Given the fact he was the high priest of Urthemiel, who was originally the Tevinter Old God of Beauty, tis only fitting.

My personal headcannon is that The Architect is one of the Tevinter Mages that breached the Golden City, such as Corypheus

one of the magisters or maybe someone else; "His crime is high treason. He took on a form reserved for the gods and their chosen, and dared to fly in the shape of the divine. The sinner belongs to Dirthamen; he claims he took wings at the urging of Ghilan'nain, and begs protection from Mythal. She does not show him favor, and will let Elgar'nan judge him."

Interestingly enough, in some early versions of the mission at Adamant keep, your Inquisitor was supposed to fall not into the Fade, but into the Deep Roads, where they would meet the Architect. Why that version of the story was scrapped in unknown, but perhaps we will yet see the resolution of his arc in the upcoming Veiulguard
@Spiralpaladin5 күн бұрын
@@user-uu8jl2xd3x Probably because the time table EA forced upon them left them no time to incorporate it properly. Among many MANY other things.

@@cloak890 But even then, has it been confirmed that the Architect really is a Tevinter Magister ? It seems pretty obvious but he states otherwise and no lore or codex entry made it canon in my knowledge

This is what can be found on the Dragon Age wiki site: In an unsigned Grey Warden Report, the Architect is theorized to be one of the Magisters Sidereal, those Magisters who physically entered the Golden City in -395 Ancient. With no evidence contradicting otherwise, it was henceforth assumed as truth. The Architect was the High Priest of Urthemiel and the leader of the Builders "who constructed monuments to the glory of the gods" according to the Great Plan. He was the first Magister to be approached by Sethius Amladaris (Corypheus),the High Priest of Dumat, to join in his endeavour to reach the Golden City.

Honestly I still think out of all the corrupted magisters he was the only one that wanted the best for the dark spawn. He might make a cameo or hopefully be an ally

@@avetruetocaesar541I think this is largely been retconned which is very disappointing it was going to be an interesting experience with the ideas of the dark spawn gaining sentience and of the relationship between the Old Gods and themselves But it's been revealed that the blight was nothing more than a weapon launched by the Evanuris those beings that Solas would later fight against and also be victorious over He created the Veil and also imprisoned the blight along with the Evanuris within the newly created Fade All the ancient Magisters did was just be exposed in an area that they didn't know was infected The Old Gods don't have any relationship to it, and they don't call to the dark spawn anymore trying to free themselves from the underground prisons and get vengeance at the Maker and his creations Before they have been tainted they don't even get involved with the dark spawn at all And really the arch demon isn't restricted to the "Old Gods" it's really any dragon that the Dark Spawn can manage to corrupt

How so?
@rejvaik004 ай бұрын
@@MultiBahader it's been revealed by the later games that the blight and the dark spawn were nothing more poor unfortunate souls exposed to a weapon created by the Evanuris Think of it like a magical version of our modern day understanding of radioactive material The ancient elves that ruled as gods long in the past of Thedas they created the taint to use against themselves in their constant infighting and Solas/Fen'harrel's rebellion to overthrow them When Solas won he set up the veil and thusly trapped the taint in the fade making it inaccessible to anyone and the only reason it leaked back into the world is because a bunch of tevinter mages who also believed themselves to be gods entered the fade physically and came into contact with it

@nofuture1042 ай бұрын
@@rejvaik00you say reconned but isn't what you said very heavily implied when Tamlen comes in contact with a corrupted Eluvian and later shows up in the middle of becoming a shriek? That was all written before this. I think the best way to explain the architect is he probably literally has no clue what he really is and where he really came from and this is what he's come up with. I think the biggest mystery Dragon Age will always play with (as long as the writing is decent and consistent which is getting less and less likely the more OGs leave.) is what is true and what is hugely trumped up allegory when it comes to the chant of light, the history of Darkspawn, and the history of the elves. In the end I think it is all trumped up allegory that all leads back to the very real (to them) phenomenon that is the fade. In a universe where the fade is a thing that can exist, and can cause all this batshit stuff to happen, of course it all becomes a avenue for mortals to forge belief systems that rationalize it.
