Just wanna add a little something : While CA spam is generally his best combo, N2C (2 normal attacks followed by a charged attack) is quite a bit easier to execute because you can buffer a lot of the inputs, whereas CA spam needs inputs at the right moment, and N2C isn't far behind, and is actually slightly better if your CA spam inputs are slow enough to miss one charged attack on top of letting you stack a stronger shield if you're using Thoma, so if you don't want to put in the time to learn the timing for CA spam, or if you just wanna start with something easier, you should use N2C instead of CA spam.

i enjoy using him purely due to favoritism HOWEVER it is quite annoying that he can raise altitude but not lower. in abyss it's not too bad bc its all flat in there but often in overworld he ends up too high up to aim at enemies that are obviously well within his horizontal range even if he barely goes up

If faruzan skill can generate a particle by simply tapping it I think she is gonna be a lot better But nope mihoyo decide to make us use charge attack to generate a particle 💀

After finally getting C6 Faruzan from this banner, I can confidently say, yes, my god C6 Faruzan is necessary. The difference is night and day. More damage bonus, more energy regeneration, off field damage that can proc elegy passive and tenacity set, and decent crowd control. My wanderer is finally happy.

Reality Is PAIN

He has been my most valuable pull by far in this game. The amount of time saved by exploring and doing commisions with him in insane. He's also fun af, he's by far my most used unit ever.

I've noticed that when fighting enemies with elemental shields, the dash is worth doing and shreds shields faster.

I Remember when his banner first came out, I got 3 gorous and 5 yanfei and not a single faruzan

I do find venti in wanderer's team great for solving a ton of wanderer's glaring issues, and unlike xiao, venti's sucking ability aint hindering wanderer's ability to hit things. Not recommended against boss monsters ofc.

Man Faruzan has only been on a limited banner once, the debut banner of Wanderer...and I pulled on that banner 137 times...and I only got ONE Faruzan. So that plus the free Faruzan, I have C1 Faruzan... I want C6, but man, chasing 4 stars are the worst, way worst than getting a 5-star lol

Gonna put this out there as some personal experience on C6 vs not C6 Faruzan. I just pulled C6 Faruzan after being stuck with double C3 Faruzan and Wanderer for a year and play tested him in the current Abyss - the difference is night and day. The CC, the energy to Burst every rotation, the rotation speed up from not using E + CA, and the added damage are absolutely insane and make a huge difference. He felt extremely mid before but now feels competitive in terms of clear times with some of my best teams.

Since this game is 90% overworld anyway, I think his pull value is extremely high unless you only do spiral abyss

At first I was not sure about him but now I do not regret it at all. He is the perfect character to use against annoying enemies. He is good against highly mobile or flying enemies like Thundering Manifestation, Aeon Blight Drake, Wolflord, etc. He is also good in chambers that have spread apart enemies because he can just sit in the center and hit all of them from anywhere.

I thought I would regret pulling for him but even before I got c6 faruzan, he became one of my favorite characters❤ the overworld utility is unmatched, plus the teams are suprisingly ok even when not using him as hypercarry

i love wanderer. he works amazing with bennett as a burst dps. he can do reactions with EVERY element and he summons a literal GOD to do his damage, it's insane. plus he even has so many f2p polearm options, peak character. easy to get with 10% drop rate

I pulled for c6 faruzan but only got c5 and a wanderer constellation. The event faruzan was a gift from the gacha gods for me. I already had a lost prayer from standard then got another after the event, which technically turned him into my most invested unit

why do you keep ca spamming if it un groups the enemies, i dont get it. i had no problem playing him first half this abyss with kazuha faruzan bennet, he does not un group enemies unless you keep ca spamming that clip of him un grouping the husks was actually painful, please play him better. ca spam is sometimes fine but why do it if it actively hinders you you also downplay his cons are lot, i feel like higher invest stuff isn't really your forte...

