Great vid, the gravel roads looks fun on that beast, it all about the adventure! Cheers from Sweden, Lets Go!

Only down side of the Duc off road is the position of the oil filter. It’s just asking to be hit by a rock.

I am a life long Triumph guy, but the styling and sound if this bike is superb. Evidently, it's a capable mild off-raoder, too. The name "Desert Sled", used by Ducati, is actually a rip-off from Triumph. The Triumph TR6 Trophy was nicknamed the "Desert Sled" back in the '60s. Steve McQueen rode one, disguised as a BMW R75 in the film "The Great Escape".

Hey triumph guy, yeah man I like the triumphs too I’ve always wanted to take out one of the scrambler 1200’s they make those things look wild, and I did actually know that Steve McQueen rode one now that you say that. I saw the remake they did on that famous jump from the great escape and they did it with the new 1200. Pretty darn cool man. The ducati is a great machine as well, the L twin is a workhorse and sounds angry through a decent pipe. Good stuff man thanks for commenting with some knowledge I appreciate it.

Although I ride 90% paved, I have taken my Icon through some pretty gnarly tracks. Really capable and lots of fun.

They sure are!
@olawiberg762 жыл бұрын
Does the Icon have the same specs as the enduro? Suspension, gearing, ability to turn abs off, ground clearance, other? What about the 400cc version? I want one of these, kinda like my "Big red pig" (XR650) supermoto I owned some 15years ago, but better on paved roads and more suitable for my short legs :) !

Do you have journey/off-road modes on the urban Enduro? I have this years desert sled, didn’t know if that’s specific to the desert sleds or the newer bikes
@chrisoffroad84932 жыл бұрын
These don't have any rider modes unfortunately, i know the desert sleds do, that'll be my next purchase. You also can't turn off the ABS which is lame while you're off road but the bike does great regardless.

Nice video. Did you have to upgrade the suspension? I’ve noticed a few KZfaqrs who have done that. It feels fine to me stock but I haven’t ridden off-road (2020 Scrambler).
@chrisoffroad84933 жыл бұрын
Hey Zab, nah i didnt upgrade the suspension. I've seen ohlins makes front carts and a rear shock but they're designed for better street/track use and not towards offroad. Im sure you could set them up to be stiffer and they would work but then it be a 4k investment into a suspension thats closer to the one they have on it stock. The front forks being adjustable would be great though.
@ZabDevin3 жыл бұрын
@@chrisoffroad8493 I agree. Sometimes I think suspension upgrades aren’t worth it. Why not just buy a bike with a better suspension with that $4k, LOL? Plus you’ll never get your money back if you sell. By the way, the Kayaba adjustable rear shock on the new Desert Sled is $916.19 (36521661A).

@@ZabDevin Exactly man! and I'm not out here trying to race my scrambler off road. I could see the investment being worth it if i was doing flat track competitively but for an average guy taking his ducati off on some trails its fine the way it is.

isnt that more dirt roads rather than off road?

Absolutely man the seat height is only 31.1 inches/790mm you’ll be able to touch both feet to the ground on one of these with confidence.

2:39 Hey, scumbags dump couches there, to, huh?
@chrisoffroad84932 жыл бұрын
Yessir, that’s why riders get a bad wrap and trails get closed down, people think it’s us bringing a couch on our motorcycles and dropping it off in the woods lol I don’t think I can fit a couch on the scrambler but people might think I can. People ruining stuff for the rest of us.

@@chrisoffroad8493I’m glad I didn’t get to see the bike! I just bought one and know what it looks like, I’m out here for opinions and reviews, not a photoshoot of a bike I already own. Thanks for the vid!
