First follow my video up to 1 min 21 secs to setup Dragon. then follow the commands below. Say: "Open Microsoft Word" Say: "Press Enter" (Opens a Blank document) Dictate your book. Say "Close" Say: "Save" (And give it a name if you wish) Say "Save" (again) To carry on working with your document later. Say: "Open Microsoft Word" On the left you have all your recent word documents listed just say the name of the one you want and it will open. To carry on were you left off just say. Say "Go To End" Or Insert after "word" (being the last word you type) Or Move the cursor manually to save and edit your document and only use Dragon to dictate your literature by saying the command: Say "Switch to Dictation mode" (this will not allow commands or anything else and only allow you to dictate and not accidentally say commands and messing up your document.) Say "Switch to normal mode" (puts it back to both commands and dictation) Let me know how you get on.

Hi, Do me a favour and quickly create another profile making sure you setup up your profile via the Sennheiser headset. then retest and see if your getting the same issues. Also is the Sennheiser headphones usb or phono input. @@xandrutait Hi. They are USB. I set up the new profile and had no issues, but I should have said that it's only an intermittent problem. Like today I had no issues at all, but yesterday it was relentlessly putting "him." my headphones used to be one of the ones they had on their recommendations, but now I don't see it listed. Maybe I will go ahead and get some new ones, and then I could keep these as a back up. From what you are saying, it's definitely something with the headphones and not dragon, correct? Thanks!

Could be a number of factors but first create a new profile in a different name as the one you currently have could be corrupted as you create the profile in the "Choose your Speech options" window select the "Advanced" tab bottom right and select "Bestmatch V" then select your headset in the next window "Choose your audio device" then follow all prompts to setup your headset. Once created go to your Dragon Bar or say "Switch to Dragon Bar" then select "Profile" then manage dictation source" and select your headset again or select "Add new dictation source".

There''s a headset mic from MPOW which works perfectly for me on several different computers running Dragon. It's wired and gives a choice between analog plug or USB. Not expensive here in California.

absolutely as the speech engine is exactly the same so the accuracy is just as excellent.

Hi You have to keep reading until the Greyed out OK button is enabled to select or it will not adapt to his voice profile. I recommend reading a passage instead from a book or leaflet which enables him to pause when he wants and then correct any errors using the correct "word to "word" command and this should work just as good.

Hello Xandru, yes, I did mean the Dragon Professional Individual for Mac, v6. the work I'm involved in just requires me to provide content and not to transcribe and the version I'm using presently is Dragon Dictate 5 which I purchased when it was released a couple of years ago. I have the latest version of the operating system on my Mac and I am aware that Dragon can introduce updates which will suddenly make the version I'm having obsolete. Under the circumstances, I'm wondering whether it would be better for me to make an investment in Dragon Professional Individual For Mac, V 6. Your videos are excellent and certainly improved my usage of the software because of the information you have provided. I will be going through the link you have forwarded shortly but would also like to request to as a favor to forward a comprehensive link of any videos you have created for Dragon Professional Individual For Mac, V 6. Type only. wake up in the first blank box and nothing in the second blank box. Now click the Train button and say wake up to re-train it. Do it three times buy clicking the start button then close and retry. The short cut key to turn of the Mic is the + number-pad key. To stop playback hit the "escape" key. let me know how you get on.

Hi Darmaine Sorry for long reply :) When it is on red indicates the Mic is off and Dragon will not respond to any commands when the Mic is in the red off position. Blue indicates it is in Sleep mode and will only respond to "Wake up" "Listen to me" or "Go to sleep" "Stop listening". goto: Tools Options Miscellaneous second option down make sure "have microphone on but asleep" is ticked so Dragon will start in sleep mode"blue"and all you will have to say is "Wake up" I will check but I don't think the Mic will automatically turn off to red but in the miscellaneous tab there is an option "put the microphone asleep after 5 minutes of silence. You could change this to what ever minutes you want. Maybe as you may not have the "have microphone on but asleep" option ticked then Dragon is turning your Mic off instead. Give it a go. Yes.Unless you have a laptop and an internal Mic but I would not recommend it buy buy a noise cancel microphone.

Hi, Xandru, I ran into another issue, I just had my computer cleaned and probably some of the settings, I just purchased a neq desk mike for my Dragon Naturally Speaking # 13, now it will not respond to recognize my start up! Do you any idea, on what i should look for to make it start working again? thanks Virian

Hi Start Dragon and then go to: profile open user profile select your profile click open A window called "Manage Dictation Sources" should pop with the original missing microphone you used previousy but it will be greyed out as you no longer using the dictation source. at the bottom of the window is a button called "Add New Dictation Source" press it Now see if your new Mic is listed and click next to do a quick audio check to set the Mic up with your previous profile. If you have no previous profile and it has been deleted then: Start Dragon profile new user profile and follow prompts to set-up a new profile with your new Mic.

+Peacock Maiden Hi Make sure the Mic is in blue sleep mode first by pressing the + number pad shortcut key. If the Mic is red its in off mode and will not listen to your voice. My video at 29 secs shows how to enable sleep mode automatically. Say "Listen to Me" to see if that works if not follow these steps: Open Dragon Bar. select Audio. in the drop down list. select Improve Recognition of Word or Phrase. Type only. wake up in the first blank box and nothing in the second blank box. Now click the Train button and say wake up to re-train it. Do it three times buy clicking the start button then close and retry. Still no luck check your in "Normal Mode" Say : Switch to normal mode As you maybe in dictation mode only to check go to dragon bar at the top and on the very right you have "now listing for" select Dictation & Commands and still no luck make sure the headset is picking up sound ok Open Dragon Bar and select "Audio" then "check Microphone" if not go to "control Panel" and select "Sound" for correct config of microphone". Still no luck get back to me as I am here to help :)

it wasn't working when I say "bullet" or "indent" or "outdent". It worked with "click bullet", but "click outdent" doesn't work. How else can you outdent something?

Hi Steven. are you using a USB mic or older phono din plug? Open Dargon. Select Audio then check microphone. Click next Click start It will tell you if your microphone is being picked up and working or not. If not try another USB port and retry the option again. if you're on a laptop use select the internal mic and check to see if it works. Use a USB headset as all mics are not compatible with Dragon.
