The showrunners all admitted that they had no experience with comicbooks and comicbook characters, legal dramas, etc., nor love for any of them. They should never have been let near a property like this. And yes, they did the 4th-wall break that they had been told was a feature of the most famous She-Hulk runs. Knowing about it because you were told about it and told to use it as a cheap gimmick doesn't mean you know how to use it, and they amply proved that. Analysis: The showrunners' qualifications were their ignorance and complicency.

OK literally nobody in Hollywood has experience with legal dramas lol that’s like .0001% of everything producing Hollywood probably. So that’s really stupid to point out and you don’t have to have experience with legal dramas to make legal dramas. It’s not that much more to it. It’s just incorporating some courtroom scenes. That’s literally it. There’s nothing complicated. And you can say well they did a bad job with so you can’t say it it’s not complicated. No they didn’t do a bad job with the show and you didn’t watch it. Lol. But I bet they did not say they have no love for comics or the characters and they probably did not say they had no experience whatsoever with all these things you claimed. Again, you just have someone who hates Disney probably lied and told you that and you believed it. Maybe they literally said this, but I doubt it. Maybe one person said it. But I doubt that.

It really ticks me off when these show makers say things like "Female characters were never going to be tolerated in this space". Conveniently forgetting that Scarlet Witch was well liked (at least to begin with). Black Widow was a fan favourite and arguably the best character in Endgame. Peggy Carter was well liked despite being a secondary character. The daughters of Antman and Hawkeye were fun characters at the least. Valkyrie was also well received (again, at first). It wasn't until later when other writers stopped them being characters that stood on their own strengths and weakness' and started using them as vehicles to deliver "THE MESSAGE" did people voice their dislike. It's just so easy for these people to say toxic fans hate female characters when they deliberately ignore the wealth of female characters that people really enjoyed.

Orphan Black was good and she was VERY good in it. For those who came late, Orphan Black was a show clones. Some 'bad people' - I forget the full plot - was engaged in making clones and Tatiana played ALL the female clones, all of which have dramatically different mannerisms and styles and often against her other characters. What is more is because of 'plot' at some times she played one of the clones pretending to be one of the different clones (again, been a while but there was one situation where Clone A needed to do something at the same time as finally getting access to her son, so she got Clone B and said, "Just wear my clothes and pick up my son after school and walk him home". It makes sense in context.) So yes, she CAN act. I give you that the scripts for OB do seem to be a lot better than SH. I also give you that it is possible to be a good actress and a Woke at the same time. Being a good actor does not prevent you from being a Leftie. BUT... Not only does the acting in SH look utter rubbish, but she comes across as an insufferable victim who did nothing wrong. Sorry sweetie, but you were the lead of this show. You have to take at least some ownership. Again, which is a pity cause in Orphan Black you were actually very good.

Jessica Gao is just a POC sock-puppet for the real villain Dana Schwartz. Way, way back (way before Tatiana Maslany handcuffed herself to this yech mishegoss, before Gao known) when the project was just announced, Dana got into a knock-down, drag-out fight online with a fan who asked how she was qualified to work on She-Hulk. Rather than say anything diplomatic or pacifying, Dana took the question personally and attacked the fan as a gatekeeper and a misogynist. The fact that she was never fired or made to apologize, or disciplined in anyway, led me to conclude that the rot was from the top down, and nothing good would EVER come from this production. You know what really sucks? She-Hulk has a potentially amazing niche within the MCU and I wanted it to be good. I'm kind of a legal nerd, so I was really hoping they would create a smart legal drama nestled in the fallout of other superheroes' crazy actions within the universe. It had so much potential. Like, the idea of a supervillain actually finishing out a sentence and going to a probation hearing potentially reformed? Civilians suing superheroes in civil court for a stray explosion killing a family memeber? Random people stealing superhero identities and causing copyright disputes? It could have been a focused and grounded show with tons of interesting storylines hidden beneath the larger world that never got a chance to be told. But no, lets not have anybody who knows how a courtroom works on the "superhero lawyer" show and just do stupid pointless things instead.

