I had a herniated disk about 15 years ago. The pain was so intense I would scream in agony as I CRAWLED to the bathroom. The doctor said I would need surgery. After hearing the horror stories from other co-workers who HAD the surgery I decided against it. I had remembered an elderly lady I knew who had hand pain from arthritis who took gelatin (I had read an article about it in the 1990's and told her about it). She had lived in pain for decades until she took the gelatin. After about 2 or 3 weeks of hydrolyzed Knox gelatin (at the time you could buy a months supply at the grocery store for about $15, but they stopped selling it years ago) the back pain disappeared. As long as I take gelatin daily I have NO pain at almost 70, but if I stop taking it within a few days I feel a nudge to restart it. My back feels like it did when I was 18 as long as I take the gelatin. I purchase 20 pails of it online (now about $170 for hydrolyzed gelatin) that lasts almost a year. I still have the DVD with the MRI images of the disk as proof.

Thank you, Dr Berg! You are the best. Here are my tips: I buy Agar Agar (seaweed Vegan gelatin) and toss some in my dog stews.or I bloom Beef Gelatin (Amazon) and add it to hot dog stew after cooking. Ditto for myself. I add Agar or Gelatin to most of my curries, stews, soups, along with seaweed when I have it. I make desserts like Chocolate Jello which is milk, cream, cocoa, monkfruit extract, beef gelatin. I buy Bulk Powder bags of Glycine, Magnesium Glycinate, Potassium, Vit C, MSM and take 1/3 tsp once or twice a day mixed in water, lemon juice, AC vinegar, and a bit of MDH Pani Puri Masala which makes a great cooling drink. The Glycine adds a sweet note, which offsets the vinegar and lemon. Pani Puri Masala is an Indian savory spice mix that is salt, rock salt, green mango powder (tartness) pepper, cumin, and other spices. All safe and healthy. It is an amazing tangy taste great mixed in water or plain yoghurt for an instant salad. I also make homemade Indian Kulfi ice cream with gelatin, evaporated milk (from scratch), cream, cardamom powder, monkfruit, a dash of raw honey, ground almonds, crushed raw cashews and raw pistachios. Gelatin is optional here. How you flavor it is up to you - mango pulp, almond flavor, rose flavor, saffron, lychee, coconut, etc. Mix and freeze in small cups, no ice cream maker needed. All good ways to eat gelatin.

Glycine is found in various protein-containing foods, particularly those that are high in collagen or gelatin. Some foods that are good sources of glycine include: 1. **Bone broth:** Bone broth made from simmering animal bones and connective tissues is rich in glycine. 2. **Gelatin:** Gelatin, which is derived from collagen, is a concentrated source of glycine. It's found in foods like Jello, gummy candies, and certain desserts. 3. **Meat:** Animal meats, such as beef, pork, poultry, and fish, contain glycine, especially in connective tissues and skin. 4. **Seafood:** Fish and shellfish are good sources of glycine, particularly in the skin, bones, and cartilage. 5. **Dairy products:** Some dairy products, like milk, cheese, and yogurt, contain glycine, although in smaller amounts compared to meat and gelatin. 6. **Eggs:** Egg whites contain glycine, along with other amino acids, making eggs a good source of protein. 7. **Soy products:** Soybeans and soy-based products, such as tofu and tempeh, contain glycine, although they may have lower levels compared to animal-derived sources. 8. **Legumes and beans:** Certain legumes and beans, such as chickpeas, lentils, and black beans, contain glycine, although the levels may be lower compared to animal-based sources. Incorporating a variety of these foods into your diet can help ensure an adequate intake of glycine, along with other essential nutrients. 🤗👌 😉

yup yup yup! BEEF BONE BROTH IS A MAGICAL DRINK! the amount of glycine in a cup of bone soup can range from 500 mg to 1700 mg (0.5 to 1.7 g) Warm it up and drop a couple of tspoons of butter.. Wow.. so addictive.. you'll get more than enough "glycine" by drinking a couple of cups of this every day.. and the bonus is Beef Bone Broth is super rich in collagen and about 8 to 9 gram of protein per 1 cup. I personally mix in 2 tsp of Beef Gelatin Powder.. for another 8 grams of protein.. The amino acid composition of gelatin is approximately: 21 percent glycine. 12 percent proline. 12 percent hydroxyproline. Mix the Gelatin Powder in cold, then warm up. Drinking Bone Broth.. makes these valuable amino acids more bio available than any other source!

