My dad and his brother both had one of these a while back and I think my dad had a 2.2 turbo and his brother had a 2.5 turbo they took those things on so many trips and stuff and dad had his in the air a few times hardly a dent! The things are bulletproof!!

I had an 88 Dodge Daytona Pacifica with Turbo. She was black and real pretty when I got her. I bought it as a program car - practically new. Hard to believe that car would be an antique now! It had a lot of performance at first but then everything started breaking down on it and I got rear-ended by a drunk. I eventually let her go. I haven't see one on the road here in some time. Good luck with that project Corey!

Pumper Wheels! Remember they are for the left and the right, very expensive to make them that way...I think that is a 2.2l Turbo. I had an 89 Daytona Shelby. That car will need a LOT of work. Take it all the way down, and send me the body to media blast!

Excellent choice for a project car! Be grateful that it doesn't have t-tops... You'd never find replacement trim pieces for it. I've still got my 89 Daytona Shelby 2.2L TII 5-speed with t-tops (I've kept it in a time capsule ever since I updated to an SRT-4 ACR in 2006). You've got arguably the best powertrain configuration to begin with, the heavier Daytona can really put the extra torque of the 2.5L to good use, and it's easier to install an intercooler and have a do-it-yourself Turbo II setup than it is to start with an intercooled setup and add the displacement (edit: I had a bunch of info but I removed it because I see that you're no stranger to these cars). Have fun with that awesome car and be safe! I never thought I'd say this, but these cars are pretty rare now (edit: oh yeah, and be safe for health reasons too).

Its very easy to make your own trim peices idiot thats what i did with mine. Love my t top daytona. But i actually build and fix my car and not just bolt on fixes like you do or pay other people to fix it. U cant use health as sn excuse u just have no skill or know how to fix a car. Unless u can just bolt a part on. I build my own parts if i cant buy them.

It’s amazing how many Dodge Daytona is they were on the road back in the late 80s early 90s. All of them are gone. The motors and the transmissions were weak. I had a 1988! Dodge shadow ES. Beautiful car but what a piece of junk. Bought the car brand new. Everything went off on that car. I sold it with 39,000 miles on it and I was so glad to get rid of it. The Daytona’s body still looks good today . Dodge Daytona is were one of my favorite cars in the 80s.

I currently own a civic that I got with 67,000 miles, and have owned about 30 cars since my 1990 Daytona, And that Dodge only left me stranded once in 5 years.(idler pulley siezed & threw belt, waited an Hr in a parking lot to cool, and was only blocks from a parts store) Put 60,000 plus mostly trouble free miles, with a 1000w stereo on stock alt! Most reliable car ive owned to this day ! Had a turbo one and an showroom condition omni I got 87,000 miles and $400 bucks, 2nd most reliable car right there

@@That_AMC_Guy How about the MAP sensor or the vacuum lines to it?
@That_AMC_Guy
@That_AMC_Guy 4 жыл бұрын
@@CoreysCave Been having a hard time finding a Turbo-specific map sensor. I tried an N/A sensor but the car ran like crap. All vacuum lines have been replaced and I have one big vacuum line running to a vacuum block mounted on the fender just below all the solenoids. Vacuum is fine.... sensor might be the issue.

EGR valves can leak around stem causing rough idle. Also you can try pinching the fuel supply rubber hose at the engine while it’s running. This raises the fuel pressure. If idle smooths out you have an fuel injector issue
