I've now spent over 3 weeks of my life in Afghanistan, and I have barely told you about the AMAZING food that exists in this country! In fact, I would honestly say that Afghanistan has some of the most underrated street food in the entire world. All of the dishes here are so delicious, so plentiful and SO CHEAP!
In today's video, I take you on the streets of Bamiyan (in the central region of the country) to try some of the best Afghan street foods - IS ANYONE HUNGRY OUT THERE?!
Please note that this video was extremely hard to edit because just 2 weeks after I left Bamiyan, there were 2 massive blasts that destroyed the main marketplace, leaving 14 people dead and dozens more wounded. 100% of this video was shot in that exact marketplace, which is now in ruins, and I am just devastated.
In any regard, Bamiyan (and Afghanistan as a whole) is one of my favorite places on earth -- the culture is so raw and authentic, and the people are some of the most hospitable in the world! I am loving every second of this trip and I can't wait to tell you more stories from the wonderful country of Afghanistan.
PS - Would you try any of these Afghan dishes? Comment below!

This is what I like about this videos, you get to see that people are people and there are fantastic and kind souls everywhere in the World. I always tought of Afganistan as a war country with evil terrorists in it, the product of ignorance. This men you mention saying be my guest... I could see him being a friend, a neighbor, a relative. This videos make me see we are all some how equal and have empathy.

I have several friends originally from Afghanistan both here in the UK and in Denmark and Germany. My father served in Afghanistan training and teaching a battalion in the Afghan Army with essential military skills. I hope to visit one day when it is safer and the country manages to eradicate the Taliban. I can safely say that on the whole, Englishmen do not like the Taliban who currently control around half of the nation's land, but people like Afghans on the whole and we fully support the Afghan government.

I remember a teacher showed me his photos of Afghanistan during his time in Peace Corps in the ‘70’s. It was the most breathtaking place I had ever seen. Since that time, it encouraged me to travel the world: Turkey, Morocco, South Africa, Spain, China, Japan, New Zealand and Australia...these places were incredible. I would love to see the beauty of Afghanistan too, one day.

I’m an Afghan and had to leave Afghanistan because of Taliban. I never expected Drew to go there and just found this video. I really miss the food, my parents lives in a different country, my siblings are spread in different countries because some countries accepted females, some were open to males. That just broke our family, seeing this video makes me really emotional. I wish Afghans didn’t have to suffer so much just because they were born in Afghanistan.

The people of Afghanistan need to be able to live in peace. Noor's little boy deserves a better life than his father has endured. We ALL need to reject the concept of war as an acceptable form of resolving our differences. Violence and oppression must become part of a past, difficult human condition we can learn from. ALL people of the world could live in peace. We are SO spoiled in America. It's embarrassing! Great video, Drew. Thank you. Food looks delicious :)

@@nathanmichell7210 I hear people like you saying "for what" all the time about this. It proves that you are uneducated, because literally everything you see in the video, is what it was for. Before the US backed government, there was taliban. They did not tolerate any of this, the lively markets, music, colorful clothing styles you see everyone wearing, the women in the video able to show their face. None of that was allowed with the taliban, they banned music, leisurely activities, colorful clothing, they publicly executed a woman in the middle of a football stadium as entertainment. Improvements in Afghans' lives and the standard of living, education, technology, human rights, womens lives, eliminating diseases, that has all happened under the current government that was established after the US invasion. The biggest travesty of all the sacrifice we have made is people like you who are so determined to make it out like that war has achieved nothing, and preach about how there should never be a war again. You know nothing about the world and that not all people think that way, or else yes of course we would have world peace and it would be wonderful. But there are people who are not afraid to impose their will on others in violent ways and only a child would think that that is ever going to stop

There are no bad nations, only bad people. Watching these vlogs u actually see that with your own eyes. Edit: damn, guys, chill... I wrote this comment out of pure love and I sign under every word I said, I do believe there are not bad nations, only bad people. Why did u start all this political and religious fight under? Just stop it. I love Muslims, I love Christians, I love Buddhists. And to be honest - I don’t really care, what your religion or political views are. I can be careless if u supported Trump or Biden, if u pray to God or Allah, if you wear a turban or a robe. It’s like we don’t have enough of this bullshit on TV. Just stop. Spread love and positivity, or if you are not able to do that - at least don’t spread negativity and separation.