My favourite thing to do with Scara is place down Guoba and float next to it watching it kill enemies like Guoba is Anakin Skywalker and Wanderer is The Emperor lol 100% worth

C1 Wanderer & C6 Faru haver here. C6 Faruzan is not *necessary* but my god does it change literally everything on how you play those two characters. It's absolutely night and day the difference in play satisfaction. Still dirty how Hoyo made her like this.

C6 FAVuzan takes wanderer from okayge to one of the strongest and most versatile hypercarries in the game.

I consider Wanderer one of the 5 star characters with the highest pull value, provided someone is willing to invest in him a lot and aim to Faruzan C6 in the long term (which is tide to his banner), taking a little risk in case of very bad luck (it sucks that there is no way to have copies of specific 4 star characters guaranteed). Luckily, he has good early constellations, and this makes chasing Faruzan C6 easier. Aside from the great value he provides when travelling and exploring (I won’t talk about that, because other people did, and Wanderer’s value from this point of view is already widely known), that alone makes him have a good pull value, he is the most efficient, comfortable, reliable and consistent damage dealer. So, when investing in him enough, we get a character who can carry in almost every possible Abyss line-up (with enemies immune to Anemo being the only hard counter to his teams). All of Wanderer’s attacks have some AoE (and his teams have great compatibility with other Anemo characters used for grouping the enemies with great efficiency, like Venti and Kazuha). He can attack all the time from a distance and at a rapid pace, and his Normal Attacks have fast projectiles with good tracking (this, aside from the obvious advantage against mobile enemies, also make him able to easily clear encounters with groups of enemies and multiple waves, in less time that is necessary, even when we cannot slot someone for grouping the enemies in his teams). He can enter in his high damaging stance without needing energy and on a very short cooldown. He can use Bennet without having to worry about having to leave his circle if the enemy moves a little. He has great mobility and doesn’t have to worry about Stamina, ever. Being an Anemo damage dealer also means not relying on reactions for dealing damage, which can be a pro that makes the damage dealer compatible with a wider variety of encounters. Some enemies have their own elemental aura that interferes with reactions, Wanderer doesn’t care. The enemy has good mobility or flies, Wanderer doesn’t care. Being able to be a hypercarry, also means that Wanderer can have almost all of the team’s damage on his shoulders, this makes the team damage very receptive to the investment we put on him. This is great if someone is willing to invest a lot on him. This also means that his support characters can be focused on energy efficiency, with higher than needed ER, with a negligible difference of team damage, which is great when the damage dealer can deal elemental damage all the time, has a low cooldown, high damaging stance, and doesn’t need energy to use it. Wanderer has great compatibility with most shielders, most support characters and off-field damage dealers, of any swirl-able element. They can help with shield breaking and allow his teams to be extremely adaptable. This also makes him a very future proof character, with teams potentially evolving and allowing him to better adapt to future content. Wanderer is very vulnerable to interruption while in flight, but he can still be used without a shielder for speed-runs, relying on his A4 procs for evading attacks. What’s more important, though, is that usually is better to just slot a shielder, and his teams lose an insignificant amount of DPS for doing that. When using a shielder, Wanderer can use the A4 procs offensively for dash cancels, this can increase his damage per rotation significantly, as performing dash cancels correctly generally doesn’t reduce the amount of Normal/Charged Attacks he is able to perform every rotation, the A4 projectiles are potentially almost entirely extra damage per rotation, and they get better at C1, to the point that in single target the damage difference between using Yun Jin C6/Jean C4, or using Layla C6/Thoma C6, is negligible. Wanderer isn’t even reliant on Zhongli at all. Thoma C6 is a little better for team damage, he is a great upgrade for the team’s energy efficiency (the Pyro particles helps lowering significantly Bennet’s ER needs, and he doesn’t have any energy issue at C4+), his shield has 100% uptime and can be strengthened/refreshed/recreated from off-field with Wanderer’s Normal Attacks. Pyro Resonance and the Normal/Charged Attack DMG Bonus cannot be disabled and don’t have a range limit, unlike Zhongli’s RES shred. Layla C6 as a shielder has the highest ceiling when it comes to team damage, but the encounter doesn’t always allow to absorb both Cryo and Pyro reliably with Wanderer’s Skill (enemies with their own elemental aura obviously interfere with the possibility of choosing the second element for Wanderer’s A1). Layla also allows Bennet to use Freedom Sworn, without stealing any time after activating Bennet’s buffs, with this setup it is really easy and consistent in single target, and with it she naturally funnels Favonius’ particles to Bennet: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ruBxiK2Qvs20lYE.htmlsi=lu4k7agORh-U3dOk. With this setup, Wanderer remains without a shield for a moment before landing, but it is still much better than having no shield at all. Usually, I prefer to just use Thoma C6 as Wanderer’s shielder, despite the lower team damage, for the comfort and the consistency, but Layla is great nonetheless. Written setup for the team with Layla (explained): Faruzan > Layla Q and E (being both active, extra Night Stars are generated by Q) > Bennet E (his E removes the Cryo aura, and takes the number of Night Stars from 2 to 4, this causes them to be fired) > Bennet Q (delayed by about 0.5 seconds to allow the first Shooting Star to reach the enemy, applying the Cryo aura) which removes the Cryo aura again (it also activates Freedom Sworn’s passive if using it) > Scaramouche CA (while he performs the Charged Attack, Layla’s Burst applies Cryo to the enemy, and Bennet’s Burst applies Pyro to our character) > Scaramouche E (gets both Cryo and Pyro buff). A little tip for increasing the odds of activating Favonius passive with Layla: instead of Q E, you can do Q N1 E. The N1, not only counts as an extra hit for Favonius’ passive, but also makes Layla do a step forward, making much easier for her to hit the enemy with his E (that has a very small range on the initial hit). Wanderer greatly raised my standards about how efficient the characters I pull for need to be. I have him at C1 with Faruzan C6. So, I’m just hoarding Primogems for future great characters, and if there aren’t enough of them to spend my Primogems I can get a great upgrade for Wanderer with his C2.

