I have B&W 801 speakers in my house and love the sound and bought the zeppelin. Disappointed is all I can say for the price. I think it was nothing more than slapping their name on something they didn’t build or design just to get into that market. Also I bought the apple one first and it sounded as good as my alarm clock

HAH. When it comes to 801s they can cost tens of thousands. It’s unfortunate the Zeppelin isn’t near that level of sound quality, but can you blame them for not achieving higher while selling these for £600 a pop?

I bought one 2 months ago, it does sounds great. My iPod classic 5.5 does not recognize it as an “official” device and won’t play on it, anyone have a work around? Yes, I can play it thru the input in the back, but you know…

I assume you mean iPod? But yeah I cant get it to sync with mine either!! Hard speaker tho

nah bro. the zep air only support the latest ipod classic 6 and 7. the iPod hi-fi will work with ANY iPod ever made 😂

Ahhhh, I genuinely had no idea. Bit of a misinformed video, then… To be fair the iPod hifi only works with the 30 pin iPods, surely?

yeah I meant to say every classic ever made :) my bad. btw I had a chance to own both of the speakers once and I admit the zep air sounded better, especially the bass (punchy but not muddy at all). Keep up the great work!

what exactly is the difference between the first version Zeppelin and the air version?

Sound quality is (only a little, but still noticeably) better on the Air. The first Version has a silver back whereas the Air’s is black. There’s one more port on the Air I believe, I think it’s coaxial, but not 100% sure. Not a particularly useful connection in my house.

@@flamner AirPlay 1. It’s backwards compatible, so new devices will work with it fine - just a little slow.

Have had both the Air and Wirelsss since new, and 2 pairs of floor standers by B&W. All sounds great. Portability is excellent. Air can do digital via 3.5mm jack and 24/94, so find a Chromecast audio and you’re set. I even shipped it back for an amp repair and had it upgraded to lightning from 30-pin. Keep the Air away from a rear wall for better bass, due to the rear ports.

hay man i have both and i can honestly say. b&w is beating by miles. hifi pod nice video and people should consider legacy stuff when they have built quality this item works well with roon and if u want you can add on. chromecast to aux and u will have. two devices in one so u will be able to communicate with android devices 😂

That’s a great video. I owned OG Zepellin which I upgraded to B&W A7 around 2013. At the time of purchase I had both Air and A7 for the demo and preferred the latter, finding them more engaging especially the mids were more euphonic and lush without being muddy and they dig deep too. I still have them and although I have a fairly nice 2 ch system but they still bring a smile to my face and I say that’s solid return on investment after almost 10 years of ownership. I think something else your viewers could look in to for a good bargain. Avoid A5, they were crap lol😂
