"Downtown" was as diverse as it comes and was made up of so many different communities that made Jersey City a great place to grow up in. Remember these sections??????
Gammontown, Paulus Hook, Hamilton Park, Pavonia, The Village............who grew up downtown?what section?what was your special memory? Railroad Ave, Grove Street, 8th Street, Sussex, York, Greene ? Favorite watering hole?

In my 30 years in JC I never lived downtown and we moved 8 times in those years. Started on Clendenny ave then Lincoln st , then Seaview ave , Ocean ave, then Liberty ave, Boyd ave , Linden ave and finally Claremont ave 1959 to 1989.

That shot of the street sign of the corner of Jersey Ave and Third St. Wow.... I lived there.. on Third St next to the back of Finast Supermarket, known now as Key Foods.
