As a self-diagnosed door enthusiast, I am appalled. The standard door is the standard for a reason! This masterpiece of a door can do it all: soundproofing, thermal insulation, security, easy installation, easy maintenance, ease of use! And all that at a low price point compared to all the other doors! A good door you can rely on! It keeps the cold out in the winter, it keeps the heat out in the summer, it keeps the burglars out and your valuables safe, it's cheap and you don't need to open up the wall beyond the usual hole for the door frame. It's so easy to open, too! Both hands full? No problem, the door handle can be used with your hips, belly, feet, whatever! Even cats can figure that out, and you install the handle rotated by 90 degrees if you want to make it cat-proof. The standard door is also very sturdy and isn't susceptible to damage unlike the inferior sliding door and the unnecessarily complicated "innovation" door. The more moving parts you have, the easier it is to break. Nothing beats the standard solid door with tried and true hinges. I am so disappointed to see man's true best friend so utterly disrespected!

I don't like spinning doors for the sole reason that they are usually automated where I'm from. And automated Spinning doors SUCK. You have to slow down your walking speed and even stand still and wait for it to turn enough so you can step in and out of it. But spinning doors you can spin yourself are amazing.

Yeah I live in Australia, for us the main reason of screen doors: Breeze. They keep the house breezy, keep out bugs (which we have lots of) and are also more resistant to hammers and nukes than normal wooden doors (if you got CrimSafe not that shitty floppy shit)

I think there's an unappreciated use of the barn door, which is to section of two "public" areas of the house. It helps muffle the noises and separate the lighting between them, but you can also be aware of when someone is using the other room like "oh my boyfriend is making food in the kitchen i can go say hi" They suck for bedrooms tho, that's weird.

I just recently started watching content by this guy, and I gotta say, the execution of everything here is so impressive to me. The switching of expressions on sticks timed with the audio, the simple yet well crafted room layout of cardboard and even the little green screen patch so his computer displays video like an actual one. It’s all so creative.

I gotta agree with Andy regarding sliding doors. I’ve lived in several places all of which that had some form of sliding door and that door was always the door that broke. I currently live in a house with two sliding doors, both are broken. And they will stay broken because fixing them would require that I hire someone to literally tear out my wall to replace the mechanism and/or door.
