FUE Hair Transplant Gone Wrong! Can it be Fixed? | Dr. Bloxham | Feller & Bloxham, NY, NYC, LI

FUE -- Follicular Unit Excision or Follicular Unit Extraction -- is a good procedure which may be great for patients when performed by an experienced, ethical doctor. But in the wrong hands, FUE can create very poor results and ruin precious donor areas! With cheap, technician-run FUE being performed en masse overseas and clinics buying "turn key" FUE solutions to break into hair transplants, we are seeing a massive amount of poorly performed FUE requiring repair. And this was the situation with the patient in this video.
As explained by Dr Blake Bloxham of Feller & Bloxham Medical, PC (www.fellermedical.com) , the patient scheduled a procedure with a very well established plastic surgeon in his area. When he showed up the day of surgery, however, he learned the doctor simply bought a "turn key" FUE solution and did not actually take part in the surgery. The surgery was performed entirely by two unlicensed technicians flown-in from another state. The surgery was performed completely wrong and the results in both the recipient area and the donor area were very poor. The patient had an unnaturally straight and thin hairline built almost exclusively with multi-haired grafts, and an overharvested donor area. He knew he needed repair and wanted to switch to FUT to avoid more damage in the donor area. So he contacted Dr. Bloxham to fix his prior 2,000 graft FUE. Dr Bloxham utilized a broken up or modified FUT technique to remove over 2,100 grafts and completely rebuild the previously transplanted frontal band area.
The patient returned 6 months later and we believe the results speak for themselves. Clearly, the FUE could be fixed! Dr Bloxham not only presents this case, but also goes over some crucial information for any young patient considering FUE or any patient who finds themselves in a similar situation to the gentleman in this video.

Everybody is talking about Verteporfin, and I just want to compliment you on what a great job you did. It's definitely one of my biggest concerns, not just spending a lot of money on a hair transplant, but also getting a poorly done one. Good job!

Guys, I hope you would agree that the result should be presented in two conditions. Firstly the result should be presented in an absolutely dry condition, and then the results should be presented in a wet condition. Sometimes a bad results if wet can be displayed as good, we need to avoid that risk by providing a dry condition too.

Great result, but if I were the patient I would've definitely opted to just get a tiny bit of temple work done. The temple points angling backwards, and making a very acute angle with the frontal hairline don't match 100% with how low the hairline is

Hasson & Wong claim to be able to reach a density of 85-100 hairs per square centimeter. Is that true and, if so, are you able to do the same?

That would depend on the thickness of the follicle. But, 100 per square centimeter sounds unnecessary and hard for all the follicles to get proper blood supply.

@@Islanders83 Why would it be hard for all of the follicles to get blood supply? A normal density for a European man is about 100-120 hairs per square centimeter. Clearly the scalp has no problem supplying blood to areas that are that dense and unaffected by AGA, so why would there be an issue supplying enough blood if that density was reached with transplantation?

@@tomcotter4299 my mistake. I meant grafts, not hairs. Grafts can have 1-3 hairs per graft. That’s what I was thinking.

The FUE procedures I see from Turkey are the same frontal round hairline design where there is no gradation in the front meaning with a jagged front hairline and being too low. For me it does not look natural. You must get a lot of repair work from procedures done in Turkey?

Did he go to a cheap Turkish clinic. Please answer. I have a very strong donor and it’s my only hope. I can’t tolerate high dosage of dutasteride, I am on topical and am doing better. I need every graft to survive. I am only interested in FUE.

Honestly, if you don't want to expose those doctors at least give us contact for the guy himself so that he can expose them. This should be illegal and any doctor who done this shit to his patient should be barred from doing HT again.

Can the guy get SMP for the back of his head? He had nice hair did he really need a hair transplant in the first place? I think doing hair transplants on young people under 30 is not a great idea.
