I’m a 29 year old female who works in forensics and let me tell you, you have gotten me through some stressful times. I don’t see anything gory in my day to day (I work with drugs), but sometimes it’s a lot to handle. Coming home, eating dinner and just watching your channel to get a few laughs in before bed help me power through some terrible depression and burnout. Congrats, Dr. Mike & Team! 🎉 I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist graduate student and I think it would be amazing if you did a series where you interview, learn and/or experience other medical professionals and what they do. As someone who will be part of the rehab side of things, a lot of people do not know what we do and I think many would find it informative and fun coming from you :) There’s OT, PT, SLP and many others too doing incredibly important work that people have no idea exist in the medical setting! Keep it up!

Absolutey briliiant idea. My sister suffered a brain injury and is currently in a rehabilitation program, and I had no idea there were so many different types of therapists involved. Most people are only aware of the medical side of recovery, so it would be interesting to learn about the next (and much longer) step.

@@sarab2324 thank you! And yes, I’ve heard that many SLPs get the “I can speak just fine” but we do a lot more than “fixing” speech. We work with cognition, swallowing, motor speech, fluency, hearing, AAC, voice disorders, pragmatics, etc. In the medical setting, a lot of what we do is working with people with Dysphagia (swallowing disorders) and aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, etc. I hope Dr. Mike is able to do a series about rehab side of things and shed some light 🤓❤️

I am in constant awe with Dr. Mike in that not only does he provide us entertaining, informative content, but he is also a brick and mortar doctor, on top of all his side activities - boxing, podcasts, AND keeping up with his own health goals!! Mike, I don't know if you'll see this comment before it gets buried in the avalanche of other comments, but I just want to say thank you for all you do. I was mentally in a bad place last year, when I came across your video with Dr. Espina about him going to medical school at 37, and that really spoke to me. I realized then that being 39 wasn't too late for me to change, and I had wanted to go into the medical field when I was younger, so I gathered my courage and went for it. I found a paid apprenticeship through my local hospital system, and just recently became a licensed CNA/PCA, with opportunities for further education as my work experience grows! 😊 I never would have found the courage to do that if not for you, and I'm deeply grateful for that. I actually plan on sending a physical thank you card to the P.O. box you have listed, but I thought it'd be fitting to thank you here, too. Congratulations on 10 million subscribers, and may you get at least ten million more. ❤

@Awalsh147 a Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Assistant. I'll be able to transfer to one of Medical Assistant or LPN apprenticeships later on, and if things work out, the hospital system will eventually have a program leading to RN.

The difference between Mike and a lot of other channels is that he focuses on getting a lot of views to spread awareness whereas a lot of youtubers focus on getting a lot of views because they want attention. Mike is such a genuine guy and you can tell he really cares about his followers and the people in his life!

Although my YT Channel is on hold for a few months now (for being a one man army is really tough), you should know that you are a huge inspiration and the reason I went back to Medicine after leaving my residency program three years ago. DR MIKE I LOVE YOU! 🏊‍♀️🛟👩🏻‍⚕️🧸🧸. I’m a professional swim lesson instructor and I love your videos! I tell my students about what to do in a pool accident or water emergency. I have to renew my CPR/First aid every two years and I do great on the tests. I’m 20 and I started teaching when I was 15. Every summer is crazy fun and I never get enough money to make it through then school year without going into debt. I have to hibernate like a grizzly bear 😅

I remember finding your channel months before the pandemic. I was just starting my back to school journey to become a physical therapist assistant. And I just remember how fun, and funny, and informative your videos were and I was like, "this guy has the whole package". And I hope I can be a fraction of the clinician he is when I'm done with school. Now I'm a week away from taking my final exam and starting my full-time clinicals. And you have hit 10mil subs. Wow, you sound really busy!that’s a lot going on on top of being a Dr I’ve learnt a lot from your videos, I spend a lot of time in the hospital and see about a dozen drs (mostly specialists). They’ve saved my life countless times. I’ve been lucky to have great healthcare where I live, it’s horrible not everyone has that opportunity Ive thought of becoming a patient advocate since I’ve learnt to advocate for myself over the years and when some family has been sick I’ve advocated for them as well I appreciate all the time you put in to help people learn things they can do and speak out against medical misinformation

Wow, I can’t believe I’ve been here almost since the beginning. I remember the first video of yours I watched was your a day in the life with Roxy! I started watching your videos periodically when they popped up in my recommendations but never really went on your profile. I just assumed you’d been making content for a really long time because (espacially for that time) your content was super professional. Then came the first medical tv shows reviews and meme reviews and I started watching you more frequently, waiting for uploads every week. And now you have 10 mill! Congratulations! and this is why Dr. Mike is one of the only medical person that you can actually rely on without thinking he's selling out or going for only money.. unlike people who are on main media like Dr Oz or the other doctors on TV shows that just teach you bullshit or push harmful products on you because of sponsors

Im so happy that a channel like this one here has gotten to such a point, most times channels like this dont grow this fast or they then stop growing in a while. You have given people so much information just by debunking some stuff on the internet. I am 12 years old and I have been watching you for a few months, but i have wanted to become a doctor since the age of 4 and because I used to be abused and I suffered from both depression and anxiety I always thought I could never keep going and I just wanted to give up. I really liked this one, especially the transparency and honesty in detailing your journey. I have always watched your content, but had no idea that you reached that number in only five years. Holy poop, that's impressive! I have been doing this for over a year and still have less than 3.5k subs, but terrible viewership xD The burnout is absolutely insane, working as a teacher amd trying to create content and promote it all at the same time. I've seen some of your reaction videos, some of the videos with your dog, the one where you compete against the "emotional damage" guy, the "draw my life" video, and where you showed what it was like being dr during the pandemic. I enjoy the interesting medical facts you give to the viewers. I think it would be cool if you talked to kids at schools too. Keep up the good work!
