Thank you for your easy explanation. For double brim I start off with a contrast yarn as I find it much easier to find the stitches. Then I just remove the contrast yarn once it’s sewn 😊

So the brim is just knit stitch for 20 rows? The finished hat brim looks like stocking stitch to me (1 row knit, 1 row purl). Maybe I'm just not used to seeing thicker yarn? Thanks for sharing.

Knitting in the round with bulky yarn usually makes one side of the V in knit stiches stand up higher than the other, giving the impression of a purl bump.

Hey! Have you blocked this project hat? Because i did two and before blocking they were perfect. After wet blocking the brim became ~2 cm biger and not elastic😔 i did blocking correctly. Yarns 45% alpaca and 20% merino wool..

@adgurl01 4 жыл бұрын
sharon walker the seed stitch is slightly different in that it’s a two row repeat. R1 is K1, P1. R2 is P1, K1. You’re basically doing the opposite of the stockinette stitch The moss stitch is a 4 row repeat. Slightly different 💕

I am still waiting for an answer of how many sts to cast on for a 20" size head.
@CJDesignblog
@CJDesignblog 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, you have to do a swatch and figure out the amount of stitches that you have to cast on. It needs to be an even number tho. I haven't done one for a 20" size so I can't help you, sorry.

Well my comment is negative. 😢I tried but the picking up that inside stitch and placing on needle to st2tog was hard to find st! You make it look easy but it’s not! I missed some I guess because 3/4 of way around I had allot mor sts on needle than inside brim part!! All I could do (& can’t pull out-tick back!) was cut long piece on end of yarn, thread on a needle and try to put few more sts from needle before picking up loop from back brim~~ but then found out hard way that not work as brim is twisted and bunched from “gathering” more one side than other! Needless to say this is being trashed and I won’t be trying this ever again! I hope others have better luck than I did!!

don't feel bad she's good i screwed up 6 hats i didn't know you could do it without spare wool crochet cast on but i'm still practising also mine all end up big brim i have to use 5 or less needles it takes lots practise but this 1 looks easy just do cast on from > kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a6ljeJWLxryzkqs.html&feature=share&fbclid=IwAR2EnjN11QwlQMXntwvXrYwXQNLr-TsTijNOsIT82JKhKoE0YeTJURTHlWk even this 1 does it easy kzfaq.info/get/bejne/arZ2fL2U1Jynf5c.html but i've tried both i loose stitches or add it's frustrating but i'm determined to figure out all the tricks but her video is good and easy compared to most

This brim on the hat was sooo thick that when I finished it I couldn't get it over my head. I think your needle size is way to small for this weight of yarn. I wouldn't make it again.
