Another amazing video properly explained. Do you need to apply any particular gain staging on your effect sends? I would love to hear more on how to properly set up aux tracks. Thanks for the useful content.

Not really. Any track that's gain staged correctly should send to an aux at an optimal level.

I've always wondered about this as there's a lot of KZfaq vids saying to keep your fader around 0 for easier adjustment. I sometimes forget about this when I'm trying something new so will periodically check and I've found if I've not gain staged the track this way it can make a quite a difference to the processing and end result. Great confirmation! Thanks AM!!! 🙏🕊️

Oh I was meaning on a track.. turn plugins off and adjust to average -18. I've been learning/working on several songs that are at various stages of what's been done on them.. sorry my comment didn't take that into account. 🙏🕊️ PS it would be good to hear about the master fader though, instinctively I don't touch it... 👍 @@AudioMountain777

Great video, thank you. I’m new to music production and one thing that confuses me is, should I be doing any gain staging during the production phase at all? Or should I not worry about gain staging until I have my bounced audio files and I’m ready to begin the mixing phase?

Gain staging when recording is important. Keep the loudest sound at about -6db to prevent clipping. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
