If I was willing to get use all my beard hair on neck it's relatively thick what's a solid estimate on how many grafts I'd get I see some use beard grafts and take 8-900 hairs while keeping the beard.

That’s one of the easier cases I’ve seen you do because he has great hair to begin with, no hair line work needed, wish I had that hair. Excellent work as usual

Hi I had a front line restoration 3 years ago I told the doctor to follow my original hair line so when it grows it blends well with my native hair he messed up with direction and had lots of 2 hair grafts in the front instead of single hairs plus the directions to is there any repair surgery where we could redirect the hair grafts via fue and split the 2hair grafts 2ones thanks from my practice it’s hard 4hard to get good growth into scar tissue

Hi Telf, Yes, repair is likely very possible for your case. Typically the best thing to do is actually put more hair around the areas in question opposed to removing and trying to reuse grafts. Sometimes you have to do it, but we can often correct these issues by carefully transplanting more in and around the prior transplants. Great Work, as usual ! Dr.Bloxham I have some questions about FUE HT 1.Is it normal for transplanted hair to start falling since day 7 after FUE procedure or is it to early? What is the difference between graft shedding and graft falling ? 2.If I use minoxidill after surgery, will it speed up the growth of hair transplanted and when can I use minoxidill on transplanted area after the surgery ? 3.What is your opinion on hair mesotherapy ? Thanks

Hi N, 1) Yes, it is not abnormal for grafts to shed this early. I think both these terms are likely referring to the same thing: the newly implanted graft releasing the hair shaft as it goes into a resting phase for several months before waking and growing new hair. The term you want to avoid is a "graft dislodging." This means a graft was "knocked out" prematurely and will not grow. This is a very specific situation and you would likely be very aware that it occurred. 2) Probably not. I allow my patients to return to normal minoxidil usage on day 10. 3) Not enough data out there to recommend it, and I have never been a big fan of injecting things like this into the scalp. Appreciate the video, always an education, but I don't think the example you used is a good one actually. Most people don't have that much hair in the recipient site to just add in some transplanted hair. Sure, of course this is a convenient example to the question about "will it look natural" because, like you said, the patient already had tons of hair where you're placing the extracted hair. What we need is examples of patients where they aren't starting with that much hair in the recipient region.

I think it can look unnatural when you had no hairs before. Hairline restauration in these cases is mostly bad. You can also see at Wayne Rooney and others that they had a HT. I dont know why you cant work with thinner and thicker don. hair to make it more realistic. Its still mostly bad imo.

I would rather see several very bald Norwood 7 cases. There is much less donor and this will show what a truly bald person would get. That guy was one who had tons of hair to start with. The results I have seen including my own as I was botched in the 1980s with Flaps, Scalp Reductions and Punch Grafts along with strip are much thinner. Think Joe Biden. I have a much much thinner overall result because I started balding at 19. Now at 54 I have a lot of hair but still lots of scarring as well.

Hi David, Thank you for watching and commenting. We do try to showcase a variety of cases, so stay tuned for higher Norwood videos and repair cases down the road. Sorry to hear about the old work. Even in 2019, we still routinely see flaps, reductions, and plugs requiring repair. Thankfully with FUT, FUE, and typically some modified harvesting thrown in as well, we are able to still get out good grafts and really make a difference.
