Truth.... you become unattractive the moment you start questioning their inconsistency and abusive attitudes. They want out,they thrive more with someone who is willing to put up with their abuse,not complain and submissive to the whole abuse....they are not willing to put in the real work for a healthy relationship. This made a lot of sense. My ex used to always tell me how he was attracted to me being a strong and independent woman. I thought finally I can have a sense of feeling free and can be myself with someone. Then months later I started noticing tactics of manipulation. At first I wasn’t too sure but then I started feeling like I was losing myself. Questioning myself on everything. He was using manipulation to slowly control everything I do. His insecurity was surfacing and I was becoming unhappy, I couldn’t think clearly, loss of motivation to do anything, more worried about his feelings and put mine on the back burner. Just so many things felt off that I ended up pulling the plug my 6th month in the relationship. The time away I found I had withdrawals from trauma bonding. That in itself was eye opening for me. How I could allow myself to endure that. There was no reason for that. It’s never worth going down a dark place. Peace is all I want to be in. No settling.

@ElephantInTheRoom777
@ElephantInTheRoom777 Жыл бұрын
@@kaitlinkennedy2600 a strong man has boundaries, a strong man has dignity and honor, a strong man fills the role of protector and leader, a strong man looks for a submissive woman to love and honor. A strong man doesn’t look for a woman with manly qualities. If your strength as a woman was masculine, it means you weren’t actually strong. A strong woman is brave and faithful in her submission and embraces her role in the relationship. Strong women are attracted to Daddy figures, weak women try to be Daddy because it gives the illusion of power. A goalie is not most powerful when they leave the goal and try to be a forward. As a strong man I don’t want no woman who’s going to be trying to have a bigger d than me, it’s just not attractive. How are my instincts of protection and providing supposed to be activated when a woman is constantly challenging me? If I can’t protect and provide then I can’t be a man. Not being a man is not attractive, and no real man will live like that. A real man, a truly strong man, will lead, that means you must follow, period. It should be the best following ever, it should bring out the soft and vulnerable sweet goodness that will in turn make your man more of a man towards you. My daughter is absolutely in love with me and I am in love with her, one day I will watch her get married, but because of the nature of our relationship, she knows what to expect in a man and how to act herself. When she starts acting bossy and out of her element, I remind her that sweet and beautiful little girls like her don’t talk to their strong and handsome Daddies that love her so much like that, and then i pick her up and look in her eyes and tell her i love her so much, and then i kiss and tickle her. Next thing you know she’s feeding me ice cream, and grabbing my face and telling me I’m her Daddy and she’s going to marry me! 😂 I don’t tell her she can’t marry me, I just say we are definitely super duper in love with each other baby girl. When she grows older she will naturally start to find interest in boys, im just laying the foundation. It used to amaze me how some women say they want one thing in a man but go after something else. I realized that there was no healthy foundation laid doen by their father. And if there was, they then let their daughter go and be with whoever caught their eye. My daughter is not a rental, she will not be trying out men and men will not be trying her out. The man that knows how to lead and love her like I did will propose to her, he will promise to love her for life, cherish and honor, protect and adore. He will have the privelage of being her husband and she will have the privelage of having such a husband. She will not be having sex with men and breaking up in the name of sexual freedom because although that sounds good and freeing, sex created bonds and breaking those bonds over and over GREATLY diminishes the ability of women to bond securely and stay with a single partner for life, especially when trouble comes. I’m single and im loving and im strong. I demand respect and submission. I demand that a woman let me protect and provide for her and adore and honor her. I’m looking for a woman who wants to fill that role. If she cannot be like my daughter then she can’t be for me. I realized that as I was teaching my daughter what to expect from a man, she was teaching me what to expect from a woman. So sweet!

My younger sister is always trying to do this to me. She prefers it when she learns that I have a painful situation or when I’m hurt so she can be the rescuer. She likes to try to “counsel” me by saying “I want to encourage you.” I’m totally aware of this. We just had lunch (always on her terms) on Tuesday and the first thing she did was to unashamedly look me over from head to toe, then begins to compare my teeth to hers and then it went downhill from there because I won’t submit to this gaslighting and ingenuous relationship.

