Original drafts for my novel included elves, dwarves, and centaurs, but I realized that I was cramming too many creatures into the story, and so they were taken out, and I stuck with gryphons, dragons, and unicorns.

Ooh! Fun! We're diving into creatures! In this one story I'm working on I have this coloney of creatures that have taken over these ruins. They're simply called Rat Harpies. They're giant rats with human like features, they're territorial, malicious and always hungry. But they're also nocturnal. They can handle small amounts of light, but not blindingly bright lights. There's not much more to these creatures. They're simply used as an obstacle to make the characters smarter, stronger and strengthen their bonds.

I guess I could try looking further into irish mythology 😅 I tried doing a original story called Tir ja nog in the 21st century but I accidentally made it TOO similar to sailor moon….one of the characters in irish lore has my name and just happens to be a princess 🤷♀️ I’ve been meaning to try to rewrite it at some point so I’ll keep this in mind 😊

I am currently working on a creature for my story. If you are wondering what kind of creatures these are they take the form of humans but they're immortal and have features that make them different from people they also have the ability to use magical crystals. I decided the main character is half of this thing because I need a excuse why her parents gave up her twin at a young age. Also thank you for the advice it actually helps.

So they gave up her twin but not her? Was it dangerous for them to be together because of her magic?
