@rondhole: I use the Carista WiFi OBDII adapter. It works every time, consistently with my iPhone and iPad. Carista adapter is the highly recommended adapter by the Dr. Prius site. I got it cheap on eBay.

Absolutely, Only internal resistance and voltage reading is accurate. Do it in different time , 10x at different charging stages and average it. Good battery have the most homogeneous internal resistance. Voltage reading is 2nd signs. So, trust the free features, and forget about the rest

Hmm. I think I mean the Bluetooth Elm327 adapter, though I made this comment a long time. ago. One trick is to restart your android phone (I don't think Dr Prius and BT OBD2 readers normally work with Iphones). @@DiAllinson

I don't agree with @roundhole that the free is useful and that the paid test isn't. I've heard the free readings/reporting with the bouncing voltages are not meaningful. For me the paid Life remaining test (or whatever it's called) has been very reassuring and helpful. Just make sure the car is warmed up and you're able to draw the correct current (range) for the duration of the 15 minute test.@@rondhole

@@cawag98 it is our freedom to buy or not. I found it is misleading since many have even health more than 100% and the next 2 weeks the battery is still dead in the water.

The code moves from present code to history code, if the light on the dash has gone out then the code is no longer active.

@@Just2362 as I said. The test shows the same code which means the code is still active. But the dashboard is clean.

@@Just2362 also in the battery monitor there is this number for difference btw cells. After I replaced the battery that number remains the same, but as I kept driving the car day by day that number kept dropping which indicates it might uses history to calc the number. As I drive the car it takes new numbers to replace some of the old numbers which is why the number is dropping gradually instead of changing completely.

@@519stream3 What I mean to say is that the code has moved to a history code, the app must check present and history codes stored in the computer of the car. You will have to clear the history with a normal obd2 scanner.

@@r.k862 Yes, trust only the Ohm and Voltmeter, nothing else. Dr. Prius and other apps can show 124% or more health or capacity after someone charge them externally although the battery is actually dead. Just after being overcharged a little bit, it shows it is really good but a few days later, it is still dead. The internal resistance showed unusual distribution, and we can see from it directly that the battery is indeed dead. Often, the rust on the Busbar cause it, and $200 bush bar from Toyota can fix it or you also can clean it by hand. Make sure you use high voltage gears and follow instructions. However, if the car has been parked under the sun in hot areas for more than 10 years, they are just dead, normal dead.

@@r.k862 It is not good to leave any car for more than 1 month. If that is the case, you can remove the 12V battery connection and ask someone to start the car every 2 months in Park not N for minimum 1 hour. Hybrid is not made for long storage. At some point below 40%, the car won't start and you need special equipment from dealership to save the HV battery with special charger and programing. You can still do it too with proper charger and by opening the battery and arranged battery in parallel for balancing, not serial for several hours.

@@rondhole yeah what I'm asking is, is the hybrid battery still ok meaning to charge it up and continue using it or is the hybrid battery been damaged and would need a new hybrid battery, if the car hasn't been turned on for about 1 month

@@r.k862 from Toyota Technical Service Bulletin, start the car once a month for 30 minutes when the car sit on the Dealer parking lot. Battery is always degraded when undercharged or overcharged. The real capacity on hybrid Toyota is 40-80% all the time, that's why it can have 10-15 years warranty. It is just not a good thing, it does not die but gets worse.
