My Xmas day was March 13 when I watch the hdd recording, as I was away for Xmas. Mrs Flood is played by Anita, Lady May (born 29 April 1949), known as Anita Dobson, an English stage, film and television actress, and singer. You might know her husband as now Sir Brian May PhD in astrophysics, lead guitarist of Queen.

Nugati is fantastic as the Doctor and i rely liked his performance in his first full eposide and cant wait to see more of him in May glad u enjoyed it as well.

My only pet peeve was that Ruby seems not very worried aout the baby. I felt i was psnicking more than her, and its not even mine😅. Shes busy picking fights about hissing instead of grabbing the baby from those tykes.

What do they say when they killed Kenny? Stan would frequently use the catchphrase "Oh, my God! They killed Kenny!", followed by Kyle exclaiming "You bastard(s)!". Since the sixth season in 2002, the practice of killing Kenny has been seldom used by the show's creators. South Park reference to your Davina apparent killing. Kudos to your pointing out that diamond is made of carbon and also so many other details that I failed to acknowledge or question.

I liked the energy and relationship between Ruby and the Doctor . The family and fostering , especially when we saw what Rubys adoptive mum would have been she she vanished . The goblins and their potentially lethal tricks were reminiscent of another seasonal film but Christmas specials are usually one offs where plots are concerned .Davinas cameo was fun and Anita left more questions than answers . I'd guess Rubys biological mum will be a thread on the new series . I do enjoy your reactions and hearing your thoughts . We'll have to wait to find out , overall I liked this a lot .

My theory is Mrs. Flood is definately a Time Lord but is it someone we know or a completely new character and is she friend or foe that is the question?

35:30 The only contact it looks like Anita Dobson has had in the past with Doctor Who is that she voiced a character named Eileen Klint in an Eighth Doctor audio story, titled Blood of the Daleks, back in 2006. I don't know if she's supposed to be reprising that character in some way, or if it was just a nod to her having technically acted in Doctor Who before. I guess we'll find out.

I think Ruby does indeed drop off baby Ruby, but isn't her mum. So far my only theory is that it's like the social worker dropping of Lulubelle. As for Mrs Flood - perhaps connected to The Meep's boss or the Toymaker. ETA congrats on the 1000 subscribers :)

I liked the episode as it is, I didn't enjoy it first watch but watching these videos I find myself enjoying it a bit more. Overall its not good as a first episode.. compared to David for example. But I love the characters in this episode and the old lady at the end!

It felt “so fresh” it lost more viewers with each episode from the 60th celebration onwards until this shockingly low 4.7 million viewers for a Christmas Day special? This Doctor is aimed at an increasingly SMALLER audience and that’s the problem here? They are aiming at smaller cliques and ignoring the many who used to watch. We all loved Captain Jack AND we got a good story which gave us all a hearty meal to enjoy. But this is soo blatantly playing to a tiny part of the fan base (almost to a fan fiction level) that by definition it’s leaving the mass of fans behind? It’s like some people love spicy food but if you serve nothing but spicy food in your restaurant then you get a very small and select clique of fans who are also quite intolerant of the majority of non spicy food lovers. The irony of inclusion is that it doesn’t want to include the majority. With the current Doctor Who that only works if tiny fan bases like 4.7 million Christmas viewers worth are acceptable to corporate level? I’m guessing they still want those 8-10 million viewers they got under Ecclestone, Tennant and Smith’s Doctors? For myself, I still think Ncuti Gatwa’s gonna become the Valeyard or something like certain rumours say, because they still have that alternative timeline “mavity” thing going on! And since Anita Dobson’s character broke the fourth wall at the end I think something is afoot with this “in show” timeline and that explains the changed sonic screwdriver, spare TARDIS and magic leaning universe based on salt etc. Anita Dobson could be anyone from Susan to Romana or the Rani I guess? Or another Master? Of course Chibnall left loads of interesting red herrings in his seasons...and paid off none of them....😅
