I personally just got done working on somebody's car telling them a bit about there car like the gearhead I am and then come home saying I'm done talking about cars for the day.... then see this and my whole thought process changed. Marchionne himself an avid smoker which contributed to his untimely demise

Not anymore, NASCAR’s title sponsor for the cup series is a conglomerate between a few companies like Coca Cola, Busch Beer, and a few others. It’s really confusing now but as long as it keeps the sport going I’m cool with it.

Dunno if it is the same in the states but here in Scotland hardly anyone smokes anymore. I used to smoke 40 a day I've vaped for years now and most people in the uk vape now. I guess most tobacco companies now have switched to eliquid and e ciggs aswell because they have to have taken a massive hit in sales recently

Formula 1 is odd in that if you are not one of the top 3 (Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull) the teams are pumped to be the "best of the rest". I routinely see drivers pumped about getting 6th, 7th or 9th place. I think because 1-10 get points.

The thing with big brands sponsoring, is why would they? 600 Million people already buy Coke, so sponsoring an F1 team doesn't really help sales, and being associated with F1 doesn't really help their branding. Same with Apple, McDonalds etc. As alot of companies are looking to pretend they care about the environment , so being pictured next to a Shell or other oil company on a race car isn't what they want. It's unfortunate, but the big money sponsors that would actually want to be on race cars are either overly expensive things like Rolex, companies like Cognizant, or Oil, Beer and Energy Drink companies. IT companies mostly do it so they can schmooze over clients by taking them to the hospo suites, so it pays for itself when they're signing >10million dollar deals.

I swear Team Winnow is nothing more than an elaborate piss-take on the part of Marlboro, to wit: Winnow means the process by which blowing air through wheat separates the grain from the chaff. Basically Team Winnow is what you get when you blow lots of hot air, separate the bullshit from the substance, and then feed everyone just the bullshit. Nolan, you mention that the attempts by tobacco advertisers to slip past the regulators border on comic. I'd say Team Winnow's way past that point. Great show guys.
