what about the old fluid still in the calipers? Ducati says remove the old fluid in the calipers. Not sure how necessary that is.

For the master cylinder bleed, as you said there is no nipple, do you simply put you mity vac overtop of the bolt and slightly loosen it? Do you have a close up picture of the set up on the master cylinder? FYI- I have a 796 not a 1100 but I think the brake setup is the same

Can this be done as simply for the rear brake? Od does the wheel need to come off? (I have a 2014 Monster 1200)

I was trying to do this on my 696. As soon as I cracked the bleed valve, fluid started flowing down the caliper. I wasn't using a hand pump like yours. It that the trick? I was using a hose going to a bottle like I do for my other bikes.

My cap did the sam thing. Those caps from Ducati are 95.00 dollars. Want to paint it yourself?
