You have a knack for storytelling, and the use of different angles & drone footage to capture your trip, adds immensely to your narrative. Keep it up. A mate of mine showed me how to tie that "truckie's knot" but I've forgotten how to do it. But I agree, knowing what knot to use, when, and how to tie things down is a good skill to have. Thanks for sharing.

Best video so far you have done (simply my opinion 😂) Yes Finke river and all West Mackey is a magical place. I had the privilege to camp on the bank of the finke with my family couple of years ago ( on swags) Palm valley is another beautiful spot that not many people visiting. Whole trip was on a solo car adventure and will do aging in a heartbeat Probably next time full finke NP track north to south. Perfect perfect perfect country for a cruiser BTW I have the same knife (cleaver) bloody good hay 😂 Thanks mate

Hope the alternator keeps going.I guess it is clear not muddy water.One of the first things I did to my Troopy was get a sealed alternator.

Yeah it's all sweet for now, I'm not worried, my 2008 79 had the original alternator right up until I traded it in with 300,000km on the clock. Maybe if I was doing bonnet deep mud crossings all day I'd change it to a sealed unit.

Love it mate! you guys have inspired me to take it on later in the year. Bit less water I guess but still awesome. Can a beginner do it if you have a high clearance 4wd with recovery gear etc and and a support vehicle you think?

Mate that is great to hear, so glad we've inspired you to have a crack! Look I'd have to say it would be wise to do it with some experience, is the other person in the support vehicle experienced at all? It's not a terribly difficult track, however knowing when and how to use hi 4 and low 4 for example is important, Boggy sand and water crossings etc...

Cheers, I let them down to 30 psi hot, so roughly 25 cold in the morning leaving camp. definitely makes a difference in traction, comfort and overall alot easier on the vehicle over corrugations etc. Also better for the roads and tracks.

Mate, great trip! 👍🏾 When was that, still heaps of water? Did you do it from North or from South? Do you have diff breathers, how did water crossing go, any through ?

Thanks, this was last weekend, will be plenty of water for a while, it's all semi permanent water holes through there mate. Started north, standard breathers. Those watercrossings would be my limit for standard. I also timed this trip with my 40,000km service getting done immediately after the trip, fairly major with diff oils changed and bearings re packed etc...

Wheel track never really bothered me mate, however I have gone neg 22 rims on the rear purely for looks. Cheers 🍻

Yeah I've got the option of using 8k also but it's really not necessary. I dont even know if most people watch vids in 4k, you need a 4k TV/screen to actually get the 4k benefits. 4k UHD yes.

That's an elite question mate 🤣 honestly it's actually rare for me to get meat from cattle on the station, usually it's camel if anything. The camels are absolutely everywhere and the meat is free and delicious.