Then my heart began to feel compassion towards her and I was able to be free from resentment and I felt genuine forgiveness towards her. That doesn’t mean I just walk in front of an oncoming train. I now know where to go and not go. This is a recent revelation I have actually shared in a video under my channel’s community tab. I was asked to share it during an Intl zoom call. This is 100% accurate. Thank you for the validation. Every word you say hits it deep. I've had 4 relationships with this type of men and things went exactly as you exlained. After the first relationship I ALMOST end up killing myself, quit my company and had to eventually move to another city to get my power back. And I went to therapy. But it was just talk therapy and it wasn't enough. After the last relationship like this I finally realized I had never really healed. I just survived and moved on and when the next person like this came to my life my fears and confusion took the best of me and the relationship slowly killed me inside and suppressed all my feminine power and confidence that I worked so hard to gain back. Imagine the frustration and selfbetrayal I felt. Now I've been seeing a SE therapist for a while and it's very different. I feel like with this therapy I am actually healing. But it takes so much time. Hopefully the next time I'm opening up for the next relationship I can make better choises. Because my body has always known the truth but the self sabotaging survival mechanisms have always been louder. But I 'm willing to take the time and do the work for it to change. Thanks again for sharing this information and increasing my awareness.

Ended up with another one this past summer and now back to the healing board ugh 😭 thankful for your videos and the knowledge I know I learned years ago. I had the discernment this time and could see the red flags quicker. This time am able to choose to see those red flags and run.

Narcissistic men want to MARRY an ultra sweet submissive giving serving over compliant wife who will worship the ground he walks on and appreciate him for doing the bare minimum.. and will never leave him or will easily be bullied by him into submission But they want to DATE the strong independent fearless type of women and slowly break them and clip their wings to make themselves feel powerful They also shame strong women as hoes, sluts or cat ladies when they refuse to be manipulated

This is interesting, I’ve dealt with both kinds. 30 years with the starf*cker, my home, money, car, status (I didn’t even know I HAD status) he drained every resource I had then ran off with a pole dancer barely old enough to drink. I work for the insecure one. I can’t stand either, but the first one at least we had some enjoyable times. This one, finds out what you’re goal is, blocks you, then takes it for himself, but has no idea what to do with it, doesn’t know how to use it etc. it’s like watching someone use a toilet brush on their hair! I also wound up with friends of both. The insecure folks don’t do too well around me. I compete with myself, my personal best. So I don’t really notice how hard they’re knocking themselves out to compete, and I’m not jealous of what they have. So their whole thing just … I guess I take the wind out of their sails.

I just realize that maybe because he never loved himself he can't live that which truly wants him. The more I tried telling him how great he is the more he pulled back. It's been 2 years. These big purchases are the only things that can push his dopamine and make him happy. But this fades soon as he always tells me. He's got an old Ex living with him. This truth is everyone can find at least one narcissistic trait in their personality, it just depends which person in the relationship is more dominant than the other, which results in one being the abuser and the other being the abused. However, there are definitely people that are absolutely not a narcissistic. However, some people are fully loaded with narcissistic personality traits, this is because narcissistic traits are learned behavioural traits; Basically, to gain control over another to gain something from them; money, some form of material wealth, emotional fulfilment of some sort (which is their tactic ) etc etc I think from experience there are more cases of narcissistic men in Western society because Western society develops culture that supports and values money, wealthy, superficial things like self-image, etc and this results in taking advantage of others! In a sense it's a survival tactic because the US system for example doesn't provide adequate welfare, or support for a lot of people. If people live in narcissistic relationships with family it's even harder to heal because there is contact on daily basis. There is an opportunity to cut ties with a partner or friends and move on, heal and understand how this toxic cycle can develop. So find genuine professional help in traumatic therapy if you are struggling with narcissistic people in your life or any other form of abuse. Everyone deserves to live a peaceful happy life full of purpose ❤

Thank you! It is very rare to hear anyone address this particular dynamic. More information on this particular topic would be beneficial to a largely unrepresented group of women tricked into a relationship/marriage with the less obvious narcissistic man. It is a terribly destructive situation that has to deal with the false appearance of the relationship by others. The strong woman has little to no support and understanding and, strong women often is seen as the source of the toxicity, furthering the trauma suffered in such situations.

Great video. Explained a lot. I was in a short relationship (2 years) with my ex narc boyfriend. I am strong, independent, full blown career, been single for 13 years before dating him. He was very much like you described. Before the breakup I was already ignoring red flags….his inconsistencies in stories, silent treatment, mood swings, irritation, always having to be right, his anger. It wasn’t until I discovered that he had been secretly talking and texting an old old girlfriend that he told me he would never have anything to do with again and had blocked her?? When he told me why and claiming she had called him, I knew he was not telling me the whole story. Why the secrecy?? This is when I realized he was playing me and lying about our relationship too. When he realized I was leaving the relationship, he went into a rage and claimed that I was sick, needed help, needed a therapist, that I didn’t know who I was or what I wanted, was insecure and didn’t trust him. It was all very bizarre and coming at me very fast with so much hatred. I realized later, he was really projecting everything about HIMSELF onto me.