If you have Wanderer’s C1 you should really do the dash cancels when the A4 is available. It is a significant DPS gain. Dash cancels should be performed when the A4 is available, after either N2 or N3, if you do it correctly the dashes won’t reduce the number of Normal Attacks Wanderer can do, probably you’ll do one less Normal Attack because you won’t perform them perfectly, but they will still be a significant DPS gain. Remember, the A4 has to be already available, don’t just dash as soon as you hear the sound. Another thing to remember is to avoid staying attached to the enemy when attacking, keep a little distance, this allows the third Normal Attack to count as 2 hits for the A4 instead of 1, significantly increasing the chances it has to proc. Lastly, if you are really fast with your dash cancels, and you manage to dash before the N3 projectiles reach the enemy, those 2 hits from N3 will already count for the next A4 proc. This is how you can significantly increase the chances of A4 chains to happen on N3, but is hard to execute. A combo that will almost always give you the A4 proc, is N3N2D (as long as you keep a little distance from the enemy). This is 3 or 4 (depending on Attack Speed) A4 dash cancels almost guaranteed, for about 120k damage in the Hypercarry team with Bennet, Faruzan C6 and Thoma. The damage increase you can get with dash cancels at C1 when you have a shielder, is enough to make the difference between using Yun Jin or using Thoma C6 in the flex slot negligible, the damage will be almost the same.

Tried wishing for kokomi and c6 faruzan only to end with c7 rosaria and c9 yanfei (both of them were c6 before this) and lost 50/50 to Deyha

Mind that for Fopl set you dont need crazy stats just EM and ER really. I spent only 2 or 3 month farming for my wanderer there. And mother freaker is 70%/200% already. I left that domain with 1 wanderer cracked set and 2 FOPL good sets for Kuki and Thoma.

I've had Xiao since his release, and I'd say that Faruzan only starts being worth building at C2 so that her burst lasts for 18s leaving 2s of dead air instead of 8s. As I exclusively use Xiao in AoE/Mob content, Faruzan's ER problems aren't that big of a deal due to white particles from chunking health from enemies and since she omega boosts Xiao, I normally clear at two rotations. The only real problem is grouping. I personally use enemy behavior and let them group themselves before killing them in two plunges. Besides, Faruzan's charged attack is decent in grouping.

