I just changed over after 17 years as a Diesel Mechanic to a Harley Tech and I have learned more by watching your videos than from anyone I've ran across. Very knowledgeable and I appreciate your willingness to educate and mentor. You make it very easy to take my experience as a Diesel Technician and apply it to Harley applications. I feel bad for you as a Harley Tech though as HD seems to always be cutting off their nose to spite their face - and the poor techs are the front line people who have to explain it to the customers! Thanks Doc. On my 12 FLHTK I use a TTS Mastertune. I have several copies of my stock (stage 1) and the tune that Mike Roland created for the Kuryakyn Prefect Storm. USB drive in the box with the tuner, a USB in my safe and copies on my Mac and the Windows Computer with the application. You can never have too many copies.. I'm thinking about switching to the Power Vision (hell DynoJet is only 10 miles from my house) and Fuel Moto exhaust. Love your content...

Thank you for this information. Software / tuneing on newer HDs are super sensible. Just for information what happened on my FLDE: After the battery broke down, the tuneing for stage 1 was lost also - why...??? maybe due to jump starting ??? The engine ran very rough. The HD dealership wasn't able to fix the problem. The tuner had to copy the programming (Mastertuner / TTS) again and after this everything ran smooth again.

Hello Doc. Thank you very much. All your videos have a lot of interesting information. I'm looking for a device for only doing maintenance to my HD Street Bob 2021. I'm not able to find one compatible with my bike and I have to go to the dealer (for example ABS Brake bleeding). Twin Scan 4 only works with 2011-2018 Softail models, not 2021. DynoJet Power Vision w/auto-tune module and wide band sensors has the stage one on my 103 is fantastic. Thought about screaming eagle but just went another route.

What if i brought my 08 Dyna with the orange, i guess older flash tuner, to a dealership to determine the what the last tune was. Will i have the same challange? Will the "older" tuner still work with a modern computer or do i need to upgrade my Harley tuner? Keep posting great content!

I want to bump up my 2022 Fatboy to Stage 1, Tabs Performance Zombie and modifying Air Cleaner to be External Breather w/catch can. I will ask my dealership since I've only had my Fatty for 1 month and don't want to hose up my warranty. What are your thoughts?

Mine is saved in my laptop but yeah you can download it to a portable. All my tunes are the staged maps then I always auto tune it a couple times from that while riding.

I have a 2019 FXLR I bought new in 2019. After several fitment adjustment, It is perfect for me. Just before the the 1K service, I installed a HD Stage 1 air clean and higher capacity S&S slip on mufflers and bought a HD Pro Street Tuner. So, at the 1k service, I had a HD dealer do a dyno tune. Fast forward to now; I have about 22k miles on my bike. I want to go to a Stage 2 but I don't want to lose the mapping from the 2019 dyno tune. How do I retain the mapping/tune currently on my bike for future reference and as the start point for my Stage 2 upgrade?

Hi Doc hope all is well. Really appreciate all the great information! I have maybe an odd question I have a 2016 SGS with the latest GTS with a WHIM. I only use the Harley Stamped Sena Headsets. When I hear Boom Audio Connected then plug my Phone in it will connect.... As soon as I start my bike it disconnects and I have to unplug and plug it back in and it will work. Also with Apple Car Play connected the Rider and Passenger Intercom do not work well at all. Can I not have both working at the same time? Thanks

Hey Doc just wanna ask you about the valve lash clearance on my Harley Street 750, In the service manual it is given for the intake 0.15mm-0.20mm and for exhaust 0.20mm-0.25mm, so how much should i set my valve lash at Minimum or Maximum or In Middle ?

Hello Doc, I just purchased a 2006 Fat Boy with a 120R. The guy I purchased it from upgraded everything to this bike, from the intake all the way down to the exhaust. The bike came with an old school Super Tuner Pro (the orange one) but I can't find the software for it. I went to my local HD dealer and they said my tuner was obsolete. I inquired about getting a new tuner (like the one featured on this video) but they said it wouldn't work on the 120R. What are your thoughts?

