video, I’m going to tell you about the healthiest peanut butter. Peanuts don't typically cause health issues, but they can cause bloating for some people, and it's still important to consume the right peanuts.
Peanuts are not nuts-they are legumes that grow in the soil. Conventional peanuts are heavily sprayed with pesticides and fungicides, which seep into the soil and penetrate their thin shells. This is why you should always choose organic peanuts and peanut butter.
Glyphosate is also commonly found in peanuts. Glyphosate can act as an antibiotic and is found in many GMO foods.
Always read the label on your peanut butter and ensure it doesn't contain hydrogenated oils. Hydrogenated vegetable oils don’t actually come from vegetables at all-they’re seed oils! Also, avoid peanut butter with added sugar.
Monoglycerides are sometimes added to peanut butter. A French study linked this ingredient to cancer and found that it can increase the risk of certain cancers by 46%.
Look for peanut butter that only contains peanuts and salt. Organic Valencia peanut butter that contains only Valencia peanuts and sea salt is the best option. Valencia peanuts contain the least amount of aflatoxins. Aflatoxins come from mold and can be very damaging to the liver.
Try to have your peanuts with a meal rather than as a snack to avoid spiking insulin.

Yes, always read the label. Sugar absolutely doesn't need to be in peanut butter. Another thing to consider is the jar. Stay away from plastic jars. Was the plastic heated during processing? Did chemicals leach into the peanut butter? What is the risk of micro plastic exposure? Go for glass jars instead! Santa Cruz makes a great dark roast peanut butter that comes in a glass jar. You can wash the jar at the end and keep it as a drinking glass ✌️

It's impossible to be 100% free of toxic chemicals, especially when over 90% of companies have at least one type of contaminant in their products. You'd have to be paying them to lab test every lot you get to ensure it was safe, and that would already be expensive, then you add on the fact for it to be completely safe you would have to test for EVERY possible chemical. It is not feasible in the slightest. Most companies don't even test for even common chemicals.. like Flouride, plastics, Flourine, Hexane, Benzene, etc. I mean, even a lot of natural edible foods, without the human element, can still contain small amounts of toxic chemicals. So, even nature is trying to kill you! lol but no I do try to avoid as many toxic chemicals as I can. Every little thing you put in your body is digested, stored, or transported somewhere around in your body, and most things will have an impact even if you can't notice it yourself. Like how your body is fighting off inflammation everyday that you don't even know about, or pathogens, fungus's, etc.

Doctor Eric Berg, we boiled fresh organic peanut in shell in pressure cooker, we usually eat peanuts hard boiled - if you cook it that way it removes the lectins, peanut is considered a brain food in my country.
@hcure4003
@hcure4003 2 ай бұрын
I've been wondering why this isn't more talked about here, I am sensitive to lectins but peanut butter is one of my favorite foods so I use to search how to remove the lectins from peanuts and there's a study that claims boiling them for 30 minutes removes all lectins. It also cuts the fat in half (so there's less omega 6). So I love the idea of buying good quality peanuts and boiling them and then dehydrating/roasting :)
@arseniaventura4057
@arseniaventura4057 2 ай бұрын
@@hcure4003 Dr. Eric Berg, the lectins in peanut is in the oil, we soak the peanuts in water for 6 hours or more, sometimes we add salt, after soaking we dry it and roast it with a lot of garlic, it's yummy. When you soak nuts in water the allergic reaction is lessen, but in Asia before we don't have people allergic to peanuts, when I come to Canada, I can't believe so many people are allergy to nuts. Peanut butter, let the oil floats in the container then remove it, lectins gone.. so peanut oil is so toxic. People in my country survive World War 2 by eating peanuts and cassava for years....
@hcure4003
@hcure4003 2 ай бұрын
@@arseniaventura4057 that's so interesting, so the lack of these practices must play a huge role in our peanut issues, and I also wonder if there's less pesticides or glyphosate on the peanuts where you're from. But I also believe I read that soaking and boiling removes the pesticides like glyphosate, so either way it makes a lot of sense that soaking and boiling helps us to tolerate peanuts better 👍 it's so weird how we don't properly prepare food here (I'm in America)

I suffered from migraines for 12 years.. After I learned about keto diet from him, I started doing it.. When I stay in ketosis, I won't get migraines.. I am so healthy in all ways also.. If I eat normal diet even without sugars, I am getting migraines.. I personally tested on myself doing both one after the other.. Even when I had carbs above 50 or 60 gm and below 140 gm..,which is usually termed as low carb diet or sugars like lactose of 25gm (even though am in ketosis very low carb) I got migraines.. Natural Sugars more than certain quantity and glucose from low and high carb diet have been causing some kind blockages in blood vessels and bcoz of those blockages, we are getting migraines according to our genes.. Different people get different problems like bp, diabetes, sexual dysfunction etc., but the cause is apparently excess carbs.. Humans really don't need more than 50 gm keto carbs on a regular basis it seems.., based on my experience.. So this is how I healed myself from migraine with Ketogenic diet.. I hope it helps you too.. Transition phase is a bit difficult.. I followed dr. Berg's suggestions from his videos on transition phase.. I endured all the discomfort.. After 1 week I got transitioned and my migraines have gone.. I felt it like a whole new life for me!! ✨All other transitional discomfort took some more time and care to go away.. But it didn't bother me that much compared to my suffering from migraines

@@AloneAgainstAll8855 Keto is sustainable if we know how to cook keto foods and change to low carb diet for some days for every 3 months.. Low carb diet also gave me migraines.. But 3 times a year for some days with migraine is better than full year migraines... Staying in keto is far better than staying with severe health issues and body inefficiency.. As we live in high carb world and bcoz of high costs of healthy fats and proteins, it feels unsustainable bcoz of financials and carb addictions... But the diet itself is sustainable. The problem is inherently not in the diet but in the people's mind, current industrial produce and restaurant tasty foods.. If the prices of keto diet go down and everyone around us does keto, we don't want even low carb in between.., except for body builders and very high intensity working out for very long hours people.. Ketosis is unsustainable is a negative thinking... We can think positively by finding a way to changing the diet in between for short periods...Diet doesn't mean doing it for 10 days or 1 week and going back to high carb... Diet means eating the way we feel healthy.. Staying in Ketosis is not just diet.. Combined with intermittent fasting, it is a lifestyle.. It is an alternative metabolic state of human body which depends on ketones unlike glucose.. If we alternate between these two energy sources, ketones for long time and glucose for short time, we can stay more healthy and efficient.. I request you to not to spread that the keto is unsustainable.. A conscious choice and willpower make it sustainable..

Thanks for the info Eric. I have a farmer friend that retired from farming years ago. He said only 10% of his crop had to be without pesticides, he could then mix it with the other 90% in which he did use pesticides, and the government allowed it to be called "organic". He said organic is a scam. I don't know if this is still correct but I guess 10% organic is better than 0%. The label must say 100% pesticide free/NON-GMO. That is very hard to find.
