Episode 5: Demolition is progressing well. More urbexers are coming to check out the building. Gone are the long nights I spent here alone. Heaps more trashy graffiti tags are popping up but thankfully, a few of the good graffiti pieces too. Ben tries to stir up the guards and leaves me with them.
We know it's not ours but the Nedlands REGIS apartment complex has become somewhere we can go to feel peace, to recover from this fkd up world. A place we think about way too much, with urges to go back for hours at a time. There's something about this place that we love and can't get enough of. It's hard to imagine we'll ever get another big hit like this place again!
For me, aside from being the only place I could go to help me cope, I wanted to document any and every change I saw and just about everytime I did go back, there was something new to find and photograph.
But the place was starting to get hot. Urbexers to trashy kids graffiting crap and smashing the place up... the days were getting busier. Gone were the days were I would roam the complex alone and sometimes throughout the night. More groups were starting to visit and the nights were securely patrolled.
But it's all over now. The place is mere history. Demolished. Kaput. What an epic time we had there, especially over the glorious summer! All 51 visits.
(FYI: Episode 1 is yet to be created. Planned as more of a historical document based on our extensive research, we need to work out whether or not we ought to obtain a microphone, then do our research or just hire someone who's voice doesn't suck!)
