I am so glad to see an up-and-coming, rising star of this particular genre giving props to Dr. Weil. Dr. Weil is responsible for educating my generation (brought up on pop-tarts for breakfast, smoking being permissible in restaurants, and watching the 6 o'clock news while eating KFC or grilled hot dogs for dinner) on all things mind-body-spirit. I attribute my health journey kicking off with 8 Weeks to Optimum Health and I can still recall the day I saw it on the table in a bookstore in the mall and purchased it. It changed my life.Dr. Weil is one of the greatest thought leaders of my generation.

@@marshawalker5273 I've wondered about that, too. However, he's always been the same body type, from what I can tell. Just like some people are 'skinny-fat' I think some can be 'healthy-fat' too. I shared the same feeling of inter-connectedness Dr. Andrew described, from doing half doses of mescaline, psilocybin, and peyote in my college years in the Pacific Northwest. We picked psilocybin mushrooms at dawn, which grew in ‘fairy rings’ in areas with rich soil, like cow pastures. We’d make tea and walk for hours in the forest, feeling awe and connection with all of nature. I’m a lightweight so instinctively took less than others, which worked well for me. The experiences opened my mind and spurred creativity, set me on a lifelong path, and formed a core spirituality of reverence for nature and the Universal Energy. I became a professional artist, animal advocate, Master Gardener, and vegetarian/ vegan/ pescatarian for over 50 years. I could go on about my incredible experiences! I haven’t felt a need to use these substances anymore, as I learned what they had to teach me, which was transformative!

Thank you for having Dr. Weil on your podcast, he is simply the best. One day he will be revered and celebrated (in due time all will be revealed & understood) like so many that came before him. Ignaz Semmelweis was a physician and scientist who figured out that doctors could decrease the number of deaths, infections just by washing their hands. His simple idea could have saved countless lives, but he was largely ignored and laughed at. Dr. Weil is a genius, I wish all doctors were trained in naturopathic medicine. What a wonderful and healthy world it would be.

I've learned not to focus on the few largely publicised superfoods and instead settle for as much variety as possible with only two rules: eat more of raw foods and less of cooked/processed and fast every now and then. Spending time alone from time to time is good. I've adopted gardening as a hobby/passion as this can get you grounded, exercised and exposed to fresh air/sunshine all at the same time as well as producing the fresh food.

I saw Dr Weil at a conference in Tucson many years ago and was very influenced to become more health conscious. One thing that really makes me angry is how expensive health items are. I used to consume ground hemp powder in organic juice and hemp oil daily. I can no longer afford to do this as I can barely afford to feed my family. Looking at the cost of matcha is the same. Very expensive. I guess vibrant health is mainly for those that can afford it.

I’ve followed Dr. Weil now for about 30 years. I appreciate a lot of what he says. I feel his casual response to drug use to be a bit alarming. There are some really toxic drugs out there that cannot be used responsibly. Crack cocaine, meth, heroin to name a few. This is coming from a place of being a Holistic Nutrition Educator who also worked with those with active addictions, in recovery, and also grew up around addicts. I think Weil could’ve been more responsible with his comments. Yes, broccoli is a super vegetable but it’s also not good for people with low iodine or those with thyroid problems. Weil gives great information, but he also needs to add in some disclaimers with his comments. Just my thoughts.

For ghee and coconut and Indian food ingredients you need to look at Ayurvedic research as there is a reason people in India use it for thousands of years. When used in the right way with the right foods . It is literally or. Of the best oils in terms of its fatty acid profile. So many benefits for brain health, heart , anti inflammatory and the benefits are endless - only used in the right way with the right foods

Wow. Thank you for this podcast episode Jay and Andrew. I had to keep pausing it and writing down quotes from this as I resonated so hard with some parts! Particularly about the distinction between spirituality and religion and the fact that science needs to accept that the non physical world can directly affect the physical. I have innately known this and consciously cultivated my inner non physical world for years now. It baffles me how people can NOT believe in something 'other' or non physical that has an influence on our world, much more than what is already known by science today. Thank you thank you for the wisdom and the validation and the brilliance that is this channel x

I agree with eating whole foods and eliminating processed foods. However, many of the things he advocates I am literally allergic to. I also have a lot of inflammation in my body, so it’s been tough trying to find a diet that works. Food allergies include almonds, oats, wheat, shiitake mushrooms, soy, whey, and many more. Very frustrating!

I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling to find a diet that works for you, especially given your allergies and inflammation. It can be incredibly frustrating and challenging to navigate these issues, and I commend you for your efforts to prioritize your health and well-being despite these obstacles. While eliminating processed foods and eating whole foods is an excellent foundation for a healthy diet, it's important to recognize that everyone's nutritional needs and sensitivities are unique. It may be helpful to work with a registered dietitian or other healthcare provider to explore dietary options that are safe and effective for you. There are also many resources available for individuals with food allergies or sensitivities, including online support groups, cookbooks, and websites dedicated to allergy-friendly recipes and meal planning. By exploring these resources and working with a healthcare provider, you may be able to find a diet that works for you and supports your overall health and well-being. Best of luck!

You are allergic to almost anything. Chances are that the list of allergens will keep on growing. Your body does not intend to harm you. That is not the intention at all. Again, the allergens you quoted have nothing against your body. We are one with the universe, and all in is there solely for the purpose of feeding, nurturing, and giving us support in our lives. The allergies you have are not primarily from the allergens you have mentioned. Our bodies are populated or even overpopulated with billions and trillions of pathogens. The number of pathogens in us even exceeds the number of cells in our bodies. In the fight against pathogens, the body produces antibodies and cascades an immune response against the allergens you have listed above. This is simply because the allergens you have listed above do have similar protein structures as the pathogens in the body. The end result is skin reactions: dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, systemic lupus erythmatosis, allergic conjunctivitis, hay fever, sinusitis, arthritis, fibromyalgia broncitis, asthma, angioedema, and even other more serious systemic manifestation. Call it a case of mistaken identity. Who, and where is the culprit? The pathogens right inside the body, faceless and hidden, are the cause allergic reaction. Solution: Drink celery juice and avoid eating eggs. Take olive oil produced by cold compression. And wallah, you are healed. I don't wanna touch on the psychodynzmis of allergy😅

On the other hand, I can't help wondering why Dr. Weil seems to struggle himself with severe inflammation issues :( I don't understand. Of course, the huge work he has done on education and research to build a healthier society is what matters.

Do your research. Oil is oil in the body it responds the same way. Do not speak if you have no evidence or research to back that up. Like I said there is research on it. Caldwell Esselstyn, Neal Barnard, and Dr. Dean Ornish all advocate for no oil of any kind for consumption because it harms the endothelial cells in the arteries. Keep studying. You're not there yet.

Thank you for interviewing Dr. Weil. A friend turned me on to him in the early, 90s and enjoy his knowledge and as I am listening to him on the psychedelic topic my heart somewhat sadden when he said the only hope for man is taking a substance which has the potential to be harmful. Without sounding preachy, who likes that) the salvation through Jesus's blood can save mankind and doesn't wear off....psychedelics is a counterfeit. I can, only say this through experience. The interview was informative and fantastic. Your questions were on point. Thank you!
