I am about a year into my studies for ABO certification. I chose to self teach while working through a two year apprenticeship. You have no idea how enormously helpful these videos are. Thank you for all the material.

This was another fantastic video. Subscribed. I'm not sure it answered my question about odd concave rays, but I still learned something. :) Thank you for your help.

Wow. Thank you. I'm pretty busy, though. What kind of commitment are you thinking?

Well, shoot. I'll address it directly, then! I draw only principal rays to prevent clutter. The curved mirror should be viewed as a plane mirror for every single ray that you choose to draw (incoming and outgoing angles away from the normal to the surface equal). The only difference from the curve is that the normal to the surface is NOT always parallel to the principle axis. Thanks for bearing with me.

I love the "turn your head pi/2" note

I see! That makes more sense now. You had mentioned that in one of your videos but it didn't quite click until after watching this video, so in the end it did help! :) What I'm really trying to understand is some complex philosophical thought problems I'm coming up with to explain the creation of the universe using spherical lenses and mirrors in weird combinations. I wonder if you're available to answer complex questions for a fee?

Hello, I have a question regarding the rays coming from the flower. The ray that you drew perpendicularly from the flower to the Mirror doesn't reach Newton's eye, right? But then you extended it to the back of the mirror and Newton is able to see the flower. So basically, it doesn't matter if the reflected rays from the mirror reach the eye or not? Because the rays are extended behind the mirror and Newton is able to see the image anyway? Is that how it works? Both the rays that reach his eye and the rays that don't reach his eye contribute to the formation of the image behind the mirror?

Reshma Sudhesh Great question. We see objects from rays that are often VERY close to parallel. When we draw ray diagrams, we locate images by using a variety of rays that may not ever appear to our eyes, just as you've said. It helps us picture how the light moves without the picture being too crowded and hard to draw.

There's a tiny mistake bout the flower lol --because all numbers of petals from a flower should be a term in a Fibonacci Sequence~ and 7 is not from the sequence...
