No problem. I figure I may as well tell everyone what a great decision it was to purchase a Gasification boiler. Best decision ever.

The way rates are going this is definitely the way to go! Also the ability to have your house at whatever temp you want and not have to worry about the coast is huge. Great video

Having the wood boiler for us has been huge. It’s been a blessing to not have to worry about how much it will cost us during these long cold winters.

What is the difference with a gasification burner compared to a regular burner? I hear people say they use 5 - 10 cords of wood a winter. I had a coal boiler for 14 years and loved it except for when we would go away. I have the old cast iron water radiators and once they would cool down, it was a long slow process until they warmed up and the house warmed up. Great video and I amazed at how much you can run off of this system.

Gassification is the process of burning the unburned gasses to generate heat to heat up the water. I have some videos on what a gasser is. But in my case the fire burns down and goes into the combustion chamber and burns the unburned gasses before it exits the chimney so every btu is maximized. That’s why they are so efficient.

Great feedback.. i love how you dont need to shovel the driveway... everything is warm and the fact you can run a firewood kiln.. now your kiln is small i was wondering if you can run 3 53 foot refeer trailers and still have more BTUs than you need??
@Treestofirewood
@Treestofirewood 9 ай бұрын
To run 3 53ft. I feel if you only ran that you wouldn’t have enough. It maybe could but the boiler would never shut off and you would be going through over a facecord a day to try and get it up to temp. The amount of BTU’s needed to just run one 53ft would be a lot. Even the fact of double the size of what I am running doesn’t mean that’s twice the BTU’s. The multiplier is way more than two. I feel you wouldn’t be able to get the temp up high enough to even make a difference. There’s a reason firewood kilns have over a million btu heaters. I feel you would need a much larger system to be able to run that many kilns.

@Treestofirewood but they are ment to hold heat or cold.. it would hold 48 IBC Cages and the tracks in the floor would allow maximum air flow front to back.. each reefer is under 500 square feet... seems like the right recipe... no?
@Treestofirewood

@buckinfirewood maybe. But remember you will be venting either all the time or when you want too. With that much wood in there that’s a lot of moisture and you need to get it out so your pulling a lot of heat as well. I couldn’t even imagine running 3 that size. There’s no way I could run that. Maybe 1 and nothing else. Especially if you want to keep the temp up and be efficient. Next year the only wood I will be (kiln drying) is seasoned wood not fresh cut wood. I’m already half way to what I had in stock this year already. It can be done with the right airflow and operating systems.

@Treestofirewood right now we need to run 20 cords a day if not more plus our in-house sales... I need to get a video out but find it hard when I'm spending an entire day sorting a load of logs..

How much were you paying per kilowatt hour for electricity? Was there also a delivery price for the electricity? I pay A LOT more than the numbers you mentioned. I have a larger house square footage wise (4K square feet) and more people in the house (7) but that still doesn’t explain the full difference in cost I’m paying for electric. In any event, great video!
@Treestofirewood

I’d have to look at what the cost per kilowatt was/is. We are pretty casious as to what is running and what doesn’t need to be on and so on. It’s hard now with two kids because everything is on.

When buying a boiler, other than the added price, is there a disadvantage to buying a larger unit than you need? I’d like to get 1 but we would also like to build some outbuildings eventually as well
@Treestofirewood
@Treestofirewood 6 ай бұрын
If it is too oversized it may be in idle mode to long where the fire won’t stay lit and will have to maybe restart the fire. If wood is dry and settings are right you would be fine. I can keep my big unit going all summer just heating the hot water no problem.