Wanderer and Xiao can both be great against multiple targets, but in different scenarios, and both have their caveats. Wanderer can be better when the enemies can be grouped efficiently by Kazuha/Venti, because they have better synergy with his team. Of course, to get the most from that, defensive utility has to be sacrificed (not really against enemies you are grouping, because against them the CC spam can be another form of defence, the reduced defence will only be felt if one of the chambers has enemies immune to CCs and you want to do everything in one go, nothing wrong with that), but this doesn’t make this a bad option or Wanderer’s teams bad at multi target. People should simply be made aware of the downsides. Xiao is much better when there are groups of large enemies immune to CCs. Wanderer tends to spread enemies with Charged Attacks, and Xiao with Plunge Attacks. None of them can have complete control over that, even with good positioning. I never said Wanderer is better in multi target scenarios, all I say is that he is not garbage and even him has scenarios where he excels at that. He has a strong Burst. Normal Attacks also have decent AoE, spamming Charged Attacks is not his only option. In some scenarios where not much grouping is needed, Faruzan C6 can also do the job (obviously, many people still don’t have her C6). My point is, people should just be informed properly about things. Superficial judgments, jokes and takes don’t help anyone and cause unnecessary heat. When Zajef says something, thousands of people will parrot it without understanding anything, no matter if it was correct or not, or if it was a superficial statement. Then, even more people will parrot it because they heard it from someone else.

I didn’t give a shit about him but then his redesign has a color combo I really like plus he becomes the 00 Gundam, flying with GN particles. Mid-air sprint literally has 00 Gundam Trans-Am booster circles. The dodge air to ground missiles sealed the deal.

Not everyone saying something positive or controversial is a simp. Too often I see this accusation being randomly thrown to discredit what people say, being it correct or not. Though, I have to admit that there is a lot of misinformation coming from both sides, in the comment section. Personally, I dislike Wanderer’s personality, I hate his idle dialogues and I changed voice over language just to not understand them. I’m interested in Wanderer exclusively because of his combat performance, his exploration performance and the gameplay experience.

Charge attack spam is only better at +0% attack speed. But saying that's his best playstyle is straight up spreading misinformation. Literally ANY attack speed buff enables his normal attack playstyle, you have his signature artifact set already giving you 10%, his signature weapon also gives you a 10% attack speed bonus, every part of his kit just screams "pls use normal attack". If you did not pull for his weapon or did not farm his artifact set, there's still c6 yunjin who gives you a 12% bonus on top of the normal attack damage bonus or c2 jean providing a 15% attack speed bonus, at c4 she even shreds 40% anemo resistance. Also, c6 faruzan is NOT NEEDED at all, sure you get a lot of value out of her c6, but if you don't have her or don't want to pull for her to play wanderer you can go with shielder/bennett/flex and it still works pretty well TL;DR: Only spam charge attacks if you don't have either his signature artifact set, his signature weapon, c6 yun jin OR c2 jean. With any one of those, N3 combo is better than charged spam. Also, C6 faruzan is not a must-pull to play wanderer

Is Charged spam only better pre C1 or/and with Dodoco? I used genshin optimizer and my N2C x 7 + burst did more total damage than C x 15 (which is much harder to execute) + burst, around 2% gain over charged spam with Widsith best buff as catalyst and 2 pc 2 pc. At the very least they're very comparable but N2C feels much easier to execute

Spent like 100 pulls, got a Wanderer and not a single Faruzan. Yanfei is now c14 and Rosaria is c9. Faruzan is only c2 because I had c1 and got her on standard banner the pull after I gave up on the event banner.

if you for what ever reason get C6 wanderer, echoes turns into his best artifact set. in my personal experience of charge vs normal using dodocos+pavilion for charge and lost prayer+echoes for normal well spam running husk/clam domain, the fastest time i got for both of them was litrally the exact same at i think it was 46s on the timer multiple times.

