I've been getting sick of the brushed motors on the V912's. In particular the tail motors have been dying on me. After a brief play with a 3S 11.1 volt conversion, decided it was time to go brushless. First indoor hovers with much finetuning to do but initial results look promising. Motors are so smooth on power up, and the gyro response is awesome compared to the stock electronics. Overall? Feels like the power of the 3S but with serious refinement, I love the soft start! Awesome potential......

Hello, please could you be so kind to describe, how it was possible to modify from the brushed tail motor to the brushless tail motor. Which modell did you first buy? The single (main rotor) brushless version of the V912? And which brushless motor did you buy for the tail? Thanks a lot. I have a brushless version of the V912 which doesn´t work without problems. I have a lot of interuptions of the tail motor. Thank you!

+Michael Preyer The FF200's are a great little motor, small and powerful, and as you say, cool sound. With the FBL setup and Xtreme 200SRX 8 degree blades it's a real stealth machine, really quiet although the ESC setup I have now doesn't give that nice slow spool up

Appollo scott Hope it goes well for you. I've just got this bird running flybarless now with the same double brushless setup. I think there are better tail motors around now, I have an 1804 motor to try on my next build which should be a lot better than the setup on the 912. I'm using ESC's with BLHeli software now for the tails. It's definitely a nice way to go and if you can flash the software, you can optimise the tail settings. Unfortunately that either requires some micro soldering, or connection via an Arduino rig to flash. Anyway good luck with your build :)

FlyingboatsRCG Thanks again for the good info, I can only wish the guys from WL would read this stuff and incorporate some of our mods into their products so that we don't have do so much work just to get these things flying right. However it's fun though tinkering with them, it's like it's own hobby in a way. I had blew out the pcb board on my v913 dual brushless and decided to replace it with a leftover MJX reciver that I had laying around. I got the helicopter from Bangood and it had a F45 main and tail brushless esc combo soldered to a V913 pcb board. I baught two hobbywing 20A esc for the main and tail rotors. The main works flawlessly but I cannot get the tail to work. I have tried everything except flashing the tail esc but instructions for that particular esc is somewhat lacking. I finally gave up and orded a mjx F49 brushless tail motor kit whose esc should contact right up to the mjx reciver without problems. I'll post some videos when I am done.

Appollo scott Actually was researching last night as I have a DYS 10A ESC with BLHeli and wanted to solder some flashing connections to update the settings. Couldn't find any info on the connections but Banggoods have the DYS USB tool for flashing. Just plug the ESC's servo type plug into the USB and you can flash and update settings without soldering! It's for the DYS SN range and there a re a good number of ESC's from 10 - 40A. With BLHeli it will take a signal off the tail FET gate pin. BLHeli autodetects the signal on bootup and autocalibrates to suit. This should allow a brushless tail setup but there's still some setup required.

hey nice vid, like all the mods, you made a monster v912 lol, i want to go full brushless to, im using HYPERION Y12L 5300KV 12MM motor with 7a esc for tail and Hobbymate HB2622 5000kv with 20a mystery star esc, i think the best is tail and gear stay stock, just motor swap.. one question, how do you install the esc for the tail, just like the main engine? tnks

Tail ESC is sitting on top of the main motor ESC, under the battery. Connections are power in (shared with main ESC), signal comes from the gyro, and the same 3 wires to the motor. I checked the setup by plugging into the throttle signal first, before plugging into the gyro once I knew it was all working. Good luck with your build!

As per the reply on your other comment. There are heaps of small quad motors around now, but looking through Banggoods this Racerstar looks like good value/weight and thrust: www.banggood.com/Racerstar-1306-BR1306-3100KV-1-2S-Brushless-Motor-CWCCW-For-150-180-200-RC-Multirotor-Frame-Kit-p-1065662.html?rmmds=search&ID=521310&cur_warehouse=CN I'd try running it with something like a 5030 2 blade prop, it may still have too much power in which case just cut the prop down a little. I've used something like these before: www.banggood.com/Gemfan-QX2-Propellers-For-Blade-200QX-Quadcopter-p-978335.html?gmcCountry=NZ&currency=NZD&createTmp=1&ad_id=353641305054&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2efrBRD3ARIsAEnt0ehE6NmXYQyD-CSVzWb3lDGWuDA4C8mo-Fcqw3N_wKsyCbuGP3iHgrgaAgy0EALw_wcB&cur_warehouse=CN

Qual motor brushless você utilizou para a calda?
@FlyingboatsRCG
@FlyingboatsRCG 6 жыл бұрын

I initially fitted a new radio receiver and the tail signal was then sent to a single axis gyro, then on to the brushless ESC controlling the tail motor. I later fitted a 3 axis gyro and got rid of the flybar. The tail still works in the same way with a satellite receiver feeding into the Tarot ZYX 3 axis flybarless controller, then tail output to the tail motor ESC. If you're running a stock V912 receiver/PCB it should be possible to drive a BL ESC by taking a signal input from the mosfet that controls the brushed tail motor. You need a BLHeli ESC (probably best with the original BLHeli rather than BLHeli_S or BLHeli_32, LittleBee 20A BLHeli ESC's are excellent). Take a look at how I ran a BL motor on the FX71: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bbCUY9GdsN-bp2Q.html

@FlyingboatsRCG
@FlyingboatsRCG 6 жыл бұрын
Vídeo em kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bbCUY9GdsN-bp2Q.html

@FlyingboatsRCG
@FlyingboatsRCG 6 жыл бұрын
O fio preto / marrom é - / ground, eo fio branco / amarelo é a entrada do sinal.

@FlyingboatsRCG
@FlyingboatsRCG 6 жыл бұрын

How to install esc
@FlyingboatsRCG
@FlyingboatsRCG 7 жыл бұрын
I used a different radio receiver so did not use the stock V912 PCB. Wiring is just standard for ESC like this diagram: static.rcgroups.com/forums/attachments/2/5/6/7/7/6/a2458527-225-brushless%20wiring%20diagram.jpg If you want to run brushless motors off the 912PCB you can do it with BLHeli ESC's like on this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bbCUY9GdsN-bp2Q.html

FlyingboatsRCG.. . How to change the tail brushed motor into a tail brushless motor. Thanks
@FlyingboatsRCG
@FlyingboatsRCG 7 жыл бұрын
Use the same approach as on the FX71 video I linked (assuming you have V912 PCB). Add a 10A BLHeli ESC which takes the signal from the tail motor mosfet on the V912 board, than add a motor. I used this one on my V912 hobbyking.com/en_us/18-11-2000kv-micro-brushless-outrunner-10g.html I bolted the motor to the old 912 tail plastic. Works well with a 5030 CCW propellor

FlyingboatsRCG. 1 more question. For tx/rx you use what model?
@FlyingboatsRCG
@FlyingboatsRCG 7 жыл бұрын
Devo 10 running deviation. I was originally using an Orange DSM2 6 channel receiver hobbyking.com/en_us/orangerx-r615x-dsm2-dsmx-compatible-6ch-2-4ghz-receiver-w-cppm.html?___store=en_us .Since I've changed to using flybarless controllers i use satellite receivers because they are smaller/lighter.
