Intensifiers -- Americans love to sound exciting and interesting by using intensifiers. Yes, they can be overused, but I notice that many English learners don’t use them at all! The English students I have who DO use them sound much more natural and native-like.

In the Philippines, people will raise their contemptuous eyebrows if you express yourself this way: You will be called "OA", short for Over Acting. And a Filipino (man) will be called "gay" if he talks this way. Words of men are expected to be moderate not intensified. For instance, a Filipino is not expected to say, "I'm famish" as this is an expression of weakness and OA.

I can't agree more with you. People shouldn't be gullible, instead they should know who they are--rectify their weaknesses and improve their strenghts based on what is universally moral. Many people nowadays are manipulative and emotionally insecure. Coping up with unnecessary changes they promote will load life with unnecessary burden. The desire to be unique to the point where one becomes a deviant is one of the causes of social imbalance. In fact, these type of people are too plenty now and they cause the rapid changes of cultures around the world. Coping up with these changes obviously will complicate one's character and ultimately life. Protect yourself; don't be gullible!