When it is done, I poor the juice/fat in a smallish container and put it in fridge. What happens is the fat creates a crust, and below it is a wonderful flavored (the seasoning I put on the chicken) gelatin! I eat some the fat with it --- wonderful!! Will depend upon YOUR local butcher, these days chicken feet are removed at the source, cleaned, processed and sold into the Asian Food Market. Long gone are the days a Butcher will process an entire animal on-site resulting is wasted animal protein off-cuts to be "thrown-away", most of the unsold but consumable parts will become brown biscuit and tinned jelly pet-food.

Adding ACV to the bones helps extract and break them down more. A pressure cooker really speeds it up and you can drain off the broth and feed the cooled bones to your dog or cat because the bones literally become mush thanks to the ACV (apple cider vinegar).

I thought Collagen was a fad, especially the general media at the time was saying “you’ll look years younger”. I didn’t care about trying to look younger so I never thought anymore about it. Well now I’m a big fan of Collagen. I am a 63 year old woman. I have been experiencing TERRIBLE joint and Sciatica pains for several months now. I have been searching for answers and treatments for my chronic pains. Well one of the things that I noticed in my “research” was how beneficial Collagen is for joint and nerve pain. I started taking Collagen, a liquid supplement of 10,000 mg daily, along with some Vitamin C. I felt ALMOST immediately some alleviation of the pains. By no means is the chronic pain gone but to have even the slightest REPRIEVE from the pain is glorious. ❤ Now it’s only been two weeks of starting Collagen daily, so I hope to have more relief from the chronic pain (inflammation?).🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞❤😊

I just bought a kilo of gelatine powder online. I plan to make jelly (jello) puddings for myself without adding sugar. Maybe chocolate pudding. Orange jelly. Lemon jelly. I guess it could be added to hot soup, as well. I'm just going to add a teaspoon a day to start with. Gelatin and Gelatine are the same thing by the way, just a different spelling. I'm hoping it's going to strengthen my hair, and have other benefits. It could be added to other instant puddings as well. Just put a teaspoon of gelatin in a bowl with a little boiling water and mix til dissolved. Then add more water and sprinkle in the pudding powder. Make sure there's no maltodextrin in the pudding powder ingredients when buying it.

Glycine is very popular in Russia, but people mainly use it to reduce stress (usually during exams or other stressful periods). 50 tablets of 100g Glycine cost around 0.5 USD. Here's the description: "Glycine 100 mg - sublingual tablets designed to improve the nervous system and brain functions. They contain the amino acid glycine, which takes an active part in the metabolic processes of nervous and muscle tissue. The drug strengthens the immune system, helps maintain a positive attitude, reduces stress levels and improves sleep."

I just love gelatine. Bought 3 kg of it and learn to make jelly. Yesterday I made milk jelly. I also train hard (and with creatine even harder). And I've noticed that while creatine gives me endurance to train more, it doesn't give endurance to my joints, so they fail earlier than muscles. I tried collagen pills, they help my joints, but they are not fun to eat at all, and they are more expensive, so I bought gelatine.

Do u know why Chinese people look young? In Our culture we do not waste any food. .. bone, organs, chicken n fish skin do not go to waste. We make a lot of pork cow bone broth organ broth, soups made with an entire chicken head to toe with various Chinese herbs. Growing up my mom feeds me these soup literally every other day! For 47 yrs i only used cheap duane reade eye cream n rarely use face cream but people think I’m in my mid 30s. I have only been to the gym for an aggregate of 15 months in my entire 47yrs but my body at 47 is still very toned like a 28-30yr old’s body. Maybe it is embedded in our genetics because of thousands of yrs many generations of consuming this collagen rich diet? 🤔

With regard to protein, insulin and glucagon, I find that paired with regular exercise (such as walking multiple times a day and doing resistance training) my glucose actually goes _down,_ most likely because the protein is being shuttled into my muscles. Counterintuitively, if i get more fat, my glucose may go up gradually. I think this is because the insulin spike isn't as pronounced, and I've been low carb (used to be keto, but I'm high-protein now, and rarely measure very high ketones) for five years. If I do a workout and have a protein shake, my blood sugar will mildly spike then come way down, and return to a level lower than it was before. I know this because I'm using a CGM. I time my meals around my exercise to maximize protein absorption.
