Bought it after seeing Wander play the demo. And I really enjoy it, definitely hits the Settlers "feel" for me.

Extremely simplistically, you can think of orthogonal as N, S, E, W. Board games use the term a lot to differentiate between diagonal, orthogonal, and adjacent.

Yet again, Wander has uploaded a video that made me buy a game and then sink 16 hours into it over the course of two days. My sleep schedule can't handle all of these bangers anymore!

I Always remember orthogonal by saying "its not diagonal, and I remember what diagonal is" :D

Orthogonal would be at 90 degrees from a "0 point" (ie straight ahead). This is opposed to Diagonal, which is on a 45 degree bias. Basically, on a chess board, if you are on a black square, orthogonal squares are all the white squares surrounding you.

Orthogonal has two common uses: position of elements wrt each other and conclusion that two concepts are separate and can be exchanged for something else without affecting other element(s).

Orthogonal are 2 straight lines, that meet each other with only right angles. e.g. The letter "T" would be 2 lines where both lines attach orthogonal. Corners would be the same though.

I was going to explain it that most axis in games or graphs are orthogonal. Effectively, they go 90 degrees from each other in most examples you'll use it.

sooo, what's the difference in orthogonal and perpendicular?

Or-THOG-onal. Not or-THAG-onal. ❤ Meaning on either the same row or column on a grid. "Orthogonally adjacent" means directly next to, but not on a corner.

Worse about the Techtree is that its Random when you start unlocking alternate versions. Unlock Carrots, now you got a random chance of it being Carrots OR Tomatos to plant. But thats not it, there are Alt Base buildings, such as the Well. Such as the Mountain Spring. Which can only be built on Mountain Tiles, (naturally), but if you also roll Tomatos? Hahhahaha T_T No bonuses for you.
@dariocampanella7992
@dariocampanella7992 10 ай бұрын
No that should not happen. Because the techtree is not random but there are different starting scenarios instead. These scenarios are designed to be balanced lol

@@dariocampanella7992 Liturally Playing it myself. One game. Tomatos. Another Carrots. After unlocking Fruit Trees, its Apples/Peaches/Plums/etc. Cold/Heat are Bonfires using Wood or Hemp. Puddles or Windmills. Chickens or Rabbits. There is NO telling which of these will be that rounds item until AFTER you build your Research. OH. Theres also alts on that too. Study Desk which is built next to Dwellings or Thinkers Spots built isolated.

You know what would be an interesting mechanic? I saw the line "attracts _ events" several times. What if you could deliberately cause more events so that you can get good ones (if you have the necessary resources)?
