Hey. Just want to tell you that I'm a Dominican dude who came to US in 2001 and became US citizen in 2012 . I taught myself how to speak English in a time where Internet didn't even exist yet. and before I came to US. I just found your channel and I'm impressed on how much I can improve my English by watching your videos. Thank you so much and keep them videos coming. I'm subscribing right now 👍

Earlier, it was very tough for me to write and speak correct English. I used to think that I couldn't learn english because I had tried a lot and I was not successful. But now a came to know that, I was not finding the right teacher to teach me. Now slowly and steadily my English is improving, now I know which tense and which form of verb is to be used in the sentence. Thanks a lot Emma 😊

I find that 'sorry' is better than 'my bad' when I'm the recipient as I find the latter less sincere. I use 'my bad' when I feel that whatever mistake I made isn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. I live in Canada and we say sorry a lot.

Add the little preposition "so" into the statement "I'm sorry" to say "I'm so sorry" if you want add a bit more emphasis, or eliminate the abbreviation completely to say "I am so sorry" to add even more emphasis. These are little changes that can effectively change the level of emotion expressed when using the word "sorry" to apologize. Such power in words!

I'm an American and speak clear, unbroken English as it's my native language. I've always taken pride in my speech and have spent years expanding my vocabulary (Thesaurus was something I'd actually read through as a child) With that said, I'm always looking for ways to even further improve my speaking skills and word usage. I have learned some great examples from your channel. Just because you're an American and speak English, doesn't mean you can't improve it. I grew up in Kansas/Oklahoma and moved to Seattle with a pretty thick "Southern" accent that I got teased for. I worked on losing that accent and now when I go back to see family, or even talk with people in other areas of the US, I'm told I have a "West Coast" accent...I try to work on that, but I can't hear it in myself, so it's been difficult. The people who work in journalism and the news casters we see on our local and national news channels, go through specific education on how to speak with absolutely no accent, so one can't differentiate where they're from. That essentially makes it to where one can work anywhere in the US and their audience won't be able to tell either. I think that's pretty cool and would be interested in learning how to do that. I just wanted to say you're a great teacher for someone wanting to learn proper English and even those of us native English speakers to improve on our language skills!
