I board alot of those style of vessels when they make their way down to Australian waters. The people are beautiful and live basic. Your vids are excellent and I too love being at sea at night albeit on Patrol boats. Nothing like sunrise and sunset on the water. Luv Pete

I agree with you that night sailing is a whole different ballgame. I assume that you are using night vision binoculars. A quality set is a valuable tool that can save a lot of grief. Your content is always entertaining and informative. Much luck and keep up the good work.

They are just beautiful those ships :) We loved SE Asia...spent years there, but glad to be away from all of that boat traffic. They want to know the same answers you want to know about them ;) Be careful...in SE Asia, the red and green is very often reversed...or like you say...different colors entirely! -Rebecca on SV Brick House

The smoke you are seeing is just like what we have been getting in bad years from the forest fires in BC and Alberta. Since we are only 40 miles from Saanich you would probably get it too, if you were home. We used to spend much of our summers in the islands. (yours and ours) Keep on having fun and exploring everywhere you go Really enjoy your travels.

I fear all life in the oceans is being decimated by over fishing, and pollution far whores than anyone knows. I am a fisherman from Java, I used to cross the sea of Java when the sea of Papua used a GT200 ton traditional boat, and the boat in the video is usually called a boat building from East Java in the area of Muncar.

you guys inspired me to have a sailboat for myself and do voyage in my own country. Indonesia is a country consists of so many island yet i haven't done sailing my self seeing how beautiful my country is. It's kinda a bummer knowing my ancestor was one of the toughest sailor of the sea, kingdom majapahit is known for their fleet yet i'm not seeing indoesian as powerful or enthusiast as the stories back then. Sailing and boat is only used for commercial tour, business, fishing, etc. I'd really like to have my own someday and sail the java seas

I guess you would have to protect your dingy by installing an alarm, tracking device on both the motor and dingy and lock the motor up to the hull as well as lock the dingy up to the dock when you go to town. You also need to connect your tracking device to your cell phone so that you can track it if it starts moving. Is that correct?

Not trying to be a smart ass or disrespectful at all just truly want to know what a few of the challenges might be that they dont show in their videos? I'm planning a trip down the east coast from maine to Florida and then to some islands maybe and I'm saving the money for it my boats only 23ft so the fuel will be pretty cheap most I can put on the outboard bracket is a 5hp lol but I'm a seasoned off shore fishermen here in the gulf of maine it's truly the real deadliest catches more fishermen die every year in the gulf of maine then in Alaska or anywhere in the USA so I know about weather wind and tides and know what my boat can handle also I have already sailed it with comfort in seas that the data sheet says would have sunk it and it was just fine so I know what not to do what will be things that a sailor would know that a fisherman wouldnt know about the ocean and the wind and tides?

Those boat are so amazing! Like a box of crayons 🖍 floating on the sea...that’s why these climate treaties never work, they only force Europe. USA , Australia Canada and everyone else gets a pass and yet they are the biggest polluters...as you can not so clearly see from the results....love it. Be safe

Yes in asia, especially indonesia, the traditional fisherman doesn't follow the rule of colreg about the light. So be careful. And yes, few months ago, we suffer from the burning forest. Hope we can realize that we must keep our world green and be nice with nature.

Love your videos. Thank you for sharing the world with all of us. Sad to see the pollution. I read somewhere (not sure it’s accurate) that the USA is reasonable for 10% of the worlds pollution. However I feel the USA is responsible for much more, as consumers who want to buy cheap inexpensive items from other undeveloped countries, like palm oil from Borneo. Let’s all do better