This might be a dumb question, but does that mean that the tuner is no longer "married" to the bike? I have a 2009 Rocker C with the Orange Tuner, 2014 Wide Glide with the Orange Tuner and a 2021 Street Glide with the black tuner. The orange tuner is a better tuner but no longer available

What if it was tuned(Stage 1) with the screamin eagle tuner with an old exhaust(V&H slip-ons), Arlon Ness air cleaner, and I am adding a new 2-1 Cobra El Diablo. How would I go about using the tuner(same one in this video) in that case

2020 Road King Standard, Oil Cooler Fan flashed by dealer, worked fine if unplugged speedometer will give a warning fan not connected which confirms its flashed.. Recently upgraded to stage 1 and flashed the bike at home with street tuner pro from harley and now my fan does not seem to be ENABLED, do I have to get it refreshed at the dealer for the fan ?

Hello Doc. if i'm understanding you correctly this is only a problem with the new tuners and new bikes. The screamin eagle tuners in my 2012 and 2016 are not affected by this. Does this mean that I could bring my bikes and tuners to get updated? Do I need to have them updated?

Hey Doc, I've got a question for you. What size is the left rear axle nut on the 2018+ Softails? I can't find any information about it, best I can measure is it's around 1 1/8th inches, but I want too be sure before I go buying expensive big sockets.

I had this tuner with a screaming eagle stage 2 cam. My bike ran like shit. The tune could never get right through the dealership. I had that crap removed and replaced with a woods xe cam and a power vision tuner. My bike has never run so good since the change over. I did not have a dealer do the rework.

I wish that was my only tuner problem, when I connect to the laptop and turn the ignition switch on the light comes on for a second on the Vci but goes off and the computer doesn’t sense the tuner. So I’m convinced that it’s the bike or tuner that’s messed up 😢

This won't help HD sales or image will it ?

how do you load the software onto laptop? It doesnt seem to accept the sn of the VCI do you know if this software works with Windows 11?

Strange you can't update the firmware while just connected to laptop like my tuner does. Meaning then it wouldn't delete the tune you've already flashed to your ECM. It's just a tuner module software/firmware update, not an ECM update if I'm understanding correctly.

Are those tuners limited to one bike? Can I use it to tune multiple bikes?

Hey Doc...I have a problem....this is kinda of a long explanation, so I'm sorry....I have a 2018 Ultra limited Low...a few weeks ago I went out to go riding...bike wouldn't start...so I put a charger on it for about 3 hrs (12v)...started...went riding...when I came home I rode up on my grass (gravel driveway), and went to put the bike up on my sidewalk..it had rained a few day before...I had the front tire up, but the back slid sideways, and I layed the bike down...gently...no damage...when it went down I immediately hit the kill switch...about 1/2 hr later i got the bike back upright, and started it... went to ride the next day, and it wouldn't start...figured my battery was bad...since then I've ordered and installed a new Lithium battery, from Harley Davidson...the website said the battery had to be charged...so i charged the battery last night...said 100%....However, the bike won't start...info screen won't even come up...and all i get is my 4 way flashers on....H E L P!!!! Doc I don’t understand if I go with a better tuner and cam and have my Harley dealership do all the work why should that impact the warranty Everyone knows on the new M8 engine a better tuner and torque cam that engine comes to life. Those Dyno results don’t lie

I just had a local Harley Davidson dealer installed a stage two kit on my 2015 road glide 103 they called me and said the screaming eagle tuner is not tuning the bike that it doesn’t work for the 103 does anyone know why?

Sounds like harley just keeps over complicating the screamin eagle tuner. You spend that much on a tuner that is limited it should be able to do all of that.

Could you find out what the rubber cover is all about on the brake lines of the 2022 models as per this video? He has replies that I feel are hurting Harley as you will read. It is just a rubber or shrink tubing cover over the brake line connection and some reviewers are saying how terrible it is and will never buy a Harley and all kinds of stupid guesses as to why it is there. You should be a little more careful while plugging in and unplugging tuners. That kind of carelessness is how bikes get scratched and beat up and it sucks for us who try and take great care not to do things such as this and get our bikes back from a service and low and behold damage appears but nobody did it……
