I've been looking for a specific video on changing brake fluid on a Ducati using the MityVac and your video instruction was perfect for that. Well delivered point by point, not that I could not have done it without the video, but I don't take anything for granted or assume I can wing my way through it. I've done clutch and brake fluid changes over the years, but it's been a while and except for my 999R, I didn't keep the bikes long enough to justify the procedure. I know you were kidding about the Starbucks example, but for those non Ducati riders or haters, this feeds right into their stereotype of those who ride Ducatis. I rarely stop at Starbucks because when I ride the canyons, there aren't any of those around and besides, I hate Starbucks coffee because it tastes like burnt beans, instant upset stomach. Thanks again and now I have a clear understanding and clarification of the steps to take moving forward today changing out the brake fluid on the 999R. I changed the clutch fluid last week, piece of cake.

I love your videos! Can you do a video about changing out the sprockets and chain? I have a Ducati SC 1000 BiPosto. I like to support my local mechanic but I also want to know what a proper job entails. Thanks.

Hey Mike! You say you use DOT4 for the clutch as well? Why not the mineral oil they recommend? I'm new to this so I want to learn. Will the process you describe here be the same for a 2016 Multistrada? Thank you for the help with the gauze filter!
@RideWNC4 жыл бұрын
Go with what is stamped on the top of your reservoir lid. This video is for 1098/1198/848 - Definately DOT4. You do not want to mix DOT4 with mineral oil if your system has mineral oil.

The process is the same for bleeding/flushing the system...

It’s hilarious that most or average Ducati’s are sold are always before 7500 miles or 15000 range, people are scared that the 1400-1600 service costs are so high when $5 Starbucks per day x 1 year is 1680. How bout you stop buying overpriced coffee and go to Arco and fresh Columbian for 1.99 or less of on sale and use all the savings off coffee for your service in 2 years or so. Love your vids currently in the market for a 🦆

My girlfriend is cool. My wife gets pissed. It is all good. I get to touch a lot of awesome bikes and I get to screw with a bunch of toolsbags who can't ride or maintain their machine. Being from Austin, you should know a lot about riding back and forth to Starbucks.

I was having trouble bleeding my 999R brakes. I found the remedy on another KZfaq video showing there is a small 6mm Bleed Bolt inside the 999's plastic brake resevoir, which you access by removing the Brake Resevoir Cap, then filling the resevoir to near the top, so you can see the air bubbles bleeding out when you loosen the inside 6mm Bolt. 🙂 kzfaq.info7rRTw52rWkI?si=JLH3eWqqxq8ktCVC BTW, my love my hot girlfriend and her Prius.
@RideWNC4 ай бұрын
Well there is your biggest issue: You are watching a video for a different bike. The 1098, 1198 and 848 do not have that resevoir. The bleeder for the newer bikes is the 11mm by the lever. Attention to details. There is a reason why the 999/749 were such a huge POS!
