That's the beauty of Maharashtrian community. No matter how rich or educated they are or if they are living in Belair or Belapur, they will always be simple and middleclass at heart and by middleclass I mean valuing the traditions, respecting the elders, avoiding unnecessary expenses, respecting human bonds and above all being modest and humble.

Madhuri Dikshit is really lucky and smart enough, she has developed lovely family after marriage. She many times choose wrong films, wrong director, hero etc. but while choosing family she took wise decision. I can say it after watching this healthy communication among Nene family.

Your father is of great intellect. Going and staying abroad when there wasn't much awareness as to what awaits one must have been challenging. Every first-generation immigrant has to go through it and everyone has a different story. Loved their story so far.

मुलाखत खरच खुप छान आहे , Dr. नेनेंच मराठी इतक चांगल कस असु शकत अस मला नेहमी वाटायच पण त्या प्रश्नाच उत्तर आज मिळालं ,त्यांचे आई-वडिलच इतक अस्खलीत मराठी बोलतात त्यामुळे Dr नेने यांचही मराठी खुप छान आहे ,बाकी माधुरीची सासरची मंडळीही खुप छान आहेत.

Hello Dr. Nene. My son and me watched this video together. He is 7 years old. We live in USA. I was explaining him all the ‘Indian History’. I am also from Konkan. My parents live near DiveAagar. I could totally relate to the video and my son could too, as we visited DiveAagar last year. It took me down the memory lane. I was telling my son how amazingly you were interacting with your parents in MARATHI. And I was telling him how important it is to remember our roots while we are living here away from India. Hey Dr Nene, it’s was beautiful to hear your dad talk about his India and US journey and his studies. I understand the need to interrupt the discussions to keep it on track and save time, but just a request for next time - Have him express this thoughts uninterruptedly, it’s nice to hear random stories too.