I never had the experience of dating different guys as I only had one boyfriend before my husband . So therefore I failed to see the red flags . After I got married his true colours slowly started to show . I also grew up with a bad tempered father who used to smash things when he was angry . My poor mother didn’t not cope and ended up with a nervous breakdown. I didn’t know any better because I thought it was normal for a man to be angry . Omg, I could write a book about me and my ex narcissist! This is totally on point. When we first started dating she was so charming, intelligent and beautiful. She told me she was so in love with me and wanted to be by my side all the time. It was a very passionate first 3 Mos and I was in heaven. Then she started pulling away, talking to exes, not bringing me around family and friends as often, flirting with other women in front of me then started the devaluing, I'm just paranoid, you're just jealous and I can't be with someone who is jealous...breakup..then come back after a couple months, love bomb...it goes on and on..I was to the point where she made me feel like I was wrong and maybe needed counseling. I lost myself. For a very long time. I moved away. She still contacted me and still is. Every time she contacts me the lovebombing starts again and I feel drawn to her like a frickin magnet. I know it's trauma bonding now, but part of me crazily wants to be back with her when she starts putting on the charm again...She has other exes still after her too..Crazy shit..

I was the perfect candidate for my covert narcissist. I was a highly successful corporate America woman with multiple sclerosis. Full disclosure, I'm lesbian and my partner was closeted, and I was out. Looking back she subtly starting chipping away with comments like "it's weird that you enjoy your alone time", "you like your dogs more than the girls" (she had two daughters when we met). As I hear these things, I take it to heart and alter. Then it progressed to "your childhood wasn't nurturing" which was her saying I wasn't nurturing. Before I knew it, I wasn't me anymore. I had been reduced to this neurotic, insecure shell of a person. I would have the occasional fleeting thought, "She's a narcissist," but I would dismiss it immediately because she didn't fit the mold of how society depicted a narcissist. She had moments of rage, and I hated how she spoke to our youngest daughter. I would repeatedly ask her to do better. She did rage towards our oldest daughter (the golden child). If I attempted any semblance of discipline in regards to the golden child, I was immediately reprimanded. The last 3ish years of our relationship, i started pushing back more. Any time the topic of her being closeted came up, she'd always say "you knew this about me when we met" and for years i accepted that. But the last few years, a light went off over my head, and I started responding with, "You knew i was out. Why was your circumstance the default?". Finally, after 14 years, two incidents during the pandemic and I just broke. I no longer cared if I upset her, I no longer was willing to bend myself into a pretzel to keep a momentary peace. I wasn't going to protect her alcoholic secret anymore ... I was done and ready to blow stuff up (figuratively, not literally). The things I learned about possible traits in covert narcissist. 1) They love to gossip about people. That's 98% of their verbal exchange with people. 2) They are rude, impatient no matter the setting. They truly believe the world revolves around them and they shouldn't have to wait their turn in line. 3) they consistently are not punctual. 4) past mistakes are free game when it's their partner's mistake but their mistakes "that was forever ago, you need to move on". I will say this, for me to truly heal, I needed her to enter my life and tear me down to nothing. When I left, I vowed that I would never ever be in another toxic relationship.

Hmm Narcisissists like being around people who tend to be more submissive as they do not like to be challenged, and they will also try to turn this person into a dependent hanger on. But if they have a stronger partner, they will also love to rise to the challenge of breaking this person down! They will try to get their ego supply and constant high, nonetheless, from anyone, anywhere. I have seen my parents at it. my mum went from an opinionated, bright eyed, stubborn and forthright person to a diminished, fearful, passive aggressive person. And she hates herself for it and dares not stand up to him, but take it out on her kids. I believe, she probably isn't the authentic, self-assured kind of confident to begin with. The real kind of immunity against narcissism is really empathy, real substance, and also emotional and physical distance away from this sort of toxic. Everyone experiences a downtime from time to time.. but a downtime caused by a narcissist will be prolonged and leave you more drained than anything. If know yourself not to be resilient enough, just stay away from them. You are just a statistic to them, but they can destroy you. To this day, I am extremely thankful to see how it had played out between my parents, and i stay the hell away from my father and parasites like him and really tell myself everyday to be myself, do my own thing, win my own battles, and that he is who he is, and I am whom I am. I'm really relieved that I don't detect the traits I see in him, on me.
