The rain cleared just long enough for a quick run on the Tennyson Railway with the camera mounted on the train. This is a Gauge 1 railway with large radius curves, allowing higher speed mainline steam trains.

Rails in the Garden are a group based in NSW, Australia that meet regularly to run our live steam and battery-electric trains on 32mm and 45mm gauge tracks at events held in member's gardens and at regular indoor exhibition events. We cater to all the common garden scales including Gauge 1, 16 mm, G-scale and 7/8ths scale.
We produce our own quarterly Australian magazine devoted to the garden railway hobby and subscription enquires are welcomed by e-mail: magazine@ritg.org.au.
Our premier annual event is the Southern Highlands Steam-Up (SHSU) and we are already looking forward to the next edition on 17-19 May 2024; details of pre-registration are available at shsteamup.com or by e-mail: registrar@shsteamup.com.

Hi there, I’m using a GoPro (11 Mini - it’s very small and fits easily within the loading gauge).

@@SteamInYourGarden Thx 4 ur answer. it's better than my two handheld Lumix DSLR camera in focus n resolution! The DSLR has too many features for difficult to learn and a lot of unnecessary ones. Auto-mode is also crap!

I think you’re right - the GoPro is much cheaper and I only ever use it in auto mode. The image stabilisation in particular superb. Its only “problem” is it only has a wide-angle lens so not useful for long-distance shots but great for close-ups. See my other videos for examples - they’ve all been recorded the same way (except the very first one).

@@SteamInYourGarden Thx 4 more info on the onboard cam. Pls try track level pass bye shots w the GoPro wide angle n c if the shot is prototype like. What i've never seen B4 is burrying the mini-cam betwn the ties from the modelers so dat mayb fun too. Lighting may need 2B addressed there.

@schutendohkji548 Hi, I have many track level bypass shots on my channel, eg: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rKtylLWQuJ2-dIU.htmlsi=uY5jK5Sp5R1Y7h78 so please let me know what you think. However it would need to be a very tiny camera to fit between the sleepers!
