Watching this was a ride! It was lovely finally having Christmas special back again. So many new character moments that work so well, Ncuti and Millie are perfect for The Doctor and his partner in adventures Ruby.
I can't wait until May for the new series, however I'm so eager to delve back into the world of Classic Who too. More to come soon!

Re the Mrs. Flood thing. At the beginning of the episode Mrs. Flood didn't know what the TARDIS was, she complains about the police box being dumped there, and then by the end of the episode she knows it's called a TARDIS....so....I think the series is going to revisit this day somehow with some timey wimey shenanigans. Mrs Flood is going to get more involved somehow! I'm excited to see how

Ooh yes, I'd love that. I wondered if maybe she'd been replaced or something, as whilst editing I noticed she goes from being quite angry/annoyed/aggressive towards the other neighbour, but is then as nice as pie later on, a lot nicer and more of a character change. Yeah I'm very excited to see how and to see how it all ties together. Plus if maybe it ties with the Toymaker or a villain or even classic companion maybe

to be fair she may not know its a tardis until she sees inside and it move. but i do think its interesting that even without ruby she still lived in the same place and she was shocked when the tardis dematerialised

I feel like there was a shift with Mrs. Flood after The Doctor rescues baby Ruby. I suspect something changed for her as a result. Looking forward to seeing what she's all about!

Mrs. Flood could be What Toymaker meant by "My Legions are coming." as one last word game and warning. Her name may well be this because in ancient times, a legion of soldiers would sometimes be described as a FLOOD descending on their enemies.

@@MoviesWithMartysome people say she's a older Ruby but I feel like she's Ruby's mother like a older version because the lady under the hood look like she was to old to be Ruby's mother so it's possible maybe it's Ruby's mother and we have to remember they could not find a single drop of evidence on Ruby's mother even if Ruby's human her mother maybe from the future

Same here mate! I was excited previously with Tennants stuff, but felt like they were treading the past a bit. Then with classics I've been enjoying those a lot too. But yes, as a proper new Who change, this episodeel really worked for me! I hope you're well mate, great to see you here!

my theory is she is the Unit girl in chair, it has some logic, new tardis has a wheelchair "entrance", she is blonde, she is on wheel chair, she may join doctor on some adventure and end up in past beeing touched by an wheeping angel! :) makes logic right?

I'm guessing Russell T. Davis means running around the Tardis with the camera above. All the other companions had the camera following them as they ran around.

Possibly, however that both happens with Clara and Millie. The sequence is quite similar. Not the same, but it has shots very similar. Whilst the camera for Clara isn't directly above and so not identical, it's still a fairly top down shot. Thanks for watching Clementine!

Could miss flood somehow be Old Ruby? Because she didn’t know anything about the tardis until he came back from saving Ruby. Which could have cemented her being his companion, and now Miss flood would have new memories. She also says to the Doctor “Who are you?” Before he gets into the tardis, and before Ruby comes out and goes into the tardis and says “who are you?”

Good reaction! Something no one comments on and I really want to know about is the Doctor says in that opening scene, no one knew the mother's name until the Doctor came to call...... So... What's her name? He must have talked to her and whatever she said made him cry. I kind of wonder if Ruby is not real. Maybe she is a myth or fairy tale, too, and she will disappear when the 'Doctor makes mythological beings unreal again. Children are lost, abandoned, kidnapped, and eaten in fairy tales all the time.

Possible parallel with Chibnall’s Timeless Child, which most Whovians hated (but I think has a lot of potential for the future). He was left to be found, as was whoever Ruby turns out to be, and from where.

As a huge Beatles fan, I suspect the episode with them in it is set in 1965. It's certainly before their psychedelic era and it just looks mid-60s. I also think it's around the time of the Help! album and film. Firstly, the studio setting of that scene is reminiscent of a similar scene in the film, and secondly the title Help! is a plea for, well, help. The only anachronism I've spotted so far is John Lennon's wire-framed round glasses, which he didn't start wearing until 1966, but it's not a documentary so I accept a few inaccuracies here and there. It'll be an interesting episode, to be sure.

That's so interesting Andrew! Thanks for that. It could well be yeah. I just know we had leaks of Abbey Road looking imitations. Not the real one for some reason. Maybe it was too much of a stretch for one scene. Oh yes!! That would make sense if they were to use that and maybe there are hidden meanings in songs, or with this one it's quite literally with "HELP". Hmm that's so interesting. I feel like that's something they may have done on purpose potentially and it could be another link to all is not as it should be. Either that or its just a slight inaccuracy. Either way, it looks amazing! I can't wait to watch it as I love when they incorporate things like this from the past and The Beatles are brilliant! I may be watching "Hard Days Night" (and maybe their other films) on the channel in the future as it's been suggested to me. Thank you for watching Andrew, I'm hoping you enjoyed the video

Moffat and Mark Gatiss co-created _Sherlock,_ but I wouldn't say Doctors prior to Matt Smith were not Sherlockian. Eccleston and Tennant were very much deducers of things. Tom Baker had a very Sherlockian (although unfortunately racist, from what I've heard) episode.

My family collectively agreed this episode was a mess on first watch on Xmas Day. It's much better on a 2nd, 3rd or 4th rewatch. Pacing is off, sooo much is thrown at you that the plot is thin, The Goblins never confirm what they ultimately want & then they just disappear. The Davina bit is a clever idea because it gives a lot of essential exposition on Ruby which doesn't feel forced on the viewer, something Chibnall really struggled with in his era. I hate musicals mainly because when I'm watching a narrative story I like to imagine the world I'm watching is real. It's not real to be jumping up and singing & dancing The Sonic is damn awful. I'm shocked it's been changed so soon after the 60th, especially if I had bought the anniversary Sonic (Online exclusive anyone?) for myself or my kids I'd be pretty peeved right now but it's not a hill I will die on. Overall there is so much set up in this ep it's over the top & there are choices I didn't like however Ncuti is fantastic throughout 👌 I just accept him as the Doctor & think he is an inspired casting choice & cannot wait to see him really tested going forward. I think Mrs Flood is Ruby's mother, living out of order & probably being picked up by The Doctor for an adventure halfway through this ep in the future. RTD2 is definitely going to have a different approach with more of a fantasy element, let's see how it goes because they are now way into filming S2 so whether we like it or not we have 2 seasons/series of this approach going forward 🤔