In 'Hawkeye' they revealed that he wasn't a criminal mastermind, but stole all his success from a powerful GIRLBOSS. And they ran over him with a car and shot him in the head. In 'Echo', they turn him into a weepy loser who can't control the situation and is begging for a GIRLBOSS to forgive him or end him and take his place. And then she cured his childhood trauma because really he was just a sad boy who couldn't adapt. It's the same problem they had with Kang... they wanted him to be the 'villain', but had a more desperate need to have a GIRLBOSS beat him up every five minutes to show how GIRLBOSS they were.

Guys like the REAL She-Hulk. If you'd done that version, you would have gotten a fantastic audience. Of course, the GUYS that could have made that show are anathema to modern incompetent Hollywood.
@macmcleod11884 ай бұрын
I could see a scene where they had her in her one piece costume with the v-cut with a really nice shot of her ass, and she looks at the screen and says "you know my ass is CGI, right?" That would have been meta and funny and fan service. But, you're going to have a problem with any superhero movie about women that attacks and doesn't appeal to the male audience. Because most women won't watch it to begin with. And even most women don't want to see female superheroes in potato sack obscuring costumes. And most women wouldn't watch the show to see She Hulk beat or humiliate a guy..... they would watch it to see her in a romance with a hot guy or two hot guys. This show was written to appeal to the segment of women who are angry and aggrieved. That is it most 15% of the total population it was set up for failure from the start. And the budget was too high for such a niche set of customers. Since men makeup 65 to 75% of the audience for these shows, if they want to make a profit they're going to have to make shows that entertain men. And if they want to appeal to women, Aquaman 1 shows us they're going to have to show a very attractive male star partially undressed. If you look at Deadpool 1, we had his girlfriend, play by Marina Baccin, who loved him and dressed in hot sexy costumes. Though as far as I can recall they didn't have cheesecake to appeal to the ladies so they may have missed an audience segment there.

The kind of misandrist belittling and constant whining about her job and situation that Jen in the TV show engages in is born from INSECURITY. A person comfortable in her own skin doesn't need to put other people down and loses nothing by lifting them up. A person who knows they can succeed has nothing to fear from losing their job or taking risks. THIS is what She-Hulk from the comics was like. She was friendly and generous and it all stemmed from being truly awesome and knowing it. If anything, Jen in the comics liked being She-Hulk TOO MUCH. They couldn't have gotten the character more backwards if they tried. And they did try!

He had a band in school that did covers of metal songs and he had written songs of his own. Basically I expect that level of writing from a teenager just starting out.

There are no stakes anymore for anyone onscreen as long as that version of the character exists. They weren't necessarily a power fantasy that we see today

The basic concept of a hero is to struggle and overcome difficulties. Without the challenge, there is no heroism. The classic hero‘s journey always includes setbacks, challenges and tests not only of strength, but of character. The modern day examples you made have none of that, hence they are not heroes. People see them and realize that these characters are not heroes. They are just powerful and full of pride, with zero character development. Their story is just a basic explanation how they came to be so powerful, which is usually the path of the villain. So yeah, people don’t like these characters, because they are not heroes. Has nothing to do with their gender as people liked female heroes for a very long time. Though the sad thing is that modern day Hollywood does train us to associate „female lead“ with this type of character through our human ability to recognize patterns (writer’s patterns of Hollywood in this case).

It's eerily coincidental how this bombshell was dropped amidst rumours that Deadpool 3 is in development hell. I'll elaborate. The story goes that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are getting really irritated with Bob Iger and Kevin Feige. The script has a recap of Wolverine's past to get the viewers up to speed. Scenes with Logan serving in D-Day and Vietnam were filmed. Iger and Feige ordered that they be cut. Their reasoning was that these sequences were too violent and dark. Jackman isn’t happy with this. But what's really angered Reynolds is Iger and Feige's insistence that She-Hulk and Captain Marvel be shoehorned in. In fact, they want Deadpool to team up with She-Hulk became they both break the fourth wall. Wolverine is just there for fanservice. Tatiana Maslany apparently demanded a ridiculously high salary for her performance. Reynolds reportedly got into heated arguments and ultimately fired her. He'll personally make sure that Maslany's scenes will never be leaked to the public. The only proof we'll see that She-Hulk was originally in Deadpool 3 will be through behind the scenes footage in the movie's Assembled episode.