Has Zajef really done the math for the weapon options? I have, and I've concluded that the widsith has the best damage ceiling, and with my build and team, even if you're only using charge attacks his signature still beats out all other 5-star options thanks to raw stats. Mind you it's not by much. The team used consists of C1 Wanderer, C6 Thoma, C6 Favuzan and C5 Bennett. He is using the DPC Artifact Set with somewhat suboptimal stats, with Noblesse and Tenacity on supports. The number measured is average charge attack damage. WIDSITH (I only have R3 so that's what I did the math for) 31493 on r3, no buff/em buff 40470 on r3, dmg% buff 38378 on r3, atk% buff That means 36780 average CA on a buffed rotation Assuming 2/3 rotations are buffed, that's 34136 average CA damage SIGNATURE 33723 no buff The same with max buffs because it doesnt affect CA damage painge LOST PRAYGE 29289 no buff 32072 max buff R1 34855 max buff R5 Edit: SKYWARD ATLAS 32676 @R1 34158 @R5 DODOCO TALES 32744 max buff MEMORY OF DUST 33847 max buff @R1 36654 max buff @R5 Tbh, I've never really considered MoD, seeing it perform so well is a surprise for me. There is a bit of ramp-up time however that I'm not considering here. KAGURAS VERITY 34779, passive doesn't affect normals and charge attack so it's basically worthless

mister zajef i seem to have an issue with what you are saying based on my experience cuz i clear AoE chambers easily with wanderer provided i don't die from not using a shielder but i struggle more with boss chambers that have 2M HP and a gimmick the charged attack combo is generally enough for the AoE chambers but for single target damage its not enough damage and i feel like his signature weapon will make me clear both

He is viable in a taser. May not be a massive upgrade but he is definitely good as the driver in a taser group.

His normal attacks get better the more you invest into him. After getting the Desert Pavillion set + his C1 and/or Tulaytullah's Remembrance, you need to do one charged attack to get the buff going and then never charge attack again as it would be better to go for normal attacks which have good AOE too. He is also really versatile. I have cleared Abyss with him in Teams with no Faruzan in extremely good times too. He is fun in Hyperbloom, as a Taser-driver who also does actual insane damage himself, in Freeze, aggravate too, with off-fielders like Xiangling, Yelan and Xingqiu. Not to mention he works great with different shield options, but you don't have to go for a shield with him the more you play him and/or the better player you are. Yes, he can get knocked back but he has a great passive that makes him keep doing damage while dashing. Another misconception I see people have is that his elemental buffs on E last only while the visual indicator is present. This is not the case. The buffs from Pyro/Hydro/Cryo/Electro last for the whole duration of his E. He is so underrated imo and it's all because people don't understand the value of getting either his Signature weapon or at least his C1 and not understanding his kit or value of his damage in teams EVEN outside his hypercarry team, which is also a blast to play. By far the most fun character I have played in the game, easily. Best value for my account too, saves so much time in Overworld and in Abyss :) Edit: another thing I forgot to mention is that he can hover above enemies higher by holding spacebar after E, this way he can actually damage outside of their attack range. Also I don't get why people say Wanderer has worse AOE than Xiao. His AOE potential is insane, so overlooked and misunderstood. Anyone who thinks otherwise (and has Wanderer, and doesn't CA spam), please let me know why?

i wanna ask a question.... i have a C6 Faruzan. should i level her up to lvl 90? i am asking this because i heard that crowd control strength depends on character level... a lower level character can not suck up a higher level character. since her vortex is gonna be there for CC every 3 seconds, i believe it is quite a major factor for my Xiao who usually deals in AOE and spreads enemies apart, and faruzan CC would help a lot.... but for saving resources i am asking you.... how much should i level her up? would lvl 80 be enough? or lvl 80+ascended? or should i go to 90? actually for my C6 gorou i keep him at lvl 70 and he does the job so i was thinking the same for faruzan when this clicked in my head... please guys, guide me with it or else, make this comment reach @Zajef77. would love to receive some guidance Math Guys :)

I have been using Wanderer simce 3.3 and I have to disagree your take on his teams. In AOE situations he performs really good and isn't *meh*. Hydro passive infusion is not the worst, it's the best. In AOE situations, mobs don't have high hp so you can go electeo charge based teams like Fischl, Yelan/Xq, and such. Venti witu freeze teams and hw will perform similarly to Ayato. In these teams you wpild want to have hydro infusion xoz that's enough for mobs. In ST situations you will use pyro and Faruzan and in those situations he does great ST dmg 😕 he's very versatile in limited events, over world and abyss. You said you love to play different units and teams and Scara is one of the hypercarries that actually lets you do it.

