Nice Doug, great job! The nose on the mushroom at 5:38 would make a nun blush! Lmao. Keep up the good, interesting. Creative work.

Nice problem-solving! The finished guy has a bit of a Scotsman look about him-except his cap is dotted instead of tartan pattern.

Stumbled upon your channel a few days ago, and I'm loving it! I grabbed a knife and started trying to whittle some scrap pieces around however, either it was the wrong kind of wood, or my knife wasn't sharp enough. LOL Not the same results.

Doug, your small carving videos caught my attention and your camping videos kept my attention and have shown a southern guy the beauty of the great north. Hope to make it to Canada one day or at least the UP. I’m dabbling into small wood working after being a sports guy since 5th grade. Love your lingo...”She’s a beaut” and That’s crazy”. Glad God didn’t make us all talk the same. Thanks for sharing your part of the world. It’s absolutely beautiful. By the way, truly enjoyed the mission trip video too.

Just getting to watch the last 2 vids here. First thing I thought when Doug plopped the wood on the stump, "well, that looks like a......" Of course I knew it was going to be the nose. Then he starts carving the hat. "Hmmmm.... now he carved a.... that has a wart." LOL

Fantastic. At 16:53 he looks like a sitting Oriental person with a hat, holding a rice bowl.

I set up a swarm trap in our upper field at work to catch honeybees. A swarm moved in and when I go out to check on my honeybees I always seem to spook 2 doe. They lay under the tractor trailer beds. I notice their coats are the same in color as you described. Beautiful. I love taking my lunch break out there amongst nature.

Great carving, Doug. Good call on that nose. If you ever run across punky wood like that, Git Rot does a good job for non-structural repairs. The new nose turned out great, just thought I would mention it for any future issues.