I still use wanderer to this day even in abyss, lore and story aside, from a purely meta perspective i think he is still preety good, i have a c4 faruzan and with faruzan and bennet he is able to do 45k charge shots which is very nice,

I'm a Xiao Main and I've had Wanderer since his first release, my Wanderer is C2 with DPC. Here are some of my thoughts about him nobody asked for. - Wanderer is very comfortable in overworld, his arial dash is great if the surface is flat. If the surface isn't it's kinda eh and not the greatest experience really. I'd prefer to use Kazuha or Venti instead to get to high places since his arial stamina goes away fast when you ascend. - In overworld if you're on like a slope, sometimes he'll ascend too high and won't hit the enemies despite them being in range. You can only go up, you cannot go down. Not a game changer, but I do find it very annoying. - Stop assuming everyone has a C6 Faruzan. I know so many people who don't have her C6 who are both Scara fans and non-Scara fans. I was one of them before this banner came out despite constantly rolling on his first banner (my Wanderer being C2 speaks for itself). - Zajef is right, he does have AOE problems and it's annoying- don't pretend this isn't a thing. One moment you're hitting the enemy and then the next he's not. Running a grouper does solve the issue, but that's one team slot gone that could've been something else. - This might be a skill issue on my part, but I feel like Wanderer is very reliant on a shield. Like it's possible to play him without one, but the moment you get hit it's not very fun. For Xiao I can just change the time of my plunges to dodge, but with Wanderer I can't really do that since I can only dash and that takes away DPS time. His passive does help this a bit, but it's still a minor complaint. - Xiao and Wanderer, for their hypercarries playstyle, basically use the same teams, so I never really play both in abyss at the same time because they want almost the same things. If you want to use one, the other one will probably be benched unless you're messing around with idk hyperbloom xiao (aka xiaolad/salad) on the other side. - Xiao's collision plunges are not hard to do, if it's hard for you that's a skill issue on your part. My Xiao is more invested than my Wanderer so obviously in my case specifically he does more damage but ignoring that, they'll probably do the same amount damage if you invest equally into them. The argument of who's better is stupid, just roll for whosever playstyle you prefer more.

Getting c6 4 star is a pain. But luckily I got her at C6 from C1 in the last Wanderer banner. Imagine that, just 1 copy from 80 pulls on the 1st wanderer banner. But this time around she just keeps appearing every 10 pull.

I got him in his first run accidentaly while trying to get c0 gorou for my noelle, he's still chilling in the basement at lvl70, I was hoping to get 4 copies of Faruzan to c6 her but I got 0... She's still c2. I already have DPS chars built, can someone honestly tell me if he's even worth building without c6 Faruzan?

Having c6 Faruzan with no Wanderer or Xiao and 0 intent to pull for either of them truly is an experience. Best of luck to people who want her cons!

Yep, getting a 4 star to C6 can be very varied. I got mine within 180 pulls while my friend got his at around 300 pulls

I still don’t know how I got Faruzan 3 times off standard banner plus the free without even pulling a single time on her rate up in 3.3. Hopefully we can c6 quickly

I know Zajef isn't fond of hypercarry playstyle, but idk what the TC community obsession is with investing as little as possible and expecting the best return on it. So you have to thoroughly build a hypercarry DPS to be exceptional, should this be counted against them??? Wanderer is the kind of character that every bit of investment in him is directly tied to his performance being an anemo catalyst. In return for investing in him, he outputs dmg up there with the top teams in the game doing upwards 95% of the dmg. But yeah you have to actually build him if you want that, crazy I know lmao
